  1. I have a large bottle of Louisiana's hot sauce, I do like Chipotle Tobasco. I do have Franks red hot but wont use it as not recommended.
  2. Well, like the one fellow doing the interview said even djs using vinyl don't even know about leveling or using a stylus gauge. So those are very basic but maybe will open peoples eyes. She did also state that for djs that might be all that is needed for the hifi system it can take up to 2 days.
  3. dido, I once went to a McIntosh dealer and told him that I wanted to mate a McIntosh ss amp with my diy tube pre amp and Klipsch Heresies. He told that I shouldn't because that all those items weren't in the same league. Well I did and it sounds GREAT!! He obviously felt I should only buy Hi end audio from his store, so yes your speakers are fine for your amp. We have to start some where and are either happy with what we have, or we upgrade. Remember to have with this hobby I feel the only wrong thing to do would be to do something that would damage your gear.
  4. are you looking for a new plate amp for the sub in a hd 300 system, If so support@klipsch.com, or 1-800-554-7724. Which they might have some new parts for that. If not and you are looking for a after market part we need to know the specs of the sub, and box. Thanks and welcome to the forum.

  6. Well that looks simple enough, I will give it a try.
  7. Next weekend since my brother in law is in town, I thought I would fry up some shrimp I have had in the freezer. Looking for some good fried shrimp recipes, I have read to fry around 375 degrees for about 2 mins. Does this seem about right.
  8. With lcd, and I think even led tvs you don't have to worry. Mainly tube tvs.
  9. Good for you and your son Youthman. I am right with you, my kids don't have some of the stuff yours does. But my daughter does have her yamaha speakers, and technics turntable. They to have to earn their money by the amount of chores they do there is no set allowance if they don't do all their chores they don't get all their money. My daughter bought her own camera for with her own money and she takes better care of it then her friends do with their own stuff.
  10. This is why I was thinking of a bi amped system might work better. But I don't for sure, after your pre amp you would then run to the active cross over like the Behringer ULTRA-DRIVE PRO DCX2496, then 3 tube mono blocks for the horn section, and 3 channels of Emo on the bottom end. I know there are alot of techs around that could explain if this would work properly but that is how I would think it might. So you would get that tube sound on the hf/mf, and solid state for the lower end. But I wouldn't think that the surrounds would need to be as hot as the fronts. So maybe a good tube amp would work just find.
  11. Here is the guys email if you want to see what he has to offer, lee@electronaddict.com or his website which I haven't been to but you can check it out ElectronAddict.com
  12. I am going to my tube guy today, if there is something you might be interested as nos. Let me know I can get a price for you.
  13. It might be best to post what you are looking for in the garage sale section like Mighty Favog said, If you are looking for used or new old stock that is. If you want after market I would do a search through out the forum site, that will point you in the direction of those. As for new oem I think Klipsch parts department would be best.
  14. That makes perfect sense, well to me. I think this would work pretty good all most worth giving it a try.
  15. I all ways enjoyed hearing my grandfathers story of this day, he was at the movies when it happened. The lights just went out for the show to start, then came back on with the theater manager coming to tell them the news. They closed the theater and sent everyone home(the days when it meant more to be with family then make money). His brother was drafted the next day, and three days later he was. I believe his time was spent as a mp on Omaha beach.
  16. How about bi amping. I always wanted what it would be like with three monoblocks on the hf horns for the l/c/r, and use 3 channels of your Emotiva for the bottom end, you would need a active 3 channel crossover. But who knows, it would be a little costly but might work.
  17. I can see what you mean 40.00 vs 800.00. But I will say for 800.00 he offers a sound test showing were you are on reverberation kind of stuff. I don't think that the local guys go that far for a lot more money. Now only if he was coming to Nebraska, and now I just need a finished home theater.
  18. I am using chrome and it came up fine.
  19. Here it goes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!wow that took a lot longer then I expected.
  20. Kind of on the same lines of Moray, If all drivers appear to work, and physically they are nice looking. Such as no water damage, what you consider major dings and dents, and scratches. I would listen for about a month or 2 and then yes the only thing after that is replacing the caps(which is kind of like replacing the plugs on a car its a tune up thing) which I would start with oem replacements from someone such as Bob Crites or since they have his tweeters ask what he recommends. If you feel that something just isn't there then we can go a little further but for now that is were I would start. Good luck on your journey.
  21. I use the r-5650-s. I don't have enough room between my entertainment center and tv, and that would be the reason I decided to build a custom entertainment center so my speaker will set in the cabinet at the same height as the Academy now.
  22. I made a pair of Gothover's Drifts but with a 15 degree downward angle. To be truthful I haven't been able to get them wired up to the surround system. But have had the chance to listen to as a 2 channel setup and they do sound nice. Once I get my whole theater done, the last thing is get every thing veneered. I will say the one thing I wish I did different was angle the baffles instead of the back. Sorry for the small pic, its all I have for now. They ran me just around 700 for the pair to build.
  23. I have been tossing some ideas around in my head about the bar I would like to build in my theater room. So you know my over all room is about 30' by 15' maybe 33' by 15' don't know the exact measurements. I would like to build a simple bar to seat about 3-4 people with a simple bar back. I was thinking about 42" high for the bar then step down to about 36" . I don't know how deep to make it, and how much space between the bar and bar back. I figured the bar back would be about 24" deep since that is standard depth of cabinets. Then I would add some shelves. This would be in the back of the theater room.
