  1. Been saying that for awhile now … the guy can throw heat; but, most can hit heat. What’s this the fourth HR he’s given up this post season? While I’m on the soapbox … i yell at the television every game i watch, Giants hitters need to get the bats off their shoulders. Maybe they’re not doing their homework; but, having an educated guess as to what the pitcher is going to throw is a huge part of the game. I remember a coach that i had during my teens; he said something that has stuck with me, “if it was close enough to call, it was close enough to swing at.” Getting caught looking should be $10K fine. Oh well, like Kobe Bryant says, “the playoffs don’t start until you lose a game."
  2. OK. None, they'd rather sit in the dark and argue about cables. come on carl…you know if you’d just join the monster crowd we could all get back to listening properly.
  3. we’ll i for one have no problem with snakiness and am a huge fan of sarcasm (especially when it’s directed at others).
  4. the dumber the better usually. Hope things in Texas are treating you well.
  5. Fair enough. I won’t add to your frustration by participating in any more of your posts. This is a community and not strictly a technical forum. Many of us are friends and joke around as friends do. Sorry you don’t feel the same way … or at least about me. Regards.
  6. Fee Waybill is quite entertaining, and Roger Steen is a highly underrated guitarist. Quay Lewd! sorry, but I don't get it, and honestly don't appreciate the BS.... yeah, i gathered that from your first post which is why i didn’t respond any further as i meant no offense. Fee Waybill and Roger Steen are members of the band The Tubes. I don’t know if your BS comment is directed at me or Mike Stehr; so i’ll leave it at that. So, if it’s me that you’re pissed off at--i apologize.
  7. i dream of 1962--at least they won a game.
  8. Ah come on guys … Twix has been around for years--didn’t you ever eat candy?
  9. Not the burning bush from the Bible i presume.
  10. I feel for you Brother … When i was growing up and still at the orphanage, whenever i’d get in trouble, they’d make me sit in a corner and make cables.
  11. Fee Waybill is quite entertaining, and Roger Steen is a highly underrated guitarist.
  12. decade of the revolution … not so sure about the 70s, don’t remember a whole lot.
  13. i’d like to comment; but, i don’t know what you’re talking about. I guess i’m not up on my Klipsch trivia. As far as the HOF goes … until YES is in it, it won’t be legitimate.
  14. We already have. The super volcano eruption coincides with a bottleneck in our genetic history. not my quote; but, thanks for the publicity. Go Raiders.
  15. The dinosaurs appear to have been much better equipped than we are. I am reading a book by Carl Sagan right now that happens to have the info. The dinosaurs made it 180 million years and an asteroid took them out. We are at about 1 million years. Our chances are slim in surpassing them, but we might be reduced to a fraction of our population (for a good amount of time there were about 20,000 humans on the earth), the earth heal, repopulate, and go through the cycle many times. I am very skeptical and cynical and still do not believe that this outbreak is intentional. The government promotes business and the interest of the powerful in making more money and getting more power (and does not care who gets hurt in the process). A pandemic will kill consumers and taxpayers. No real money in it, and, although it wil be the least of our worries, our economy will be destroyed in the process. Now there’s a voice of reason … you sure you’re a lawyer?
  16. Totally agree. As we know it, this wouldn’t be a good weapon..like Oscar said, it would have to be easily contained or it’s just a doomsday weapon. Now, i’m not saying that many of the things written in those articles that Bruce posted are false either--i merely think the author jumped to some conclusions that I’m not ready to make. I’ve no doubt that the virus has been studied at length, and it may very well have “escaped” from a lab. It doesn’t surprise me that the labs aren’t in metropolitan areas either--much like an aircraft dumping fuel before an emergency landing--minimize collateral damage in the event of a disaster. While our nation’s history surely has some dark instances … i’m still hoping that those days are just that … in our history. Although, i long ago lost faith in my fellow man and believe that mankind is naturally evil and selfish … so while something nefarious would be disappointing, it wouldn’t be completely surprising.
  17. chuck you sure you aren’t a west coast guy? I think you’d fit in.
  18. You beat me to it Jerol … Go Giants! This was a good opportunity to let The Freak come out of the bullpen to get his confidence back. I was a big Scutaro fan; but, Panik is pretty good too; and Pence owns The City now. The way Bumgarner is pitching, man if Matt Cain was healthy and in the rotation -- wow! Go Giants.
  19. Same here in SoCal -- no trip to the beach today…took the day off … developed a case of Vertigo this past Saturday and still trying to ride it out. Such violent spinning can be a bit freaky.
  20. Glen was a member of the famed Wrecking Crew … the best studio musicians in the business.
  21. i can’t access page 702. was that way all last evening for me. i can now access page 703.
  22. this one time, a lightbulb burnt out … it was real dark. Some people got scared; but, not me. I changed it … alone. You know, when you stare death in the face and walk out alive … it changes you. Great job on the swing … those are lifesavers for parents. I left my kids in the swing until they were 18.
