  1. theryugobuddy, sorry I forgot to add about the 4 sides. Side one is Dylan songs, side two is Band material, side three is Band and Dylan combined and side four is Dylan. Great stuff and mighty fine harp blowin' by Dylan. The synergy is awesome.
  2. Very good candidates this week. Thanks to all. I will nominate one that I had forgotten I had until I was looking for another album and came across it. It is a 2 album live recording done in 1974. Location not specified on the album. Anyway I put it on the old TT for a listen and it is perfect. Probably never been played more than ten times since 74. This album captures Bob Dylan and the Band together in a fabulous concert. Before the Flood Asylum Records I would give it a 97 Dick. It has a good beat and you can dance to it. Heck, you can even drink beer to it. Make that a 98!
  3. No, I do not like good music. My dad liked good music. Hawaiian music 1942-1945. He did not like my music. Therefore my music is bad music. So, no, I like bad music. That Devil stuff. Just like Buckster.
  4. Heh, Heh, the UPS Big Brown truck just brought my Maxell poster. Sent them the e-mail on 8-16. What great service. Maxell has a customer for life. Now, to find a fitting frame.
  5. Buckster, Finally made it to a town that sells them there DVD's. Saw a title you might be familiar with. The Last Waltz by the Band. I had seen the movie and VHS but never on DVD until now. Sweet!!! Excellent sound with a plethora of wonderful musicians. ( And I still don't know what Joni Mitchell is talking about)!!! Thanks for the reminder.
  6. Hey thanks. I'll check into those. That's why it helps to get feedback on some of these. I got an ELP DVD and the sound is atrocious. Can't believe they would allow it's release.
  7. dtel, I get tickled when I read your signature line because my son read that quote at his grandpa's funeral. My wife's dad was 88 and that summed up his life to a tee.
  8. Check this out and the free one seems all that much better. http://www.artinaclick.com/item/framed.asp?pitem=37378
  9. Congratulations. I was 53 8-07. I think the signifigance of August birthdays has more to do with cold Decembers!!! Just to cheer you up , things will start occurring to you that up to now you have only heard about happening to others. I like to think of the opportunities we had to do some things in the 60's and 70's that really make people jealous today. So enjoy the day and welcome to the old fart section. Rock on!!!
  10. I don't think these are available on dvd or video........................ It's a Beautiful Day-It's a Beautiful Day Jessie Colin Young-Song for Juli Uriah Heep-Demon's and Wizards Black Oak Arkansas-Black Oak Arkansas (1971) Blue Oyster Cult-Blue Oyster Cult (1972)
  11. I just got a reply back stating that they would send one when they became available. I might have got on too late but I'll wait and see. That would be nice to have as I always thought that ad was so cool.
  12. Oh, congratulations to Klipsch on the aquisition. That old shed of PWK is gonna get mighty crowded now.
  13. That would be akin to solving the global warming issue. Carry on!
  14. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. 1978 Absolute waste of about 90 minutes of my life, back in the day.
  15. As usual great answers and to the point. That is kinda what I figured. The specs of the speaker should be fairly precise in the same time frame (months or year). The finish is really what we are talking about here. That answers that. Thank you.
  16. As soon as I get my Sub woofer on board I will be in the market for another set of Heritage speakers. My question pertains to the issue of serial numbers. Consecutive or not. Does it matter? Some of the heritage sp I see on E-bay and other sites have consecutive numbers (most probably) but there are some that are not. Should I be concerned? Would you eliminate a pair of speakers if they were not consecutive? Oh, if it matters, the speaker would in all likelihood be the Heresy line. Unless I could find a good deal on LaScala's. Thanks for any clarity on this.
  17. It's hard to kiss the lips at night, that chew your *** out all day............................
  18. I'll take two drum's anyday and no limit to the guitars. Three or four at least. Ah yeah.
  19. you helped shape my lousey taste in music] Now Buckster, don't be so hard on yourself.
  20. I'm probably too late to respond to this but I had a run-in with a little rash called Shingles. I basically missed from Thursday until Monday. But I thought this was a thread I could add to if you are listening in alphabetical order. I will say this now and after the laughter dies down I will stand by it. Stormy End by Baabra is a killer! There I said it. Something about 1972, Harding College, freshman.................................... REO Speedwagon--Keep Riding the Storm Out All of the Chicago Some of Neil Diamond are killer when he was back in the long-hair phase. Some of the rest have been mentioned more than once. Burton Cummings was the Guess Who there for a while. What a voice. I couldn't throw away a one without a listen though, just to be able to sleep at night. Gotta go. Got an appointment with a Calamine lotion bottle.
  21. Buckster, I'll stick with Southern rock on this one and recommend a great band that never got the recognition or breaks. As an opening act for the Allmans and Marshall Tucker's they more than held their own. More of a Mayall blues influence. And they were mentioned in the lyrics of a Charlie Daniel song if ya think about it for a bit!
  22. Nice review of a great artist. I read several weeks ago in a press release for this DVD that this is the way Steve had envisioned his work but of course the technology was not there at the time. His ideas on the placement of the sound and different instruments. And now he can present it as intended. The DDS 5.1 and all. Can't wait to get ahold of this one. Pulse and now this. Good time to have the system for the old rock and roll. I'll bet Satriani on there is great.
