  1. Nothing like a vintage Ferrari also...
  2. My favorite part of the car is the bat flare for the aerodynamic headrest.
  3. We stopped into the museum to look at the classic racing cars like this corvette.
  4. Photo of the day... I like this picture with David. The car is okay too!
  5. My son decided to go also...I think he had a good time.
  6. I didn't think I was going to get a discount on anything at the Speedway but it was worth a try. We had a great time at the races with my friends Eric and Greg. This is the first Nascar race I have seen. I went to the time trials last year and decided I had to see all the engine turn and hear them rumble. Music to my ears. X5's worked great for hearing protection as usual. With the addition of muffs the cars really sounded good.
  7. Too bad the "what are you listening to" thread isn't located down here...I never get down here in this section... Compression in excess is the death of music. I have a Daughtry CD that is excellant music from a performance standpoint but it gives me a headache to listen to it. The duty cycle is approaching 50%. Well that would be square tone, but you get my point. As a rule Jazz and Classical music is usually not as compressed. Rock is almost always compressed. Most people don't get it because they have had crappy speakers all their life and wouldn't know what a snare chopping hard would really sound like. Thank God for compression drivers. What really surprises me is that more people don't complain about Apple selling MP3/AAC files at such low sample rates. It is too bad that super audio formats haven't taken off. How am I going to purchase good music 10 years from now at this rate? (no pun intended) I refuse to not own a hard copy disc of any music I buy. DVD audio could be stellar if the industry wasn't so self serving. Herbie Hancock is a big multichannel advocate. He spoke at the opening of an AES convention in L.A. in 2000 when multichannel was just coming out. Evidently it fell on literally deaf ears since the studios didn't take him seriously. I would love to see more concert DVD's focus on innovative multi-channel mixes. As I rant this early morning... The gov't should control audio compressors not everything else ( I won't mention handguns and healthcare Amy)...
  8. How can you sleep through that movie... I was going to throw a zinger at you but decided to be nice... GREAT MOVIE...especially if you have a daughter. One of my top picks. "You can be assured...I will find you!"
  9. If you are looking for something more recent John Mayer's first album is a winner - Room for Squares. Are you only looking at Motown? For some newer blues pieces Joe Bonamassa (sp?) is increadible. Of course Stevie Ray Vaughn any of his stuff... the Carnegie Hall Live piece and Live - Alive are increadible. Have you tried Pandora's Box? This is a free internet search which allows you to listen to artists in different genre's you pic. You can find some new artist easily with this service. You rate the artists thumbs up or down and it sorts more titles for you. You might try it for finding new stuff.
  10. What are they printing these days... The selection of CD's is poor any more and declining. I suspect Best Buy won't be selling CD's by next year in any real volumes.
  11. Jeff Beck is probably one of the most original guitarists. I think it has been hard for the masses to follow him because each of his albumns we almost a different genre. Eitherway he is a true talent. Win, Did you have to catch a flight? Too bad you missed him. I have never seen him live in person.
  12. Nice shot of Kowloon accross the bay. Was that taken from the top of HK Island?
  13. The magnetic value doesn't change. It has something to do with the phantom power (VDC bias) to the mic I would guess. I am assuming this is an electret mic now. You probably have a shorted diode draining the battery or something like that.
  14. Thanks Bill for the compliment! It was great to be able to design a system "no holds barred" with reason. Lot's of large crossover components, mucho magnets to give you that snap. You might also experiment with a crossover frequency at 40 Hz to the sub. I suspect you will have more control of the attack with the 6" drivers in combination. Maybe add 2 -3 dB of bass boost in this crossover range. When you think about it...Bass is usually mixed to 2 or 3 channels so 6 or 10 6" drivers actually has more cone area and motor strength than a 15 and 12 inch sub drivers.
  15. You may have noticed some changes in the works for Klipsch. With the economy effecting the world, people are reacting and changing the way they live. Klipsch is also evolving in the way we reach our audience. There is a new virtual community out there on the internet that we need to be a part of. That way we can keep in touch with our Peeps. Many of our Klipsch employees have developed accounts on MySpace, Facebook and Tweeter to blog about their lives and the lives of others at Klipsch. I have recently opened an account on Facebook that you can find if you search ProfessorThump. I opened it up for Klipsch announcements but to be honest I have had a lot of fun catching up with friends and family. Some friends were even in high school with me and I hadn't talked to them for 30 years. So it can be real fun catching up. Check out our new Facebook page and link to the announcements. By doing so you will help us get on the Google maps for user hits when others search. Post a comment if you like and link things that you might feel is important. My Tech Blogs and Professor Thump Blogs will also be posted on Facebook from time to time. By clicking on the link you will let Google and other search engines find our thoughts and cool stuff. As usual thank for supporting Klipsch. Your loyal following is what makes us tick!
  16. I suspect that the iPhone remote adapters will be a dime a dozen by Xmas. And you are correct that the mic would be to low or just fugly!
  17. Yes... they are restocking Amazon...
  18. We may have inventory on Klipsch.com as soon as this week. We are getting a lot of web interest and emails so I suspect we will run out of stock quickly until we can keep up with the demand.
  19. Nothing has been announced...yet...
  20. The coil may have been stuck in the gap or you fix the contact point to the amp. IMHO...
  21. Klipsch is introducing earbuds equipped with an inline three-button microphone and remote system that easily handles the voice and/or music control of Apple's iPhone and iPods. The Image S4i works seamlessly with the iPhone 3GS, third-generation iPod shuffle, second-generation iPod touch, fourth-generation iPod nano, and the iPod classic 120 GB. Klipsch says the S4i remote is among the first to be fully compatible with the Apple VoiceOver feature on the third generation iPod shuffle, which allows you to hear the name of the playlist, song or artist with just the press of a button. Proceed to this site.
  22. .................Yeah...........Dangerous stuff! I think I should test it in the Klipsch lab to make sure that it is still safe. You can never be too sure. It is safest if you send an entire bottle and let me break the seal. That way I know the whether the contamination is from the juice or from one of your other bottles. If it is not this bottle I will have to test the others I am afraid. The whole thing could be contagious! Dangerous stuff my friend...
