  1. This looks like a very nice Peach, price seem fair? If I was not so happy with my current Sonic Frontiers preamp, I would maybe jump on this guy... http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649404095-juicy-peach-tube-pre-amplifier/
  2. Thanks dtel, As you probably remember, I had a bit of a struggle deciding whether to build MWM or Jubs. I doubt that either would have been a bad choice, although the MWM would have been a tighter fit in my room. That reminds me of 10 years ago when Claude dropped off his KHorns that I bought from him. They originally went upstairs in the living room. The KHorns ... you could barely see them for the Christmas tree.
  3. For more pics, see link for the similar post I just made on Canuck Audio Mart. Scroll down to bottom of page for my post. CAM seems to allow more, and larger pics per post. Note, Click pic on CAM gives you full page view. Then a 2nd click will let you zoom into full detail view. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25383&start=1815
  4. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a nice Sansui TU-717 that has been modded up and aligned by Mike Williams. http://www.fmtunerinfo.com/DIY.html#TU-717 http://www.radioxtuners.com WOW, Radio2 and JazzFM 91.1 have not sounded this good in my house! Anyways, I "think" my main system is at it's final configuration... at least for now. As now pictured: Dedicated AC lines via Romex 10/2 Blue Circle, FX2 X0e, FX-2 Powerline Conditioners, 12X Filter. Assorted PCs... Grover Hoffman, Shunyata, WyWires. Assorted ICs: Grover Hoffman RCAs, XLO XLRs. Supra (hi end) and Morgami (low end) speaker wire. Sansui TU-717 tuner. Mac Mini server via Audirvana Plus. Musical Paridise, MP-D2 DAC. Sonic Frontiers, Line 1. Xilica, XP 4080... Active crossover. Classe, CA-150... Bass amp. Triode Labs, 2A3 SET... Hi frequency amp. Crown, XLS 1500... bridged to mono for Subwoofer. Klipsch "Like", DIY Jubilees... 2way. Lilmike's, Cinema F-20... horn loaded sub. 10: DIY Acoustic panels... Corning 703.
  5. Ya that is the order for configuration. I have my sources into my Sonic Frontiers Line1 preamp... into Xilica XP4080... into Classe CA-150 (bass bins) ... into Triode Labs 2A3 amp (402) With an active system, that is one of the advantages vs passive, your amplifiers only are needing to deal with the specific frequency that the active Xover is feeding each amplifier. For my 3-4 wpc 2A3 amp, it is only being asked to produce the midrange and up... more than enough power for the 402s! I am guessing your Ref500 on the bass cabinets and then your VRDs on the 402s would be a nice set up.
  6. Schu, I started my Klipsch journey with a pair of Corwalls that sounded and looked fantastic. Sold those and purchased Claude's KHorns which were a very nice upgrade. During, "A Momentary Lapse of Reason", I sold the Khorns for a switch to a pair of Maggie, 1.7s. When I decided to get back into horns I thought why not build a pair of Cornscalas. My CSs got over built compared to Bob's normal recipe and turned out fantastic. I, and most of my HiFi friends agree that they sounded a step or two above my/Claude's KHorns. Fast forward to last winter when I built my current Jub-like clones. This is a whole new ball game! Yes, I though an extra amp and an active Xover might be more expensive and complicated, but as it turned out, well with it! With Chris's help on setting up the XP4080, it was a piece of cake. Do yourself a favour and cut to the chase, if you want the most satisfying Klipsch Heritage sound... Jubilee!!!
  7. I will get off my lazy butt this weekend and take some current pics. The CAM ad in my link is from when I purchased the 630 a couple of years ago. It is in the exact same condition, other than the broken AM antenna bracket that I had my tech guy replace from a donor HK630.
  8. I have not really paid too much attention to the going rates for these classy receivers, am I out of whack with my asking price?
  9. Outstanding job avguytx!!! But for a second there I thought you moved the new Bella into the barn...
  10. Thanks jim and js. I figured I might have had some action on this baby by now, not even a tire kicker yet. It is in very nice shape and works great, but it seems a waste just sitting here not getting a chance to make music. My HK930 gets a little more use, primarily when I want to fire up the Cornscalas instead of the Jub-Likes but this HK630 plays the CSs great too. Then there is my mint Yamaha CR-2020 that is in the living room upstairs driving my Cherry Frugalhorns. Point being, I have too many great receivers... so someone should grab this HK630.
  11. SOLD Hey Guys, I have a very nice Harman Kardon HK630 for sale… Asking $275 shipped from 14305. (PayPal as F&F) I bought this about 2 years ago, if not for the broken AM antenna bracket, it was in mint condition. I had my tech guy take the bracket from a donor 630 that I had and he replaced it so now this receiver shows very close to perfect. Other than the replaced bracket, I believe she is all original. It comes with the OEM box and manual, which are in pretty good condition for their age. With me also having a HK 930 in the same condition (although, it has been recapped) and then with my main speakers (Jub-like clones) being active, I find myself not using the 630 much. So it's time for someone else to enjoy it and see why everybody talks so highly of these vintage HKs when paired with our Heritage speakers. I can take some current pics tonight and email them out to anybody that is interested, but meanwhile here is a link to the classified that I purchased from: http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649216224-vintage-hk-630-receiver-close-to-mint/ Thanks for looking...
  12. Nice sv! Is that a Nakamichi ZX-9 I spy in the bottom of your rack? I had one when they first came out, that was a great machine which compared very well against my buddy's Revox B77. When I read the title of this tread it reminded me of Groomlakearea51 posts on his "Wall of Voodoo". Unfortunately I do not see any of Mashall's pics in the thread.
  13. I ended up with switching from a Dx38 to a Xilica XP-4080 and could not be more satisfied. As Chris just mentioned, Xilica is a Canadian company, that gave me great customer service both before and after I purchased my 4080. As for Electra Voice, I am still waiting for a response to my several email questions to their customer service department. Mind you it has only been since Feb. 2017, so maybe EV is just backed up a bit. Both the DX38 and XP-4080 will do the trick, I prefer the Xilica.
  14. I am glad you guys gave RP a try! Yep, they play such a wide range of stuff and still manage to segue between tracks and styles seamlessly. Thanks to RP, I have discovered lots of music that I normally would not have come across. Happy Listening!
  15. My favorite is Radio Paradise. https://www.radioparadise.com/rp_2.php?# RP would be classified as "Eclectic", they play everything from Bach to Zappa. Sound quality is decent, especially if you use their higher bit rate.
  16. I just posted this in the Alerts section, for those that are looking to upgrade their plastic spinners...
  17. For those in the market for a new cartridge for their TTs... http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649381466-all-goldring-inventory-on-sale-40-off-retail-free-shipping/ Seems like very attractive pricing while they last, especially considering the Canadian / US exchange rate.
