  1. nice room. any reason everything is off set? is it because of the rear speakers? did you make the center stand or buy it? if you bought it, where did you buy it from?
  2. sorry, i assumed you would wait for the bank to clear it. i wouldn't think he would want to send cash in the mail. what ever you do, don't go outside ebay if you already posted it. you can do a money order too, it depends on what you feel comfortable with. just wait for it to clear and then send the stuff.
  3. ah....how cute! i have to say though....good thing this is a chicks car. i work with a guy who had a vw bug, not even turbo, and he had a dead flower in his holder. i understand about the jonny depp thing, my wife loves him too. i think it's the long hair! i still keep my short from the military days.
  4. go to options and then browse. insert the pic and it shows up.
  5. when you hit "reply" NOT "quick reply"
  6. i agree with the last two posts. theres a lot you can upgrade and you would need more money. if you really want new speakers go after your two front mains. you will have to look for deals and shop around.
  7. sorry, i was rude..... WELCOM TO THE FORUMS! congrats on the purchase! great speakers at that price!
  8. it most likely sounds different because they are not set up right. positing the speakers takes lots of time and patience. you also need a spl meter to balance them. there are several things that go into putting a ht room together. with that receiver i wouldn't turn it up too loud, you may have a problem with clipping. (sending dc to the speakers, this kills them, a big don't do). you get clipping from not having enough amps. don't freak, just don't crank it up too much. these speakers are really efficient and don't need many amps. the acoustics in the room play a huge role too.
  9. always buy the most speaker you can. look around at audiogon, ebay, craigs list, places like that. the rf-82's are not that far out of budget. if you save for a few more months you can get them. the warrenty is a good selling point but if you ask around people here have speakers from the 70's and they still work great. i bought mine around 10years ago and they all work great. these speakers are not cheaply made, they will last a lifetime. both speakers are good, maybe someone one will chime in that has owned both of them and let you know how they compare.
  10. i agree. wait for the winning bidder. tell him to bid on the item, if he doesn't have a pay pal account then if he wins tell him to mail a cashers check (he can buy it with the cash).
  11. all the vw needs is a smile and a flower in its holder!
  12. i use to remodel houses with my dad and he would have me sand the joints. i outsmarted him. i got a 24" 2x4 and put sand paper on that. just a few passes with that, and it was good. it also helps if you don't put that much mud on in the first place.
  13. yeah, terry is a cool dude, very nice.
  14. you could always invite them over. maybe you could convince them to be klipsch lovers and instead of "Turn it down!" you get "Turn it up!"
  15. if you have a 7.1 i would say the 7700. it's the most expencive but it has balanced connections if that is important to you. i have read some posts here and the people that have the balanced inputs like them. i also think (may be wrong) when they used the balanced connections they don't get hums. also by getting the 7700, if you upgrade speakers the amp will be able to push them and you won't have a problem with clipping.
  16. it's only a crime in california, if the bill passes!
  17. i am curious how many people here prefer their klipsch speaker's grill on or off and why? me first.... all my grills are off. the reason, i like the look better. thats it, simple and to the point.
  18. if you feel like talking on the phone and doing this, you can call sony and someone will help you. i did, and the guy was real nice. just remember, when dealing with the video portion of the hooks ups, if you want to run all the video cables to the processor and then 1 cable to the tv, all the video connections have to be the same. either all yellow analog, all component...etc. good luck!
  19. hey my car was paid off, then i sold it for a chrysler 300m (i had a baby and the car seat didn't fit in the TA and i also had a neon....do i need to explain why i bought a bigger car? my wife was shocked when i told her we need to sell the TA. she was like "but you love that car!" to this day i don't regret it, it was the smart thing to do, also it was better for the family.
  20. i am with tommy, if i get a chance to go i would and i wouldn't care about the cost. i know i would be surrounded by fellow audio and klipsch lovers! i would also leave the wife and kid at home and let it be daddy's treat!
  21. this is an oldy but goody.... batman 2....when the bat plane is flying out of the cave and is doing 360's. i first heard that in CC, don't know the set up but it was 5.1 and it almost made me dizzy! anacondo alos had a good scene, when the snake wrapped about the people, you could hear it slither all the way around. pretty cool effect.
  22. wouldn't we all! well except i would only have about 5 chairs! lol i'd be right in the middle!
  23. alright, i have the de-895 so we should have a very similar set up. this is complicated and may be hard to understand. i have: Sony ps2, dvd, 7.1 speakers, vcr, and cable box. my set up is, 7.1 for the dvd player and Sony ps2, everything else is run off the tv. every connection is using the yellow analog video. the cable box hooks up to the tv directly (yellow, red, white). the ps2 yellow and optical hook up to the processor. the dvd yellow and optical hook up to processor. you have to reassign the inputs to the tuner which could give you a headache. follow the manual because it explains it. i don't know if this helps because it's very confusing, the bottom line read the manual, if you don't have it go to Sony.com and download it. i use the remote from the processor to run everything (it's a learning remote, it just takes time to program all of it).
  24. nice clean look. is that the 70" sony?
