  1. 2" layer of acoustic foam behind the curtians 2" thick X 10' X 4' acoustic side panels
  2. Looking from the back to the front - 102" Screen Goo Lite Gray screen. Mitsubishi 4500 High Def Projector. Klipsch Cornwalls and Academy for the front, Klipsch Herseys for the rear duty.
  3. Wow!, Paul's own unit!, Sweet! I notice that it is wired for the Diff or Sum, that would be an interesting switch to have! I do have the Three Channel setup myself. 2 Walnut Klipschorns and a Walnut Belle, all being driven by a Fisher 500C that has the built in Center Channel output. This particular unit appears to give you the option of having the summed outputs of the left and right channel (A+ or the difference between the left and right channel (A- being sent to the Center speaker. There would be differences in the signal being reporduced by the Belle depending on which position the bottom switch is set on.
  4. On Kornerhorns 15 watts is more than enough. Especially if you have a capable sub and have it crossed over at the right frequency.
  5. John, If you are tired of those ugly, old, black, beat up Cornwalls you can always sell them back to me! I could use them now! Jim
  6. What you need is a rebuilt Fisher 500C!!
  7. I purchased a Conquest from EPIK in June 07. I must agree with Jacksonbart, the thing is built like a brick $hithouse! Output is tremendous! I'd buy another one in a minute.... if I needed another one!!!
  8. Try an Epik Conquest or two if you are insane!!!
  9. After I looked closed at the schematic, I realized all of the heaters were in series on the 12AX7s... had a bad tube. Unit is playing just fine now.
  10. I have the 222A Sam's Photofact schematics and component layouts (8 pages I believe). It been a loooong time since I had to get into a schematic. I'm hoping I can get a bit of help as to where to look and what to replace. I have a very old scope and a couple of good fluke digital multimeters, a Weller soldering iron and lots of parts. This was brought up to working order by NOS Valves several years ago. I can't send it back for a going over as cash is tight now. The filaments to V1, 2, 6 & 7 don't light and C3 isn't warm, so it appears to be some where in that area, maybe....
  11. thanks Gents....I believe its the KG 2.
  12. A friend recently purchased 5 Klipsch speakers 3 of them are Heresys. Can someone ID the one in the attached pictures? I have been looking for the discontinued speakers page but couldn't find it. Thanks! This is the back view, tiles are approx12" each.
  13. Good Evening! I have a H.H. Scott 222A that was rebuilt by NOS Valves a few years back and it worked well. I have it connected to a pair of Cornwalls ('79s) and was playing it very low last night and all seemed Ok. When I came down this morning to start work I turned on the unit and - No Sound!!! I took the cover off and saw that the filaments for tubes 1, 2, 6 & 7 (the 12AX7s) don't light up and C3 isn't warm. If I turn the volume up all of the way clockwise I can just hear Iris DeMent coming from both speakers. Any ideas from the experts as to where I should look? I have the bottom cover off. Yes, I have some experience and know to be careful of the lethal voltages lurking within.... Thanks!
  14. Build quality is excellent! Its big and heavy thats for sure! The ports seem kind of flimsey though. Had it connected with a pair of Cornwalls and listened to the pods emerging scene from WOTW. Pretty impresive to say the least. Also listened to Saint Seans Symphony #3 for the organ, wonderful! I will have to experiment with placement to get the best response and I will need to integrate it properly to the mains. I also need to find good demo material, ideas anyone?
  15. I am waiting, not patiently, but I am waiting... Delivery is sometime between now and 5 pm today.....
  16. It appears to be a Texas sized sub... []

  19. EAR!, So would you recommend the Epik Conquest as a companion piece for my Kornerhorns and Bell Center? I've been looking for something to help the lower end. I've used an M&K200 Mark II for a while and it helps fill in the lower end but I would think that the Conquest will be several steps up in the chain. Thanks for your input!
  20. The Adcom amps might be a bit noisey. I had (and still have in the closet) an Adcom 555II amp that had too much hiss even when idiling. I did do the Cap mod but it did not help. What you will need is a very quiet amp. I have went to the tube route and can honestly say I don't know what iId do with more than 35 watts per channel! The Adcom is going into duty as a subwoofer amp bridged to 600 WPC. have fun! I too had 901s until i got a real set of speakers - Klipschorns!
  21. Sheltie, How much for the Dynakits?
  22. The Tripp-Lite model IS-500 units are not stepup/stepdown isolation transformers. So you'd have to have one of these and a variac to step down the voltage. Most of my H. H. Scott amplifiers run best at 105.5 volts. Here is the link for the Tripp-Lite unit: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-TRIPP-LITE-IS-500-FULL-ISOLATION-TRANSFORMER_W0QQitemZ330026500636QQihZ014QQcategoryZ32830QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
  23. I thought that the voltages were a bit high. The nominal AC line is 117VAC on the schematicand the schematic gives the voltage readings on test points at that nominal line voltage. My main concern it the voltage readings on the rest of the components in the circuit since if they are too high it would shorten the life of the components. I guess I could buy a variac to step the AC line down to the 106VAC level but that might be going a bit too far. i have notice that when the unit is running on the 122VAC from the wall i get a lot more volume from the 99A. As an experiment I set the variac at 106VAC and increased it to 122VAC, the volume increased as the AC line voltage increased. There didn't seem to be any audible distortion due to the increased AC voltage. I will try the 50 Ohm 5W resistor bit tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
