  1. Thanks for the comment Groomlakearea51,especially because I saw you post today in the garage forum regarding the Sansui. Those comments had me really second guessing the quality of my ears. Because as I said I am impressed with the Sansui, & at least in my room I do not find it to toooo cold, powerful & clear & not as warm as the Mc for sure, but a pretty decent sound all in all. 2. Ok, I have been trying out my Cornwals (that I dearly love) for the past couple of years with a wide variety of gear. Not quite yet able to afford my dream equipment like VRD's- Pcats- Mc275, 300B's etc. But I have had a tubed Conrad MV55, Mc2505, Jolida, & a whole slew of the vitage quality receivers -Harmon Kardon 930, -marantz, Pioneer 1250-, etc. etc....most all used with a Cary SLP30 tube preamp that I am still using (thank you very much Speakerfritz). It has all been a great leaning & growing experience that I am happy I pursued...Buttttt I just dont seem to be able to ever get completly settled or comfortable with my sound allthough it has improved a lot. Does the quest for audio nervana go on for infinity or do some of you actually find contintment with your system? Adding fuel to the flustration & confusion, I have on some occasions made the mistake of selling one piece of gear before auditioning it side by side with the newly acquired piece. I dont know about you but my ears memory is just not good enough to know for sure which piece of equipment I thought was best among the top performers. Of course I can hear & appreciate the obvious differnce between the lower cast stuff & the Mc 2505 for example. But I am trying out a Sansui AU717 amp. for the past few days & I am quiete impressed, but that nagging voice in my head says if you still had the Mc here to directly compare wth the Sansui....???... Know what I mean..? [*-)] Cornman
  3. Yahoooo---- a set of Jubs in Austin...Hint hint Travis, sounds like it's time for another Klipsch gathering in Austin.[H] Cornman
  4. Thanks guys I will ck out both of those products. Cornman
  5. OB, I do not have a cd cleaner. And your question just beggs another. I would like to hear other opinions on the use of said cleaners. Are they any good or just snake oil that might do more harm then good to our cd players... ??? Seems like there was no consensus last I heard. Cornman
  6. Looking for a test tone or some sound in Mono that will help me adjust my input levels so as to get them ballanced. Anyone have a link for a download or some other suggestion for a source. All my cd's are in stereo & I have no mono switch. I do have n SPL meter. ? Cornman
  7. Gotta love that expression Mark uses on his new juicy site. I about fell out of my chair laughing on that one. Now if I could just get up the scratch to hear some of that "Juicy Swing" Good one Mark -way to go .[H] Cornman
  8. I have a HK930 in very good condition. Will sell for $200.00 + shipping. Cornman
  9. RFP it may just be the photo, but it looks like your Khorn's are not in corners. Is that an illusion or have you built backs on them? I love your rugs. Cornman
  10. Dr. Who, I looked at the Crown link you provided, & do not see a output impedence rayting or a dampening # listed. Perhaps I missed It, but either way what is a good impedence & dampening # to provide good effect? Cornman
  11. The best I have found (& I do quite a bit of wood work) Is "Howards Restore a Finish" you can purchase at Home depot. Just lightly steel wool with the grain & rub on a couple of coats. I think you will be very happy. Good luck, Cornman
  12. Been wonder the same thing myself Daddy Dee. Some one post one of those extreme high teck questions & she will probably pop up..[] Cornman
  13. Mark your exactly right. His writing style was like Hunter Thompson. I am glad you reminded me of that. Cornman
  14. I was looking at J1st. Cav. 's web site . showing off all his fantastic gear (great site Jim) when I came on one of his favorite links to http://www.meta-gizmo.com/ (Harvey Rosenberg) . Whow what a read, incredible wit & wisdom about audio & life told in a Ken Keaseyish style. The more I read the more I was completely captured. With eye's bugging out of my head after about 4hour's of reading I finally had to rest, to continue another day. As with a lot of things I may be the last kid on the block to have discovered this Sage. But just in case there are others who have not heard of Mr. Gizmo your "Aural Matrix" awaits you. "Grunt if you understand what I mean" Cornman
  15. A big public thanks to "Kaiser Set Say" for the Maxell poster. Looking for a frame to fit it now. I really enjoyed our phone conversation the other night, except it made me want my own "Man Cave" -- someday. Speaking of music- here's my recommendation for new music. Corrine Bailey Rea-"Like a star" she just cares me away!!! You might also catch her on the "Live at Abby Road" show - great stuff & she write's her own material. Thank's again Tim. Later, Cornman
  16. Ok Allen, we know your out there.[] Cough up the review on that new amp or you may be hearing parrots in your sleep tonight.[] Cornman
  17. Are you out there Allen? I am still waiting to read your review on the new amp. Cornman
  18. Silver what a lucky man you are to have such fine gear. I have a few questions that I hope will help me in my selection of my next Amp. Have you used any other Mc. amps, especially one's with autoformers or tubes such as the 2505 or 250, or 275? Secondly can you describe the differences you hear between the Eico & the VRD's? All thought or suggestions appreciated. Play on.... Cornman
  19. Interesting thread Erick. I have no experience with the Dynaco's so I am asking - with all things being equal (condition & same upgrades) is the MkIII generally considered to have a better sound then the Dynaco st70? Cornman
  20. Luther now I see why we haven't heard much from you lately. New gear to play with, you all ways have the coolest new toys. Hope to visit with you again, i will give you a call. Cornman
  21. Have a great one Travis. Any day now I expect your name to change to Jubilielawyer. all the best to you. Cornman

  23. I have been working at this Golf course for 14 years & have never hit a ball...but the Cornwall's get played most ever night. If any of you would like to play a round at the Onion Creek Club, let me know I will get you a tee time. Cornman
  24. Hi Fritz, since my name is also -Joe-( with the Cary Pre.Amp) thought I would also chime in.Now Fritz we all know you just recently sold a gorgeous pair of all most new La Scalas.[] So whats your plan for this pair? I ask because I have a friend in NYC looking to buy a pair. Also just out of curiosity did you purchase these in New Jersey? There was a pair on on Ebay located in New Jersey that the seller removed the add on today. I am still loving the Cary pre, thanks again for the great deal. Joe - aka Cornman
  25. I have not heard VRD's -"yet"- (are you listening DWIlawyer?)[], but just had to say thanks to all that have given there opinion. This is just the kind of comparison I have been looking for, & have grown to expect from this great forum. Carry on gentleman.... Cornman
