  1. Well. I'd give Michael a like but I've exceeded my quota of positive votes for the day. You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day
  2. We are going to launch a Kickstarter page to raise some funds for development next month. I can post that info here when the time comes. If you're interested in something beyond that, drop me a PM! Thanks! Cool. Should get some support from your loyal subjects.
  3. Haha It's a modern twist on a classic toy, so both Does it include GPS locator services so it can be located if duck napped?

    Moving on

Don't make assumptions... Not that I was trying or wanted to look, but when Alex was bending over at the Klipsch event after work a few days ago, I think I saw what looked like frilly lacy panty tops poking out.... Reminds me of Dr Demento was it, had a song, "... walking around in women's underwear ..." Nobody will replace Amy. Huge (tiny spiked heeled) shoes to fill. I'm sure Alex and Chad will do fine. Reviewing Amy's What I'm up to. And the irony.... post, it appears she's moving on to new and better challenges and like everybody else I will miss her around these parts and wish her the absolute best in her pi lab endeavors. A new start up with a couple of other former Klipsch employees... And our queen looks quite happy. p.s. Amy. Stay in touch and BEST of LUCK with Edwin. You and your cohorts in your new adventure should do quite well. Amy's co-conspirators look kind of familiar. Especially that guy in the middle.
  5. I will let the secret out, Thebes is driving all the way to Indy and is going to do a special strippergram just for Amy ! Sorry Amy No pic's please. My sources say it's a double... Coytee will be joining in the strippergram doing his best Marie Osmond impersonation. Unbeknownst to Thebes, I've been working with the Twins to stop the strippergram nonsense but you know Marty, and well, anytime Coytee gets a chance to impersonate Marie ... and he never misses an opportunity to get a peek at Amy's earlobes. Just call her HotLobes.I work in the same building as the Indiana State Police headquarters. They have formed a special task force and are on the lookout to prevent this travesty before it becomes a case of the most heinous indecent exposure and affront to good musical taste. The Twins will probably bring Marty to his senses, or at least distract him enough, that he'll forget the purpose of this trip and he'll probably just take Amy to St Elmo's for lunch. Maybe the Twins as well but they may have to leave town early for reasons that can't be divulged here. Only cost me a few dozen donuts and donut gift cards.... .remind me nex ttime not to bribe, uh pay, the ISP in advance, they are spending way too much time at the donut shop. And definitely no film. The ISP undercover officers may take video to use as evidence, or to send in to the new cable video show, America's Worst Karaoke Videos coming soon on *TV. And just when we thought they couldn't lower their standards any lower. I say this post puts you in line to steal Thebes forum title for creativity.. That's not the ity most people will think of...

    Opus is the Man!

Opus? Isn't that the Penguin that's BIll The Cat's sidekick in the Bloom County and Outland comic strips?
  7. Amy. Is this really the first time we made you cry? No tears of disgust, laughter, the pain from pulling your hair out? Waking up in a cold sweat from nightmares of a certain Marie Osmond impersonator, or of what may have happened to Dwight and Dilbert?

  9. RIP J5. Johnny Winter recently joined heaven's band. RIP and thoughts and prayers to his family and friends to get through this most difficult time.
  10. Ah Dwight and his sidekick Dilbert... Were they lost by the USPS, UPS, or FEDEX? Or hijacked by the court jester? I've not bee non the Forum much lately so am the last to know or your departure. Edwin sounds very interesting. Especially to "grow" with your child. I think there's really strong potential as "just" a bath toy that checks the temperature of the bath water and helps entertain the kiddos. But is and/or will be so much more. Best of luck in your new endevor and may y'all knock it out of the park. Sounds exciting to be in on the ground floor. Is that Steven in the pic? I first figured out something was up when your new avatar's we showing a hint of earlobes.
  11. Red Monitor. From my bit of research a few years back when I scored a pair of SRM12B studio monitors (similar or at one time called little red?) the 1960's vintage dual concentric drivers are the most desired. Mine are c1982 as best I can tell. Tannoy doesn't have complete records. $9K seems crazy to me too. $900 I think you might be able to get your money back and maybe more? No idea really. The drivers might be worth close to $900 each? But this was a few years back. It would be worth it to give them a listen. Cool drivers if the grills are removable. And if Red Monitor, very pretty for studio monitors. My SRM12Bs have treble and some other control on the front and there's a good chance they came out of Michael Kelsey's studio in Lafayette Indiana. They do have very nice veneer. Check the prices of the 15" dual concentric drivers on eBay. Very similar if not the same driver used in larger home speakers such as the Westminster. I think the 12" in the SRM12B also used in home Edinburgh.
  12. It happens to me more than you know. And well am I even on topic when I think I am? ... Oh my. I think Amy may be showing a bit of her earlobes. Let's hope Coytee doesn't find out ...
  13. Or all 3 show up on the same day...
  14. I love kona. I have an uncle that lives in hawaii, so birthday and xmas gifts always consist of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and kona coffee. no complaints. +1 on the Kona Carl and Thad, the chocolate covered macadamia nuts and kona coffee sounds like a scrumptious pairing! Somebody wake up dtel.....want to hear more about those New Orleans coffees! Be careful about waking up dtel from his nap.... he might come up swinging. Or think your Christy....
  15. ... if it's a recording and artist you know well and you can't tell it's the artist, even the original recording. That's "Cats In The Cradle" by Harry Chapin, and it's Harry, but it just doesn't sound like Harry
  16. I got there a bit late (it's a long drive time wise from behind the state capitol where I toil away) but made it in time for tour group led by Alex so did got to meet him. Steve P was in group in his Klipsch Shirt. Missed MC. Missed the highlight of my tour group's sneaky before the tour stop, they got a KHorn demo. I started kind of wondering down that way after the pic of Alex's and another group.... MC and others may have been in the KHorn room. (sigh) p.s. While it was no Pilgrimage it was still pretty cool. Kudos to Alex for putting it together. And of course I forgot to try the 'phones I wanted to try. X4i and S3M. And I've still not heard The Console. Too bad it's not being built. I think wood veneers as wood would do better than the gloss black. Just my opinion. Make one heck of a center channel or the mama of a single box system. This is the console your grandpa could only dream of...
  17. Better Sales Through (Marketing) Research Dr (Rhymes With Hose) is brilliant in marketing and in how many different configurations he can sell the say maybe OK speaker. If you know the song and the singer well, and it doesn't sound at all like the singer, it must be (rhymes with hose)
  18. I kid you not, in these parts there's a youngun named Dumbass, dooooomahs and one named Shithead, Shtihayed. Our neighbor who had Shithead in class had a roommate in college named Stranger, StangJay. I mean what kind of dumbass names their child Shithead? Of course the ridnicks around here are afraid to say anything bad to a couple of the waiters in the local Mexian eating establishment. But Billybob, why'd you tell the watier your food was fine when you said it tasted like a tough roadkill squirrel? Jesus was my waiter. No way I gonna tick off the Lord.
  19. Not at the level of George Strait, but apparently, Dr Hook's aka Ray Sawyers last US concert was last night in Kokomo. Then on to Canada and on to retirement. I unfortunately didn't make it but they did have a large turnout. Image courtesy of local radio personality Jill Savage. Dr Hook - "Cover Of The Rolling Stone" How's the indoor / outdoor pool and tiki bar addition coming?
  20. Be patient. Alex and Amy and all are very busy lately but I'm sure they'll get it out soon. I recently won some Klipsch Status in the their Twitter #UnleashRoy contest and it did take a while to get them. Well worth the wait. Broke a cable the first day (#WhyICantHaveNiceThings) and it was replaced very quickly. They may be short on proper shipping containers and haven't had time to get them? Rolled in a tube I'd think would be the safest most cost effective way to ship. I'm sure I'm in the queue too late to win a poster but will complete my blog entry.... though it may take a while
  21. Picture(s) to come..... answers to questions to come.... too late to the party to snag a poster I'm sure so but sounds like fun..... WHEN/WHY YOU FIRST HEARD OF KLIPSCH: Way back in the last century c1978 when I was a sophomore in high school maybe a bit after buying my first stereo at Rat Shack, I really started poring through the school library's stash of STEREO REVIEW and HIGH FIDELITY and continued to do so before and after school until I graduated or got my own subscriptions. I think HIGH FIDELITY was absorbed inot STEREO REVIEW which has now been combined with a video mag to become SOUND & VISION. I also subscribed to AUDIO magazine. By 1979 if not before, my brother and/or myself subscribed to Rolling Stone and my brother subscribed to MUSICIAN and GUITAR PLAYER. Probably when I sold magazine subscriptions as a junior as that's how we raised funds for the high school prom. I believe it was my sophomore year in 1978 when I read a review of the Klipschorn in STEREO REVIEW. Yep. By Julian "All Amplifiers Sound The Same" Hirsch ... to be continued... WHERE & WHERE YOU MADE YOUR PURCHASE: THE SETUP: Discuss how you went about setting up your system and what you use it for. MAIN SPEAKERS: What model they are and why you selected them CENTER CHANNEL (If applicable): What model it is and why you selected it What's a center channel? (Just kidding). I don't have one. SURROUNDS/BOOKSHELVES (if applicable): What model they are and why you selected them SUBWOOFER (If applicable): What model it is and why you selected it RECEIVER: What model it is and why you selected it AMPLIFIER (if applicable): What model it is and why you selected it MEDIA CABINETS (if applicable): People sometimes like to know what media cabinets you're using. ANYTHING ELSE?: I obviously don't know everything that people would want to know about this kind of thing, so if you have suggestions that would make sense, lemme hear them!
  22. Thoughts and prayers for Cyndy and you. Thanks for the dog information. I don't speak dog very well. Maybe that's why our daughters' chihuahua pets, first Rico Suave, and now his son, Maverick Rico Suave, keep pooping in our office room. Rico even pooped behind my office chair a few times with me in it shortly after I took him out. And he peed on my Cambridge Soundworks Model 12.... but I think Chihuahuas are closer related to the fox than to dogs?
  23. Amazing how caring and what good friends we've made virtually and consider close friends. A few I've met in person at Klipsch Pilgrimages or as a carrier in the Klipsch Express. The "Wall of Voodoo" and "Wall of Boudoir" are well worth the trip to Okeechobee if you're in the vicinity and Marshall aka Groomlakarea51 fixes alligator that is actually fit to eat. Tastes a lot like chicken but marinated and sauteed it's not rubbery like in restaurants. One of my classmates had juvenile diabetes and it was very difficult for her physically with a lot of related and maybe other health issues. Soldiered on until 40 something and she never complained that I'm aware. I remember when she got her first car and was sooo excited as it had a good radio. A good AM radio> Is there still such a thing. Sound's like ya got a great dog.
  24. Alive and well, well has always been debatable....
  25. This is not a bad thing. Name recognition is half the battle. Now when they shop for home audio, they'll remember. It's a VERY GOOD thing. How many thousands of Klipsch customers over the last few years heard of Klipsch before the headphones and iPod and Bluetooth speakers? :emotion-29: :emotion-29:
