  2. Nearfield recording studio monitors. There is a big home studio trend theses days kinda like the big hifi boom in the 50's 60's. Klipsch could sell thousands.
  3. It was sold new with only the 12" bass driver does the B in the model name stand for bass or black? I was told its a Bass reinforcement add to a set of stock model H speakers. I can't seem to find any info on the H-D-12-B only the H-DB-12 which was the threater black Version with full range drivers.

They still make some cools stuff many pro mics ect. Paul Klipsch mett with Bod heil back in the day even flew him into hope for some sound lessons Check this out " BH: I was honored to have Paul Klipsch, the guy who almost singlehandedly brought hi-fi to the world, call me up around '72 or '73. He wanted to come to Marissa to see what I was doing, so he flew up and spent the day with me. I had this monster 30,000-watt system. He was floored. He had never seen that many power amplifiers before and such a waste of power. He was really an efficiency bug. So he put me in his plane and flew me down to Hope, Arkansas, where he lived. He taught me more stuff than a college education. I came back home and my 30,000-watt system became 10,000 watts. And it was louder, cleaner, and more articulate with a third the power. Just because he taught me how to load speakers in a cabinet, about the efficiency of speakers, and about articulation. He introduced me to the Fletcher-Munson Curve. Fletcher and Munson figured out how our ears work, and that our ears are far from flat. If you know about the Fletcher-Munson Curve of the human ear, you can adjust the sound system to make up for those little deficiencies and bingo—articulation comes alive! Everything I've done in my career has been about articulation. Very few people even understand what that word means. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/browse/article.jsp?mediaId=m711053 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heil_Sound
  5. Picked up the custom made khorn today,I will post opics soon. It used twin ev 8"drives front load with folded horn back chambers never seen th is design before, really cool. Ttweeter is a gold Jensen rp302 same as used in my 51 klipschorn. The woofwer is a 15" feild coil jensen i think . Once i get the feild coil power fuses replace and mabey replace a cap or two in the crossover I will give a listen.
  6. I am very intersed in your dads Klipschorn , I would love a shot at bringing it back to life . I have another hand built Klipschorn From Medfeild ma and would love a pair. I sent email
  7. I have a black widow on my TD 125 and love it it track real real well.even the 1812 cannon shots. you have to use a low complance cart with it. I have it set up with a ortonfon cart.
  8. I thought the first Model h (heresy) were made in 58 not 56, I have serial number 15 and it's a 58. The shorthorn and the rebel pre date the Heresy ,so i would take that artical with a few grains of salt. I think the facts are off a bit! But if they did make on in 56 I want it!!!
  9. Opps check you facts Jim Marshall Of Marshall amp fame has nothing to do with the world famous In studios TimeModulator. see here...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_St._Croix This Marshall Stephen St. Croix (born Stephen Curtis Marshall) (1948–2006) was a multifaceted American artist, audio engineer, producer, equipment designer and inventor. invented it and many other cool things He was involved with One of the best sounding DAW of it time Ensoniq's Paris,It still holds it own today . When Im not recording anolog Paris is what i use.
  10. I have solved the orig master at home problem. I'm using a 3m m64 which I recod live direct through 2 electrodyne 712 preamps.
  11. Wow what a cool set up, I have always wanted a model t to add to my 59 Cornwalls. To bad you had to finsh the Model t as they are quite rare. reminds me of when i refinshed my 50's strat and knock 75% of it's value off. It loiked beter to me at the time until I later learned to love the Patena look. anyway nice looking set.
  12. Let me get this right your saying that Behringer Interface beat the Benchmark Dac One? Behringer has about as bad a repatation for cheap semi pro gear as Bose does to klipsch guys. Benchmark is very well regared in the pro audio world and no one ever talks any good about Behringer.
  13. The price seems fair to me about what you would get if they were parted out.
  14. I dont think klipsch Licenced the Patrician 800 with its 30" bass driverwhich is not even horn loaded, but the other But the other Ev Patrician was a khorn the Klipsch liscenced. Brociner and Klipsch go way back almost to day one. I think some first hand built khorns built by Klipsch back in 46 or 47 ended up being sold through Brociner. .
  15. All my hip's came with pole mounts and I use mine for live sound, so its a plus to me.. If its done right it should keep it value maybe even add as most are still used for live sound.
  16. Maybe he got lucky and traded for a 60's vox made wah wah the one and same model used by jimi worth 3500..00 Now you can sell that and buy some really great khorns from the 50's.
  17. Pluged them in today and dam they are not bad. They are in nice shape and sound good to. Real real low they go. Anyone have a owners manule for them? Kinda fun to compare to my horns
  18. Are they still avalible?
  19. I came across some rp5's at a thrift store. They are the ones with the built in powered sub woofer. whats a fair ball park price for avrage condition.
  20. I just found out the strange corner horn i found last sumer is one of theses. It does have a nice smothe sound with much lower bass than a short horn that was paired with it. cool to finnaly find out what it is.
