  1. Watch out when you go in to the link. Norton picked up an invasion attempt. Funny pic.
  2. Hi srivibhu, Just go to Media Markt, they can order all Klipsch systems including Heritage, at least here in Hannover they can. Grüß
  3. A good coffie also depends on the blend and roasting. If it was "bitter" it was probably 100% Arabica beans. There are worlds of differences between coffie in the states,Germany, Denmark, Italy etc. The American coffie (Folgers and co.) tend to be on the watery side void of body. The Italians that I know drink one or 2 cups of Espresso but ask me to send German coffie to drink through the day. Normally here the Germans drink a lot of coffie, 8 to 10 cups a day. Espresso is actually "healthier" than normal coffie due to roasting methods and the higher temp. during brewing. These machines are very easy to use and don't cost a fortune "just to try out" http://www.espressozone.com/espresso-makers.html Have fun whatever you choose.
  4. I just saw a show that they are building condos in the UK out of old Containers (the ones that go on a ship). They are normed They stack perfect They can be built into just about any community. They actually look very interesting and are supposed to be cheap. Will have to see if I find a pic.
  5. I remember tht "Niagara Falls" routine from the Stooges but alas that does not mean that they invented it. Now back to my Bony-M marathon. Daddy, Daddy Cooooool
  6. I believe in the movie Be Cool with John Travolta I saw a Home Theater setup in the house where "Edie" was living. When they are sitting and listening to the demo music I think I saw a RC-64 hanging under the TV behind them. Could be wrong though..
  7. Well its 20:49 here and I am getting ready to hit the sack, have to be up at 04:00 tomorrow to catch the plane. It was a nice visit and I would like to come again when I have more time the people are great and country breathtaking. I am looking forward to coming back here. This supprised us this morning hope I get out tomorrow.
  8. Cool pics !!!! Thanks A couple of points of interest. The heating in Iceland is 100% Geo-Thermal, including hot water (thought it was only 85 but was wrong). That is why the water smells a little like sulfur. It is direct out of the ground 90 deg Celcius and cooled down to 60 to pipe directly into the house. All elt. is made from steam so heating and elt are very cheap here. There are also no hot water heaters!!! They are Iclandic Horses, just a little smaller. [] My host set me straight on this one. Last night it snowed 25 to 30 cm. I woke up and like wow. I will trey to post a pic this evening. This is my last day and I will be flying tomorrow morning at 8:00, this means wake up at 3:00 and hope busses are running. A guy that came with me left today and had to wait 4 hours in the plane until it was safe enough to fly. He was a little agravated. More tidbits later!!! Ran
  9. Around 1520 or so Hannover started brewing (Gilde Brauerei) an "obergäriges helles Bier" top fermented light beer, but this is actually translated wrong. A helles Bier is simply filtered after fermentation to get a clear beer. When it is not filtered it is Natur Trub (Natrualy cloudy), like the bier in my avatar. Then ther are still yeast particals. In Germany at that time the Deutsche reinheits gebot for Bier (Purity promise for brewing beer) was in effect, and anyone who knows the Germans know how anal they can be with their bier. The Gilde Brauerei is still going strong but not the best bier I must say. The bier in my Avatar is very tasty though, small private bier that you can only buy in Hannover either in these 5 liter bottles or kegs directly from the brewer. www.brauhaus.net We Americans "invented" the light beer wich is actually a Malt liquor (sp?) in the 70´s, nothing to do with "real beer". Iceland would be a wonderful layover if you had the time to see everything, so much to see!! Ran
  10. I think they said that about 85% is Geo-thermal heating. A booming business here (about 30%) is aluminimum, they use 0 fosil fuels only geo-thermal or water power. Mucho cool Ran
  11. OOPS sorry I forgot to say hi. Jagerschnitzel and Autobahn I agree but Warsteiner is the PBR of Germany[:|][] I remember visiting my mother about 5 years ago and my brother wanted to "try to out drink" the big brother, unfortunately his poison of choice was beer. If you do not get a nice private beer and get off the rack Budwiser (Over here it is just called Bud because of Budwar) you could just as well drink icetee. After a case my wife asked me if we could change to something stronger, this beer was just making her pee alot. Ran
  12. Hi to all and thanks for the replys. I just went to dinner with the coustomer and believe it or not had one of the best steaks since I left the good old US of A. They were home grown, beef and lamb are big here. Iceland is a very interesting country, 1% unemployment and very very nice people. They say the weather is somewhat crazy this winter, while we were at dinner it started snowing and within 2 hours we got about 3 inches, nice and fluffy snow. Not at all that cold at the moment about 2 deg. I do wish I could have seen the gysirs and lagoons. Just about all of the water here has a sulfery (if that is a word) smell to it. The coustomer said next visit they will organize a day trip. My hotel is in Reykjavik one of the larger citys and about an hour away from the lagoons. I asked a coustomer what one could do evenings and he said "Stay until friday evening and you can join about 25000 people getting drunk."[] dkp = I live in Hannover, that is about 2 to 3 hours away from Eisleben, A2 east to A14 south, we are north west from them. D Dee = yep unfortunately I just about always have to much to do, 10 to 12 hours a day is normal. After that the hotel is looking good!! OB = I do get around a lot, my area of operation is Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and now Iceland. I have also been to Spain, Italy, France, Belgien Netherlands and Austria on business trips. All 2 to 5 days but have not seen much of the countrys only rooms and equipment!! Islander = Sigur Ros is a cool group and of course the Islanders are proud of them. It is a beautiful place the contrasts are breathtaking. I talked to Joi (the coustomer) and said I gave a shout out to the forum I am on and asked "Do you know Klipsch?" His answer " Oh the Klipschhorn great speaker." go figure. It was cool to know that even in Iceland they know them. Nothing of the modern ones though. Ran
  13. Yellow - Essential Yellow (Sept. 1992) Mercury (Universal) Song 16 : The Rhythm Devine ASIN by amazon B00002568G This is a song with just about everything in it that one needs IMHO, jazzy woman singer with a voice that goes under your skin, deep bass with good combination of elt. and manual insturments. One of my favorites. The rest of the tracks on this album are also good if you like a combination of elt and traditonal music. Kitaro - Kojiki 20 bit Digital Remastered (Nov. 2007) Megaphone import ASIN by amazon B00009WVT5 One of my favorite relax albums, remixed by the master. Wonderful mix of traditonal Japanise instruments with moder day. A lot of dynamics throughout the entire albums from gongs to clicks to rock gutuar. I once read that it was really hard to go on tour with him because you had to reproduce absolutely 100% as it was done in the studio. 0 improvisation Ran
  14. Hello everybody, I´m on a business trip to Iceland and I thought I would drop a line and shout out a hello. I looked in the dealer locator but unfortunatly no dealer here.[] The weather is about -3 with snow. Nice people with interesting traditions. Today a lot of people came into the office dressed up in costumes, kind of like our halloween. The kids even got a day off and went around to sing for sweets. Unfortunately I won´t have the time to see the horses or go to the blue lagoons, mabie next time!!! Ran
  15. This is a sound piece of advice, I once turned on my amp and found out that my wife was listening to Shakira and ear bleeding levels when I was not there, scared the bejesus out of me. I then set my amp to power up at -55 volume so I don´t fry the speakers when I turn it on. Ran
  16. Ach yes those old casettes, I think I still have about 300 of them. Lets see...................The 80´s Fort Hood Texas, Road trips to Austin (Sure can´t miss the Yellow Rose of Texas), Belton Lake and Skating with the boys (I s#c#ed big time). First random grab. 21. The company Klangfilm (sound film) made systems(pre- poweramps and speakers) for movie theaters. It was started in 1928 and was then taken over in 1941 by Siemens. There office was in Emmendingen/Baden, under Stutgart near the boarder to Switzerland. Thats probably where they got their horn form idea. [] Ran The site was in Danish though strange.
