  1. I bought a pair of KG4.5's for a really low price and the reason is because one of the cabinets rattles during low frequencies. I took out the drivers and plastic port and found that the motor board is not attached securely to the right side panel. They are obviously glued together and I am thinking that the fix should be easy. Is there glue in a syringe or something like that that can be bought and used for this situation? I can get my hands on some clamps so I think I can do this easy enough. Any suggestions? Thanks, Tom
  2. Looking For Replacement Tweeter For KG4 Reply Edit Favorites Contact Any ideas? I have already emailed Bob Crites and will contact Klipsch Parts Dept. in the morning. I am looking for other resources just in case. I have posted in Garage Sale Forum also. Thanks, Tom
  3. Congratulations on your 100th. I too have enjoyed this forum and continue to enjoy it. I have checked out a few others that pertain to audio in general and find I have grown to appreciate the wit, knowledge, advice, and other info. that is provided by the members here. I should also point out the comraderie (not sure if I spelled that correctly) that is abundant here. There are some really good folk here. For awhile I thought I would never hit 100 posts. I felt it was a landmark happening when I did. Keep coming back and enjoy. Tom
  4. I'll just bide my time and look for a killer deal on some Khorns. I'll just have to get a bigger place with good corners.
  5. been listening to the blues ever since. I started having remorse before they were even sold. It was a difficult decision, but, one that had to be made. I feel like I lost a good friend. At least I still have my Cornwalls, Fortes, Heresys and KG4s among other various speakers to comfort me. Tom
  6. Be careful. It was a trick! They got me that way too! LOL
  7. I must say, "You are one wild and crazy guy."
  8. Marshall, thank you for the very professional job on this documentation. This will undoubtedly be a very useful tool for research on my personal quest for Heritage as well as other lines of Klipsch loudspeakers. I am especially pleased to see the documentation on the various drivers used. This is just too cool! A job well done. Again, thank you. Tom
  9. I believe UPS made a mistake and dropped that at the wrong address. I believe that was supposed to come here. That is cool, I have been on the hunt for a nice small cabinet with some goodies like that inside. Congratulations on your new acquisition. Tom
  10. Wow, those are beautiful. I have a Karlson cabinet with a 15" Altec full range speaker that is Mahogany. I have been toying with the idea of using it for a center channel with my Cornwalls. If I ever get around to rearranging my living room I will check that combo out. If it works well, I would ponder the thought of reveneering my Cornwalls with Mahogany. Any ideas of what something like that might cost? Tom
  11. I do believe you are correct on the years. The 000 at the end of the 79' is a little different isn't it? I haven't come across that before. There are many more on this forum with much more knowledge on these issues than me though. Tom
  12. Congrats! You'll love the Fortes. I have had mine in my bedroom system for a year or so now and I do believe they are the best speaker for that room that I have yet to come across. Waiting can be a drag. Especially when it is something like these. They will kill the KG4s. I own both and will probably never part with either. Tom
  13. The Heresy is 1984 week 25 #049 The Heresy II has me confused. Are you sure that is the correct serial #? It doesn't seem to jive with the info. on the site. Recheck that #. Tom
  14. Here is the link for serial # info. http://home.earthlink.net/~ivol/klipsch_cornwall/klipsch_date_codes.htm
  15. Yes, thank you Mr. Colter. I love this kind of stuff. Tom
  16. Wow, that is a beautiful turntable. Do you know the make and model of this baby?
  17. I was thinking no more than $500.00 for a mat and then a couple of hundred for some special Sharpies to color the edges of my cds and then a hundred or so for lead pellets to put in the corners of my room. What do you think? Maybe that will be enough or am I missing something?
  18. This thread got me spinning vinyl today. Something that I haven't done for months. Some of the questions Michael has asked are similar in nature to the ones I have been pondering. Especially the question on the difference in gain when comparing TT and other sources. One thing I have realized today is that alot of the yard sale lps that I have are junk. But, when I consider the cost I can't complain. I have done well by picking up lots of 100 and 200 for $20.00 and $30.00 respectively and am averaging one good lp out of every five or so. I am using a HK T60 with an inexspensive Grado cartridge. I am not sure of the model of Cart. since it came with the TT and I have not messed with it. I am pretty sure it would benefit me by upgrading said cart. but that will have to come at a later date. It's good to be spinning again. Tom
  19. Congratulations on the safe and fruitful journey. It's good to know that you and the Khorns made it home unscathed and happy. Those are beautiful looking Klipschorns. I am sure you will enjoy them for a very long time. Tom
  20. Seems to me that there is a large quantity of quality (audio) nuts on this forum! Tom
  21. Man, that is BEautiful. Color me green. Tom
  22. I own both and I do agree with everyone else. The Forte is a great speaker and I seriously doubt you would ever regret purchasing them. I like my KG4's also, and doubt I will ever part with either. You can't lose with either one. Tom
  23. Hopefully the story won't be titled, "How my Klipschorns cost me a little more than expected because of no plates on the rig." Be careful and I hope you have a safe and trouble free journey. Tom
  24. Don't buy anymore Fraziers. You will be doomed if you do. I heard that somewhere and thought I should pass that on to you. LOL Tom
  25. I have a pair of Fortes and my buddy has a pair of Forte II's that I sold him and with my experience, the bass should rattle your windows. I think you need to check if there is not a loose wire or something. It is hard for me to believe the bass isn't impressing you. Voice coil damage? Xover? I'm curious what the issue may be. If they were working properly you would be so impressed. Tom
