  1. maybe they think they’re the straw that stirs the drink.
  2. Apparently you didn’t know that your boss is a member of this forum! See you in the morning … in my office! What a crappy sense of humor i have. Hope your toe heals quickly. Loud music might help the pain.
  3. Nice to see you in a different area of the forum Gary. I don’t think people here liked my MD 20/20 recommendation. Tough crowd--although i do confess that when i consumed the Mad Dog was back in my days of being a sailor, pulling into port and grabbing bottles of different stuff. The goal was to get drunk fast, often it was a pint of some sort of whiskey and occasionally a motel room and a pony keg of beer.
  4. I think BMW must be monitoring this forum ... the dealer just called and asked what my intentions are with my car. They say they want it for their pre-owned vehicle lot (code for we want you to buy a new one). They'll have to make me a fantastic deal ... probably too fantastic for them to even think of offering.
  5. The Voice Forever Autumn (although technically a Justin Hayward song) The Story in Your Eyes Isn't Life Strange
  6. Any idea what they're being replaced with? I was never partial to the Sequias or Forerunners or Expeditions or Excursions (which i detest since that is our work vehicle). FJs were a bit different than the run of the mill SUV. Thanks for that info.
  7. smart move. I've got a 528 and while i like it just fine, i'm not committed to another BMW either. Have always liked the looks of those Toyota FJ Cruisers; but, don't know much about them. My problem is that I'm a chameleon -- i love the city and could live in the bowels of Los Angeles; however, lately have been considering something out of the city (not too far) mountains maybe...i can be happy anywhere, so that Toyota looks like it could suit both locales (i already ruled out Range Rover). I just don't know...yet.
  8. Had the same thing happen last week, battery in the jeep Cherokee was turning over the engine slower than normal. After a few days and cleaning the connections no change. While this was going on when you would start it, it would not idle cold, it would kill, you would have to give it a little gas to keep it going. New battery and it starts fine and idles perfect when cold. Probably an older model then yours but sounds similar, it's a 01 model. Dropped my BMW off at the dealer yesterday and picked up a loaner. Check engine light came on. They know me very well by now as I've told them as long as the warranty is in effect--i'm bringing it in for EVERYTHING. They've already put a new transmission in and a new computer (that displays everything about the car). Warranty expires next July and that makes me uncomfortable since repairs are ridiculous (for example, that Transmission would have been over $7,000). Guess i'll have to get a new one next summer just to have to security of being covered under a warranty.
  9. saw the moody blues last year … still a great show.
  10. except when the music is on because then that would be rude.
  11. You gave me my 500th like. That’s huge for a guy like me that has to find new friends every couple of years.
  12. Okay … thanks to our good friend Elden, I’m now of revered status. I suppose I’ll get keys to the executive washroom and drinks are now free? I’m the same guy that i was at 499 … i won’t change … that’s my pledge to you. So thank you everyone, good evening, and may God bless America (and England … I like the Brits). Steve
  13. i say that every time i look at this forum.
  14. Once upon a time, the grandparents were visiting for Christmas. They’re playing cards and drinking wine. They run out and my mom asked me to go the store and get them another bottle. I buy what they were drinking; but, i also bought a bottle of MD 20/20. I give that to them, telling her that they were out of what she sent me to buy; but, the clerk recommended this one. She took one drink, claimed it was whiskey, and told me to go get something else.
  15. If you haven’t drank some Mad Dog at some point in your past--you’ve never partied.
