  1. Have not heard from you guys lately. Now that you have had time to listen for a while, just wondering if you have anything new to report?? And Rigma, wondering if you ever did anything further to pretty up the HF on yours?? From one of the "Jube Envious"[]
  2. Hi Amy. I see that the TV show "The Office" is one of your favs. Have you seen the original British version starring Ricky Gervais?? Much funnier IMHO. The entire series is available on DVD...worth a rental. Gervais is a comic genius.
  3. Welcome to the forum Chris. Well, you came to the right place for free advice on upgrades...we love spending other people's money.[] Biggest improvement to my system came from new crossovers and Juicy Music Merlin preamp. Your khorns will certainly have crossover caps that are getting rather old. Start by replacing those. Good luck and enjoy!!
  4. Go to Ethan Winer's site www.realtraps.com Under the" Acoustics Info" section, there is a free downloadable test CD.
  5. I had a Sig 30 driving my khorns for a while last fall. Found that I had a high frequency noise issue that we could not resolve. Vinnie Rossi was great to work with as we tried everything we could think of to eliminate the problem. In the end I took advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee. Chalked it up to bad synergy...
  6. I believe it can be used to determine the frequency response of your audio system (includes the room response) by using a CD of stepped test tones and then measuring SPL for each frequency. There is a chart available to correct the known errors of the RS SPL meter.
  7. From what I understand, you can't really tune a room using a SPL meter because it has no way of differentiating between the direct sound (directly from the speakers) and the reflected sounds from the room. To do the job more accurately, you will need some measurement equipment that can seperate direct and reflected sound. Some pretty good tutorials over in the architectual section. Perhaps someone like DrWho or mas can elaborate a little more here??
  8. Yes to what Michael says!!Don't feel that you should not attend because you have not been a longtime Klipscher...they welcome one and all. Sounds like they have some great demos planned. I have never attended but still love to read about the "experience" from afar. And maybe Michael will get to show you his "House of Klipsch".[H]
  9. IMO larger than life presentations require larger than life speakers to do them justice. This is where I feel that the big Klipsch really "seperate" themselves from most other speakers...
  10. So I have to ask... Why no Diana Krall or Norah Jones?? Even if you don't like the musical styles, you have to admit that the production and recording values for these two artists are nothing short of outstanding. And IMO, very good recordings are what should be used to seperate the "wheat from the chaff" when it comes to speakers. No big deal...just curious.
  11. I'm hoping Coytee jumps in here with an invitation to hear his Jubilee setup...heh heh heh
  12. Congrats Tim Now you are starting to know what the fuss is all about. Nothing like hearing it for yourself in your own home. Enjoy!!
  13. Welcome John Stick around for a while and you will learn more about all things Klipsch than you could ever learn from a dealer IMO. I think you will find a wide range of opinions as to what is best to drive the "big ole horns". Anything from flea powered tube amps to high power SS pro amps. The fact that the Klipschorn has been in continuous production for over sixty years, says a lot about Paul Klipsch and his vision. Hope you get to check out the Lascala II's soon? Look forward to your review. Garth
  14. Not that dangerous...Craig is gone fishing!![]
  15. Naw...he's probably tipping back some Crown Royal and puffing on Export A's right about now.[H]
  16. Perhaps someone could invite John Potis to join our forum here?? Anyone know how to contact him?
  17. I don't know what was worse... playing the game or finding the cheat sheet..LOL
  18. Way to go Gary and Tommyboy...just take it one day at a time. Been off the cigs for about six months now...wife still smokes though. Good luck to all who have quit and to you Travis.
  19. Hmmm...seven years old?? Don't think they have been around that long. You must have meant seven months??
  20. ...or is it Cotterphono for Colterphoto??
  21. Hmmm...a Mitchell Cotter for Michael Colter??
  22. Hi Tim If you have good corners, you really should go grab those Speakerlab K's. Should be a good step up from a Lascala set-up. As for crossovers, don't worry about them for now. Should be easy to upgrade in the future should you desire to do so. If they don't suit your tastes, they should be easy unload at somewhere near your purchase price. Good luck.
  23. Hi Anthony Try swapping the left and right speaker wires at the amp. If the noise stays on the left, you know it is a speaker problem. If it moves to the right side, most likely an amp or source problem. Good luck. Garth
