Great guy is right....comfortable as an armchair to me though we never met in person. Can't hear a Stones song without thinking about him. I remember telling him I looked forward to seeing him at Coytee's jube fest and he said something to the effect "be carefull what you wish for....people either get me or not" I think a lot of us "got him". I had thought of starting a thread on his birthday which I am pretty sure is October 27th. If no one else does I will....RIP Old buddy.

Bluesboy dropped by....had a couple of Maker's Mark on the patio till the mosquitos ran us off. Took a walk and played with the yellow lab down the street......miss my two old girls Ginger's Tarheel Kate and Boykin's Ginger Gem[] Bailey the yellow lab loved the attention but it was sad to see her walk off as both hips are about gone[] Labs live much too short a life.

A rainy, rainy, Saturday afternoon in the Port City. My Tarheels stunk up the stadium in Atlanta playing Georgia Tech. Glad I didn't open up that blue paint. Getting ready to open a new bottle of Maker's Mark so I guess the bar is open guys. Cheers[D]

Yes E. Isle as well as the S. Carolina Beaches are all close. As far as the strand and waves Wrightsville Beach is my preference but parking is metered and hard to find. My Tarheels rolled over East Carolina rather convincingly today. Sorry chilibone. Win21 must be out shooting birds. Weather took a turn for the better. Idratherhunt probably shot more birds[] Back from dinner. Swordfish topped with crabmeat and crem brulee for dessert. A Belvedere martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives....hmmm good.

Hi bl.......We are on Virginia Dare Trail.....walking distance to the monument. Like to go there on our anniversary week since the crowds have thinned out. Man you came a long distance to get to the beach! Funny....I live 2 miles from Wrightsville Beach but drive 250 miles to get to the Outer Banks. Great weekend back to you and the wife. JB...that friday commute from Pluto must be hell. Where is the Queen City sushi boy?

Certainly an icon to my generation and a pioneer in the folk music scene. Mary gave music and performing her all for five decades. Most of us grew up with PP&M's music and her passing leaves a huge void.

I have done the Atkin's Diet more times than I can count. Always a good diet for me to lose 10 pounds in two weeks. At 6'1" and 190, 10 pounds will get me where I need to be. On the third to fourth day when the glycogen burns off you get an incredible burst of energy. Still it would be good never to have to diet again.

A rhetorical question Artto....I mentioned I had a stop loss order on...adjusted higher as the price went higher. Like Colin I bought again in the 3's after getting out in the 6's[]

PBS here in Carolina at 9:00 pm. A star studded cast to celebrate the occasion. May be worth a watch.
