  1. dtel was trying to send our mailing address. I will send it now. Check in a minute for a pm and let me know if you get it.
  2. Congratulations, I am so glad your speakers finally arrived. We met this fellow in Hope. He and his brother are two of the most well behaved, well versed young men I have ever met. Paul, you and your wife should be very proud of this young man, which I know you are. Take everyone's advice, take care of your ears (you don't need to play those Heresy's loud anyway) and take good care of your equipment and your children will be enjoying it one day. It was a pleasure to meet you and your brother in Hope.
  3. Congratulations and Best Wishes for another 25 years together. You must love each other very much to have withstood the "test of time."
  4. Tell your sister-in-law that I had noticed the ommission of "Chalmatian" in the listing of accents . . . [] You guys don't miss anything.[]
  5. Some of my best friends are from Da Parish. I am waiting for Rocky & Carlos to reopen. I hope the menu doesn't change. My last exam my cholesteral was a mere 180, so I am due for another heap of their onion rings and a shrimp po-boy. Boom, I think Rocky and Carlos may have reopened, and it is cleaner than ever.[] Although that never stopped us from eating there. They have the best onion rings around and guess what...I know how to cook onion rings like that. I might have to do that soon. BTW, Boom I did not get the email from you, so I sent you a pm. I didn't know that you had friends in da Parish? That's where dtel grew up after his family was forced to move "outta da nint ward." We do not have HBO so a neighbor taped the Spike Lee Hurricane Katrina documentary for us. We watched the first two hours last night and I was laughing and crying at the same time. The accents were too much.[]
  6. My sister in law (that lives with us since Katrina) just read this thread. She thinks it is hilarious. BTW, she is from Da Parish, ya know. She told me I hadda put dat in wit da accents in the area, because "Da Parish" haz itz own accent if ya know what a mean? I figer some of ya know what Da Parish means, if not some of r local yokels will surely tell yall.
  7. The saying came about because if a crawfish is boiled correctly you can separate the tail and the head. You then pinch the very end of the tail and the tail meat will come out clean, no peeling, as with shrimp. You then "squeeze" the head between your fingers, while sucking and the spicy juices and fat will come out. Thus you have "pinch da tails and suck da heads". All you yankees now know how to eat a crawfish however, I must warn you it takes a lot of practice to do it correctly.[] Now, as far as proper English, us Southerner's are taught proper grammar in school, applying it in real life down here can be a bit tricky. The accents vary greatly within even a thirty mile radius. Everything from Cajun, Ninth Ward, Yat, Southern, Red Neck, and True Country accents can be experienced by driving 20 minutes up or down the road. And yes, all of the above accents sound surprisingly different. In my best southern drawl, "You all are welcome at our dinner table anytime." And I say that with all sincerity.
  8. I forgot to mention the motion things, clapping the hands, rolling the hands, bouncing on your lap, and all the other exciting things little kids love. Amy, I was counting on you to pick up the slack.[] Did you forget the motion thing too? Thebes, with all your great story telling abilities, where is your input on this?[*-)]
  9. Clarence, the frog legs are disgusting. I did try them fried, but couldn't get past the fact that they are frogs. On our trip to Hope to pick up the Cornwall III's dtel and I stopped to eat in N. Louisiana. I ordered a seafood platter and the platter came with six frog legs, two shrimp, 2 oysters the size of a nickel, six pieces of fried catfish and one something or another that was supposed to be a stuffed crab. I almost got sick when I saw the frog legs on the seafood platter. I am sorry, but I do not consider frogs to be seafood. I really don't like frogs and snakes, well snakes scare the heck out of me. For some reason, the frog legs are still "jiggly" after being fried. Now, the crawfish, that's what I'm talking about. Kev, the oranges actually have a sweet and spicy taste. I was surprised. Kind of like the watermelon and salt idea that was discussed in another thread.
  10. Whacked? Now Kev, us southerners would consider that an insult if we didn't know how you yankee's are?[] That pot of crabs has corn on the cob, boiled potatoes, seasonings and crabs. You yankees don't eat corn or potatoes or lobster or king crab?[*-)]
  11. I think you guys "missed the point".[]
  12. ttrhp and Kev, Congratulations to all of you. Hang on, cuz you are in for a long ride. Kind of like a roller coaster. Thank goodness there are a lot more ups than downs. Best wishes.
  13. This is very close to the version that has been handed down to our three daughters and four grandchildren. Patty cake, patty cake Baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can Roll it, pat it, mark it with a T and put it in the oven for Todd and me. I didn't realize there were so many versions of Patty Cake. Where is Amy when we need her?[]
  14. I really appreciate all the input from you guys and I would have to agree with the statement that the Forte II is like the smart *ss little brother to the Cornwall. Our new Cornwall III's are very sweet sounding, however I am honestly surprised at a side by side comparison of the Forte II with the Cornwall III's. Most of you guys that have actually had the opportunity to listen to both sets of speakers are right on in your assessments. I do believe the Cornwall III is a marked improvement over the previous Cornwall's, more particularly in the bass. The highs and mid-ranges are also very realistic. (This opinion is based on one previous audition of Cornwall's in a "not so favorable" listening environment.) Our 2 pair of Forte IIs are 20+ years old and are all factory original parts. That being said, the Cornwall IIIs rock and roll. However I do believe the Forte IIs will be knocking on their back door when we finally get around to "upgrading" the "smart *ss quadruplets"
  15. I am guessing Dtel's wife thought it meant Matthew 4:19 and Dtel thought Fish was waiting for the clock to strike 4:20 []. Am I close? [:^)] That's what i thought. I think I read about that 4:20 thing on a post a good while back, really. I think that 4:20 thing was made up after my wild years ? Elden, What do you mean "after your wild years"? You have got to be kidding! You shouldn't mislead these folks like that![]
  16. Dtel and I hope you guys a have a great trip. We will keep you in our prayers. Tell Caroline hang on tight. You guys have fun and be safe.
  17. Almost but not quite. After all I am a legend in my own mind, and I soon ascertain whats going on, the damned truants have been holding their fire until I left town. No longer charged with having to respond to threads about music, exploding amps and hot chicks, they are free to indulge themselves in just playing with toys. Swap it, trade it, buy it, roll-around on the floor with it. Schools out and we are going to play. Okay, okay you caught us. It sure has been fun just playing, sure you don't want to join us for awhile![]
  18. Gilbert, I am having a "spitting Coke at the computer monitor" moment. This story beats all I have ever heard on this forum. And it is a true story nonetheless. We need to give you the "Forum Best Story" award for this one, and to think you want to give Professor Fini and Travis all the credit. Nope...no sir...no addiction here![]
  19. Woah... I haven't heard that joke since probably junior high, and the person who works right across from me said it just yesterday. Now that's freaky. Amy, how you can be sure it's not coincidence?[*-)] Or something to do with us discussing numbers?[*-)] Or maybe it's both or neither?[*-)] Strangest thing, you haven't heard that joke about time since you were in junior high, we are discussing time and all of a sudden the joke is coming at you from two different ways?[*-)]
  20. Kev, Post #1313 for you was your post on the first page of this thread?
  21. Um . . . 1 boy + 3 girls = 4 kids Thank you WS65711, I was having an ADD moment in the story telling. I should have written, "At the time of these revelations we had three grandchildren(1 boy, two girls), although we have since been blessed with a fourth grandchild, a girl." Fish, thank you, also.[]
  22. When dtel became interested in Klipsch I listened to everything he told me about the speakers, the company and PWK, he really didn't give me any choice about the "listening to him" part. He made sure he had my attention. I thought okay, okay here we go again. He's just wanting to buy more hi-fi stuff. We purchased a mid-range Synergy set up, (2 fronts, 2 rears and a center). Even in the $1200-$1700 price range there was nothing comparable for quality of sound. I thought the "bug" had passed when we purchased the Synergys. As dtel became more active in the forum, he talked incessantly (you guys know who you are) about KIipsch, and the Heritage line and PWK. All the while demanding my full undivided attention, as much as possible. (I am ADD so the full attention thing takes a little while sometimes, especially if I forget to take my medicine) Once I started reading on the forum regularly I became a member. I am of course, in the minority here because I am a female. That being said, I am completely in awe of the genius of PWK. The more I read and hear about this man, the more fascinating he becomes. One comment we heard from a lifelong resident of Hope(and not a Klipsch employee), "Everyone knew he was the town genius". I have not seen another company as generous and caring as Klipsch.(again, I don't mean the new Cornwall III's) The relationship they have developed with ELF, a regular company sponsored gathering for "fans", a forum that mainly serves the fans(we are a good marketing team for them!!!) just to name a few. Even the lowest of the lowest Klipsch product outpaces its competitor. Finally, the quality of the Heritage line speaks for itself and is by far the highest quallity product line Klipsch has. I do not believe there is another product(of any kind) being made in America that can compete with the quality coming out of the factory in Hope, AR. Just don't ask me about the "electronic" stuff.[]
  23. My friend #2047 is Ms. Judy McBay, she and Richard Baker, the guy in the paint booth are in charge of "finishing." If I am correct, Ms. Judy, has 28 years with Klipsch, finishing. She is the person that gets the "raw" cabinets ready for paint, stain, lacquer. Ms. Judy personally runs her hand over every square inch of a Heritage product before it is painted, stained, lacquered, etc. I believe we were told her hands were tested and she can feel l/1000 of an inch difference in wood. Pretty unbelievable huh? Under Two Channel, The New Cornwall III's are in the house, is a certificate the good folks at the plant had signed for us. Surprisingly, I do not consider them to be big speakers, although most women probably would. In fact, I am honored to have these speakers in my home. Actually, the new LaScalas are also beautiful. We saw a pair on the plant tour in Walnut Lacquer and they were spectacular.
