  1. Just kidding! Going to the IMA was an unexpected wonderful experience. Very nice selection of ART. This fresco was painted in the early 12th century.
  2. Picky, Thanks for posting your pictures! Here is one I took that turned out OK. Klipsch View.

  4. cyclonecj, Thanks for letting me share your thread:-) I didn't have enough pics for my own
  5. Good Job! Thanks for posting the pics. Here is one of my geese pictures.

We just flat ran out of time. ---------------- That was one of my first thoughts after contemplating my decision to choose A and learning what they were (sensitivity rating being an issue)! My later thoughts are posted above. I was too much of a novice for my first visit to such an event. Thanks for the experience Trey and co. I hope to be invited again.
  7. I chose "A" and was somewhat disappointed because I own B. It wasn't until I got home and played "Building a Mystery," from the 'Afterglow Live" Dvd in 5.1 I realized 2 things: 1) I prefer multichannel over 2 channel and 2) Speaker B {major edit: I mistakenly wrote "A" in original post}was designed mainly to be played with a subwoofer and 3 other channels. All I can say is that listening to Sarah Mclachlan belting out "Building a mystery" in multi-channel, in my HT was more impressive than her singing (another song) in that testing room in 2 channel. That being said, I wonder how 5 speaker "A"s in a multi channel configuration would sound.

  11. I also have a small room but a high A-Frame ceiling--Acoustically it really helps. I run a "9.2" setup with a Denon 4802R...Incredible!
  12. Hmmmm. I would stick with a good 5.1 system or possibly consider a rear center channel for a 6.1 set up. Not knowing your much about your situation--that's my 2 cents.
  13. Denon 4802-R. I use both A & B surround during movies and it sounds excellent! I know slightly off topic...
  14. I guess I thought the Indy crew would have the entertainment lined out. I can volunteer to bring some 5.1 media (DVD DVD-A, SACD's) as well. There are several things I would like to hear and compare to what I have at home. I look forward to meeting everyone.

I would give the friendly people that make the unit a dingle, they can help you set it up, an Spl meter and a test disc would be invaluable. ---------------- I stand corrected I have never had a popping sound come out of my Klipsch, RSW's
  16. Welcome to the forum rockos. 2 years ago I had pretty much the same decision you have. I was deciding between the Denon 5803 and the B&K 507--Then the 4802R came along. It was between $1200 and $2200 cheaper than the other 2 and had all of the power I needed. I am still considering using it as a preamp, but haven't felt the need to upgrade, and it's been 2 years. If you are not on a budget then I would take the advice of going separates. You couldn't go wrong. Another idea would be buy the 4806 when it comes out. Use the money you save (assuming it's cheaper) to buy a set RF-5's to use as side surrounds along with your RS-7's(The Denon allows 2 sets of side surrounds;-).Then buy a pair of RB-75's to use as rear speakers in a "9.1 configuration". I have something similar and it sounds Awesome! Good Luck.
  17. Welcome to the forum whathesae. I have heard nothing but good things about the SVS-PC+20-39 , but a popping sound with the gain up only 1/3? I wonder if something was damaged in shipping (i.e., loose wire, etc.). I was considering an SVS sub but got a good price on my RSW 12 & 15 and decided to go with that. No regrets and in fact I am ecstatic. If you have kids you may want to check and see if there may have been some "minor adjustments" (Pun intended;-) Good luck and keep us posted.
  18. I am flying in on Thursday and will be there Friday for the mixer. Tell me how much and when to pitch in? I am looking forward to it:-)
  19. Thanks for posting the picture. I stopped by there late last year. Klipsch has been such a big name in my mind for many years, that I found it humorous that I had to go to the Hope city office to get the key to get into the Klipsch museum. I walked around looking at things for about 25 minutes--turned off the lights and returned the key.
  20. ---------------- On 5/7/2005 5:04:33 PM ] I've read recently on the AVS forums (apparently some in the know) that speaker break-in beyond the first hour is a myth. I'm not sure who to believe on it anymore. Did you hear appreciable differences beyond that point? And how would a speaker be damaged from being played too loud too soon? ---------------- [/blockquote> I am in the "myth" camp. If there were a break in time it would be in the instructions IMO.
  21. Martin Logans are nice speakers and at one time I considered "upgrading" to them but couldn't do it because I was so impressed by the Klipsch upper end reference sound. I went into our local Tweeter and listened to their ML setup countless times and kept thinking that it didn't sound any better than my setup at home--In fact with my subs, didn't compare even if they would have been the same cost (and not 4 times higher;-) Tweeter also set up a room with all ML towers which sounded nice and looked extremely cool, but not an upgrade in my book. It appears you are going to have a nice Home Theater Enjoy!
