  1. Just heard from Michael. He's at the airport in Indy, so it looks like he is overcoming some of the anxiety associated with flying. He said to let everybody know he is back on his "Diet Rock Star" and he hopes none of you are the lucky ones that get to sit by him on the airplane.[] I have never tried "Rock Star" so I am not sure what effect it may have on someone???? Michael will have his own bedroom here and six acres to get "lost" on, so I don't think alone time will be too difficult to achieve. Dtel says he wishes he knew where a "brothel" was located because he might consider dropping Michael off for a few hours. On the other hand, I think we may never see him again if we do that. So, we better wait till the last day of his visit for the "brothel" deal.[] Amy, if Michael doesn't show up for work at Klipsch on the 12th let everyone know what happened.[] I think he will be fine once he realizes that we are all just as insane as he is.[*-)] We are scheduled to pick Michael up at MSY (Louis Armstrong Airport) in New Orleans at 2:45 p.m., so I am sure he will be suffering serious "jet lag". Thanks for the kind words.
  2. I love you too Michael. [] I promise not to cough on you. Hey, why don't you pick up some of that "airborne" stuff. It is supposed to work pretty good at preventing you from catching stuff on planes, close quarters, etc.? Please don't miss your plane like some folks have done on this forum.[] I can't remember who it was that recently missed their plane because they were sitting in the airport posting back and forth on the forum.
  3. Homemadeheresy, Thank you. They are beautiful speakers and we are very proud to own them. It's hard to find real quality workmanship these days. BTW, where is Mechen, WV. We have been to Winterplace Ski Resort and Canaan Valley. It is near either of those? We sure hope you can make it to Indy this year, we missed you in Hope.
  4. Meagain, Whatever and whoever is there will make it worth you while to come to the Pilgramage. Experiencing all the different equipment and speakers is only part of the Pilgramage. IMO, the people and employees that make the journey are truly the icing on the cake. I listened to everything available, (including the "drum roll" that could be heard seven miles away), but the people are what made the trip. I think our drive time will probably be in excess of twelve hours. I am sure you will not be disappointed if you attend. Besides, we definitely need to increase the number of females in attendance.[Y]
  5. I NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS PLEASE........... I talked to Michael last night and he is experiencing some serious anxiety over this trip. He even told me he is not good at "vacations". He said, "Okay I will tell you the truth, I am not really that "laid back" guy people think I am. I'm really high strung." Any suggestions on what we can do to get him to relax and enjoy his time down here? Maybe he should drink the "Kool Aid".
  6. Michael, I did not receive your email????? BTW, you will have round the clock access to a laptop computer that has wireless internet, as well as the "family" computer in the kitchen area. So...you will probably break 13,000 without even trying.
  7. Hey Michael. I'm up tonight, barely. I'm having a serious upper respiratory attack, although it is probably stress related. I have been sick for the last three days, working outside in the cold and basically have very little of my voice left at this point. In case anyone else reads this...I'm not whining, just stating the facts. We have about two hours of work tomorrow to complete this irrigation project for one of our clients and then we will have two weeks off to play. The weather should be in the mid 50's to 60's during the day and mid 20's to mid 30's at night. I would still pack a few hot weather items just in case. BTW, I would be more nervous about coming to stay in this house with nine "psychos". You will go home at the end of your visit here and feel "way normal". On a more serious note, I do not like to fly. I do not "take-off", "in flight" or "landing", therefore we will be driving to Indy in June of 07. I don't think there is anywhere I want to visit bad enough to fly. I need you to send me your cell phone number, if you have one, so we can find you once you get to the airport. There are two different levels to exit the airport and I need to know which one you will be exiting.
  8. Mommy Cat has been fixed too. When I took her to the vet to get her fixed (at about six weeks old) he asked, "What's her name?". I said we just call her Mommy Cat, she doesn't really have a name. He wrote Mommy Cat on her chart and that's been her name ever since. She is almost twelve years old. She is a wonderful cat. She sits by the door and waits for us to let her outside to do her "business". We have never had a litter box.
  9. Dtel and I were impressed with every pair of Heresys we heard while in Hope. IMO, they offer the biggest bang for the buck.
  10. Ok... Lets go for it; "Git 'er done": Solid State amps are the best; Tubes suck and those little "glowing: things burn my fingers anyways... The best way to use all your Klipsch stuff is to put them in a really, really, huge big pile facing you at about 3 feet away (you need that 1 watt at 1 meter thing anyways); turn everything up to volume nine, sit in the middle with all your rowdy friends, and put the keg at stereo center (very important as to not alter your "sweet spot" when trying to get a refill, throw on Lynerd Skynerd's "Sweet Home Alabama"; and make sure everyone's got them blow-up air guitars. If it don't sound right, turn it up some more....... [H][<)] So... Spank me,..... Beat me, bite me, burn me, talk dirty, chain me to a tree, but.. respect me in the morning (and don't take that last piece of pizza, and while you're up, get that keg out of the pool... I paid a deposit on that bad boy, fer' goodness sakes!!!). Politically correct version - I'm talking to a non-gender challenged female (my wife with a rolling pin in her hands...) who just walked in on this post gave me the really "that ain't funny, don't even think about it" look...[6] Oh well..... Hey Groomlake, Let us know when you guys decide what night you will be staying in "our neck of the woods". I probably need to make reservations for you and the family within the next week or so. I don't know what the "demand" for rooms will be in Picayune, MS for January 1 or 2.[] We will have to listen to that "pile" of nine speakers in our living room while you and the family are in town. I think we can "rustle up" a few beers. We may have a problem securing the "blow up guitars". [] Maybe some left over pvc pipe will work in lieu of the guitars?[]
  11. Michael you can be the DD the night we all go out. However, you can not post any photographs of Lynn and I without our "express written permission.[] Afterall, we wouldn't want anyone to think we would engage in any type of inappropriate behavior.[]
  12. It will be warmer during the day. I will check NOAA later and post more on the temps the week you will be here. BTW, our cat "Mommy Cat" does the same thing. She will sit by the door waiting to go in or out, when we open the door she looks at us like we are stupid. So...we close the door and she sits in the same place until we open it again, then she runs out. As you well know, cats have their own personality. I still believe Macy will come home when she is ready. Cats are also resilient, she will find food and shelter. And...she may just come running if you call her name...Mommy Cat does. BTW, Mommy Cat has never had babies, that's just what we call her, because she "rules the house".
  13. Michael, It looks like it will get here right before you do, so you and dtel will have a "new toy" to play with.[H]
  14. What's going on? Not sure if that's the name or not?
  15. We also have a front load washer and dryer. Whirlpool duet system. It is much more efficient that the top loaders. Comforters, blankets...all fit into the washer and come out clean with no problems. We purchased the "Duet" right after Katrina (when our houseguests became residents). The Duet services laundry for nine and does a real good job of keeping up. The large washing capacity sure helps. We also did not purchased the "pedestals", they are a rip off. Clothes baskets fit nicely under the doors, just like Meagain said. Now...if only they could fold and put away the clothes for you...[*-)] Actually, I am particular about my laundry so that may not be a good idea. Jeff, it's good to hear from you again. DWI, the Mercedes.
  16. arf, Thank you so much. Dtel is so overwhelmed by the generosity of the people on this forum, as am I. Meeting a lot of the members of this forum in Hope and the Klipsch employees showed me something that I had not seen in a long time. Genuine friendship and compassion. You guys, all of you are the best of the best... Dtel loves the "big brown truck". When he and the neighbor see "the big brown truck" they always say, "Someone is getting a new toy". This will be one of the times the "toy" is for dtel.[] As for Dr. Who and Rivendell...are you guys trying to hijack dtel's thread?[]
  17. Oldbuckster, I was thinking this might be the year I ask dtel for that new Corvette.[] I mean I did agree to remarry him on December 9 and my birthday is Christmas Day, so he would be getting a break. One gift for all three ocassions.[] I better be quiet, he might ask me for one.[:#]
  18. Great...now I feel guilty that you are leaving to come down here.[:S] BTW, our low temperature for Monday night is forecast to be 28, so be sure to bring a few warm clothing items.[]
  19. No wonder your house may collapse![] Didn't you say awhile back that your house/living area was small? Maybe I am confusing you with someone else, that is possible these days. Why not pick up more Khorns and liquidate some of the other stuff? Have you heard the Heresy III's?
  20. Meagain, It is an further "hike" from S. Mississippi but everything goes as planned we will be attending also. If you can plan to spend a few extra days in Indy before the Pilgramage. A few of us forum members actually arrived in Hope on Wednesday, even though the "mixer" wasn't until Friday night. That gave us a little extra time to spend with friends we had met on the forum. It also gave Trey a few extra hands setting up the "circus tent".[] Those guys looked like they knew what they were doing. I wonder, how many of them had ever set up a "circus tent" before then? Meeting everyone in Hope was a wonderful experience. I sure hope you guys make it.
  21. I am not well versed in all things audio. But here goes, depending on what size room you have (or will have) I can tell you...the Heresy IIIs are TOTALLY AWESOME. If I were looking for something brand new for a reasonable size room I would purchase Heresy III's, providing I had the funds available. Dtel and I looked at each other in complete awe when the Heresy III's were playing in the listening room in Hope. I thought you had purchased Khorns at one time? I haven't read or posted a lot the last six months. Our triple wedding/vow renewal December 9 has me running in circles. (Not that I need a reason to "run in circles")[] Forte II's are awesome speakers...Colter picked up his first pair of Forte II's recently and posted a review under his "birthday" thread. The Cornwall III's are also awesome speakers, it just depends on what you are trying to achieve. We use the Forte's in a 6.1 setup and the Cornwall's for 2 channel. I am sending you a pm.
  22. IB Going, Tim. BUT, the old hide will accompany me on the 2007 trip. (she is my golden ear, and speaks her (ear) mind ) Gulp! Can't wait for her comments on an RF-7 system at volume. Shudder! Needless to say, I can't take her out for audio very often. So, as one AR. delegation, we four will be taking two vehicles. Perhaps we could meet in the Rock and Lynn could ride with Seti? .......Or I could ride with him? On second thought, No, I wouldn't do that to buddies like the you & Seti. You guys would never be the same. [] Many thanks for the offer of transportation, but could I ask help from both of you in taming the audio shrew" when we get there? Thanks in advance.[] BTW: She will bring fever per your request. Regards, tc So...Lynn??? will be making the trip. Let's see, does Indy have a "French Quarter"?.[]
  23. Way to go wuzzer. Dtel was so nervous about meeting everyone for the first time on our trip to Hope. He was on pins and needles until we met up with IndyKlipschFan, Coytee, Mike 2..., Larry C and a few others for dinner on Wednesday night. Dtel's anticipation must have been obvious to all the others. Indy, whom we had never met before took one look at Elden and said, "Man, chill out, it's gonna be ok". Thanks Indy I needed that, because dtel was about to drive me crazy. Then...dtel won the Cornwall's. I thought we were going to have to pick him up off the ground. When Trey announced his name, dtel just sat in his chair shaking his head in total disbelief. Trey had to tell him to come up to the stage. So...the excitement continues. I can assure you and your wife that you will not meet a finer group of people anywhere ever again. The people on this forum, as you well know are like family to us. Wuzzer it will be an honor to meet you and your wife.
