I am getting an Onkyo M-504 with matching preamp.  I plan on connecting my laptop with a microphone to RCA cable (unless I should do it differently).

I was advised an inexpensive DAC will make a noticeable difference.  I was told:

An American company makes a 99.00 dac and I read it's damn good. It's the Schiit modi 3e.

    Can anyone confirm?

Cannot confirm the DAC but would first setup the Onkyo and give a listen.

Generally agree about DACs can improve the sound quality, especially with Youtube. Even an inexpensive one.

    They are sold now.
He is a member of the Vintage Klipsch Fans Facebook group that I am in,  I saw these yesterday but the drive was a bit too far for me to go after work or this weekend.  I would have loved to pick up a 2nd pair of Heresys.

How much were listed for @JTYoung... thanks.

  3. Price with shipping seems easy enough. Can certainly see someone getting, and giving some TLC...may be some of the pro stuff from the Garage Sale here.

    Thank you.

I just tried to switch from outputs 1 to outputs 2. Tried flipping the toggle from 0 to 180. I'm now updating the software on my couple month old Denon X4800H to see if that does anything. The auto off and on works fine so I know it's getting the signal at least.

Sounds like a plan... Stay with it and let know please... thanks.

Are there any other simple things I should try to get it to start working again

    Sounds like intermittent alright.

Could be something as simple as a resistor getting too warm.

Another person recently having a problem. Not a bench tech so recommend doing a search of this forum for the little amount of posts in archive on this amp. Always enjoyed mine. Kept mine in a cool place with plenty of air. If you are comfortable with electronics, you can unplug and take a look.

    Welcome btw... @Hamezys

    Sorry Guys

I have been MIA for some time now.

    From memory,

There were a few P Parts hid around.

Reach out to Jeremey McWilliams in customer service. He will be about the only one left there that may have a clue where they may be.

There was no other speaker line that had that driver. Klipsch sold off much of the old stock parts to Simply Speakers  (I think)  If they have one listed, it may be a stock part.

    That's My 2db

    Good luck.

Did you follow up on this @HenningO... thanks, or did you score...
