  1. are you a time traveller? any chance you could have crossed the einstein/rosen/podolsky bridge into an alternate dimension? look around and see if your doppleganger is in the area--he’ll get you banned from this site.
  2. Watched a documentary called "Making the Monkees, "Sugar Sugar was the song that ended them. Heard Mike Nesmith drew the line with Don Kirshner and wouldn't do that song. Kirshner then formed The Archies. I think Mike Nesmith's was right, actually he wrote his best song while doing The Monkees tv show ... Different Drum, which he later let Linda Rondstat record with the Stone Poneys.
  3. i can sell you a pair if that will help.
  4. i guess you have to cut the number if half if you’re traveling more than a mile a minute…that’s why i flunked math --now it makes sense.
  5. this one's clever .. and Roger Taylor is an excellent drummer.
  6. me and mr. moderation never got along.
  7. I like a Britney Spears song … wait, let me explain. Several years ago there was a television show where the band INXS was looking for a new singer. During one week of the competition, the contestants were assigned songs to perform--they were free to do a new arrangement. They were given songs totally unlike what they would normally do. One contestant, Marty Casey was given a Britney Spears song. I was watching the show in a room full of people and thinking to myself, “I like this.” The host of the show, Dave Navarro, said after Marty’s performance, “…i kinda dug it.” Now, I admit, I will not listen to, nor do i think I would like Ms. Spears version of this song.
  8. and Britney speaks so highly of all of you. I’m sure Khornukopia was there for the sound system.
  9. too much of it will ruin your credit.
  10. same thing happened to me when i bought my BMW last year. Credit Union called and said that i hadn’t used a credit card in seven years. I said yes, i don’t need one, i pay cash for everything. She told me to get some credit cards because it was hurting my credit not having any credit. They approved my car loan and now i have three credit cards (i needed a couple of guitars and a VOX amplifier and a laptop and a trip to Tahoe, etc…)
  11. that’s me … always a ray of sunshine.
  12. yeah; but, it ain’t gonna happen. it’s been proposed something like 220 times and has never grown any legs.
  13. Oh what a surprise, smells like Del-Taco, with ketchup I presume. Congratulations on making it there and back safely, you know your getting to old for all that other silliness, once is more than enough. Too Old? I have that Benjamin Buttons disease; but, i've never seen the movie so i don't know what's going to happen to me.
  14. I had a burrito for lunch ... hope you all are proud of me.
  15. Who's joking? This is the most serious conversation that i've had since i tried to figure out why banks charge you money when you bounce a check--pay more of what they know you don't have any of.
  16. Since you mentioned astronauts ... if you're driving at the speed of light and turn your headlights on, does it help?
  17. I've actually met some really cool actors--behind the scenes when the cameras are off and ... still cool. I'm sure that there are jerks among them just like any other profession; but, that hasn't been my experience. But if you want to talk about awards ... seems like every time i turn on the tv there is a commercial for a country music award show.
  18. i wish you could teach that to some of the distinguished members of this forum -- they spew forth crap daily and for all of us to read. you know, everybody has something to deal with -- mine is anxiety. Sounds like you're happy, so that's a very good thing.
  19. i agree that the Rickenbacker is the best looking guitar ever ... i play most everyday--although with arthritis in both hands now--barre chords are murder and short-lived.
  20. they're not all bad (the actors, not the show)
  21. Just curious, what kind of guitars? Pics? Hopefully, i remember when i get home tonight to post pictures. But, 60th Anniversary Stratocaster (desert sand with gold hardware), Brian May Rhapsody Acoustic (Red Cherry...absolutely beautiful), Gretsch Double Jet (Gold), Epiphone's version of the Gibson ES-175 (sunburst), two Portuguese Violas (Unfinished. Hand made by my Grandpa and his brother, both 12 strings), then several others lying around waiting for the arrival of the Rickenbacker 366.
  22. First time, the original Mackinaw homeported in Cheboygan (spent the winter in Sault Ste Marie; second time Grand Haven. When i reported to the Mackinaw out of bootcamp, last days of October, i didn’t even own a coat … bought one the very first day after work. that place gets cold! Did you experience Fricano's in Grand Haven? My nephew is in the Coast Guard, recently stationed in Ludington, but now in New York or New Jersey. USCG is a great branch of the service. My brother (USNA '75) says everyone in the Coast Guard must be at least 6' tall. well i am at least 6’ tall (that’s an old navy joke) … yes, i’ve been to fricano’s -- pizza culture shock experience. it was a very thin pie … first time i’d ever seen that. grand haven was a cool place--not what i’d ever experienced before, that small town life. met some good friends at this church i was going to and it was harder to leave them and return to california than it was to leave my blood relatives to go to grand haven. it wasn’t a bad life. I used to live in Grand Haven. Sadly, I returned this summer for the memorial service for my ex-brother-in-law (my Coast Guard nephew's father). Dave was a former Marine and former star athlete at GH high. The service was at the American Legion Post across from the CG station. A CG helicopter did a flyover at the end of the service. During the outside service, several teenage boys riding bikes stopped and put their hands over their hearts out of respect. That would happen in Grand Haven, but not in Detroit. Dave was a fantastic person. We all knew he was a great dad and that he had played football at Northern Arizona University and Central Michigan University before and after two tours in Vietnam. We didn't know the extent of his heroism until we saw the medals and heard the tales from his Marine Corps buddies at the service. Dave never bragged about his athletic success or his service in the Marines. The photo taken in approximately 1986, and passed out by my brother's wife at the memorial service, shows, left to right: Nick (USAF), Dave's youngest; Dave (Marine Corps); Scott (Army), my older son, now a cop in DC; Sam (Coast Guard) Dave's second oldest; Matt, my brother's youngest was a walk-on tight end at University of Arizona; Ryan, my brother's middle son, an MSU grad is in a grad program at Northwestern; and Ben, my brother's oldest, an MSU grad now works in Chicago. Unfortunately, Dave's lovely daughter Meredith, his oldest, now a Spanish teacher, apparently, was reluctant to drown in a sea of testosterone and missed the photo op. sorry about the loss of Dave. Grand Haven was a nice place--very different than what i was accustomed to; but, it grew on me. I worked right next to that American Legion, Yeah we were doing a service one warm day and it was LONG. Guy next to me, says "i'm going to pass out." I told him to hang on it was almost over; but, he couldn't. So he broke rank and goes and sits down. This old man comes out of the crowd, grabs the rifle, and takes my friend's place in the color guard. It was cool to be there and see that.
  23. that's why they pay me so much to be on this forum. enjoy your day.
  24. Sadly, the emblem and the foot pegs are where the value is; but, good luck with the sale. If they don’t sell quickly, come up with a hard luck story. People are suckers for a good story. Cherry is beautiful … I have a red cherry guitar that’s looks incredible. Seriously, good luck with the sale. Not sure what you mean by the value in the emblem and pegs? The circular pegs are in the bottom of them. What I was trying to say is the flat pieces that go under them. it was a joke.
