  1. CB, got the call tonight looks like back to Texas unless the wife pukes a hairball over it.
  2. Hey, get your hiney back down here, I want more money for the preamp! Glad it's all working out, that's the real ticket. Not brand, not money it's the, gag, synergy of all working together. TUNES, I want TUNES and it sounds like it's right there for ya brother. One more on the rocks. Make sure you make it back to Bob's so we can toss back one and chat as time was too short. Got the call tonight, my time in GA may be short.
  3. Going from here to there not bad; going from nowhere in TN thru NC to the Cigar Shack in rain, dark, kids...priceless. Dates? For me anytime except last week of March and first in April.
  4. Count me in but I'll warn you to keep a close eye on the horns, who knows a bear might make off with them in the middle of the night. Pay no attention if I'm gone as well.
  5. Yep sometimes we overlook the obvious. Does the soruce material have it available? Is source set to output the signal? Is it being transmitted over a connection that will accommodate it? Is the processor able to 'sense' it and not be locked into some other format?
  6. Mine is different but looking at your manual see page 34 and use AUTO select. Display should display what is being detected or you can memorize what you want to input to sense.
  7. Nope, wouldn't work, idea is totally off base. Send them here. Actually, if room is available I would think that you would do this just until you found just 1 more Forte II and you know where that would go. Seriously, as much as I like the Academy, nothing beats all dang 5 the same! With that said, I have been asked several times what I will be using for rears/surrounds when my extendo heritage is gone from the back. Frankly I am going to use the RS-7s that have been there forever since just as you say there just ain't that much in the back. To me it's all filler for movies and as for as muti channel music (and I LOVE "When Hell Freezes Over" DTS DVD) I just don't like the sound of what seems false to me. So my vote is same across if necessary sacrifice the rear. EDITED: But when I grow up I'll get another set of Belles for the rear so what does that say? Need or WANT? If the Fortes are priced right and you have the bucks, get'em!
  8. Thanks Mark and I apologize to the OP if I am getting away from the topic but... Since my current cartridge is rated at 2.5mV & 47kohms (H.O.M.C), I was curious what input range the Tercel would like to see. Sorry, I couldn't afford the LOMC option.
  9. Mark, I assume that Caveat #1 would apply also with the new Tercels you are in work on. My Jolida cd player stock advertises a line voltage output of 2 volts/47Kohms. Just curious how that would pair up with the Tercel in regards to when I switch inputs on the Peach between the two. Hey, it's raining here and we can't fly so I'm busy being busy.
  10. Seadog, you're saying that the analog TV that you have does not have a digital tuner? Perhaps I am mistaken but I thought the only analog tuners were the ones with a twist dial, you know clunk, clunk, clunk as you turn them. It has an electronic television tuning system with remote control, etc, (not a twist, clunk 1960's TV), but it is compatible with analog broadcast signals only, not the digital televison signals. Thus the need for the converter box for OTA digital broadcast signals. I stand corrected.....as usual.
  11. The one and only Cigarbum and I were chatting about a thread where folks had gotten together and enjoyed themselves over a song or three. I know there have been a few stalled attempts for a get together but here's one more. North Georgia mountains, couple of hours north of Atlanta, near the TN and NC border, Cigarbum's place. From what I've seen a decent place to set up several rigs. Just checking. Is there any forum members that could make a trip any time in the next couple of months? Thanks Bob, oh I didn't tell you I was gonna post this. Sorry, you're over it.
  12. "Watch out for that vaginal yeast infection" I must apologize but these two together in a thread and I gotta got ta go get a drink, uggggggh.
  13. d**n you, you are enjoying the 'fruit' while I salivate. I'm not familiar with your amp nor RFs but I can not wait to hear my Peach and Mc freshly updated together. Next week can not come soon enough. Think the wife would have a problem if I took a week vacation and locked myself down in the cave?
  14. Even as a squid, I am pretty familiar with the AF way of things. Spent my younger years as a Navy gunner on a AH-1 cobra with a Army colonel as my HAC and then spent a large portion of my career with the AF out Kadena, Misawa, Keflavik, Diego Garcia and other places. You darn golf bag/dorm guys have it made. I am the only sailor in my group of engineers on the Raptor that are all ex Air Force. Parachute Rigger, indeed! We called them panty riggers in the Nav. Just teasing, I've got a couple of thousand hours on helos as a SAR swimmer and I know you are worth your weight in gold! Everyone counts and best wishes, stay safe son. 15. Well, all I got to say is NICE and welcome to the forum. Bob's the man on orignal crossovers, groom on the veneer and a whole bunch of folks on everything in general. WOW.
  16. Seadog, you're saying that the analog TV that you have does not have a digital tuner? Perhaps I am mistaken but I thought the only analog tuners were the ones with a twist dial, you know clunk, clunk, clunk as you turn them.
  17. I got a response from Amazon...not worth posting, sigh.
  18. As a retired military member and a U.S> citizen, I thank him with all I have and wish the best. I am curious; that place in FL on your profile, use of the term squadron, etc. care to share branch of service info (or not) Fair winds and following seas shipmate.
  19. What if we put a list of email addresses (maybe a yahoo, gmail, etc) of all the folks that want one and ask if we could buy one?
  20. I just can't believe that today there are that many people, as claimed by the politicos, that a) use an antenna exclusively and have a TV that the tuner is not digital. I use an OTA but as backup for the DTV and less compression but we are talking HD now not SD OTA reception. The numbers just seem too high for me to believe. I grew up on a ranch in Texas where we were so far away that if we had OWNED a TV we couldn't receive it so I have been there. If someone has an analog tuner and OTA they should be praising someone that both have actually lasted this long. HUMMM, $40 coupon towards a $50 dollar STB or very slightly more new TV with digital tuner? You ain't watching OTA with an analog tuner on a TV worth several hundred right now. OR possibly I don't have a clue.
  21. Ok give it up kSa, in photo 2nd shelf down, 4th picture from left, left and right humans (not so sure about the middle one from here)
  22. Ahh, the glorius email from the the brown truck folks. The patient has been discharged by the good Dr Mark and is coming home to daddy.
  23. Think I might got home and smack the wife and kids around, figuratively speaking of course, someone lost my last one and I'ma blaming that female and those kiddos. Yep'pr had her all rolled up in the original tube from Maxell wait'n on a frame job. Frame job money comes along and poster was nowhere to be found. Tube all warm and cozy in my cave closet, no FRIGGIN poster!
