  1. Congrats, looks like you have a couple of diy tube amps, hope they sound great to your likeing, look nice by the way. nick
  2. We must work with the same guy, when i bought my Heresies he asked if they were as good as Bose. I told him I like the sound of these over anything I've herd in my life, so in my opinion they were better. So he went home and check out the specks on line, and decided it was time to get rid of his unused electronics,TVs, radios, Bose, etc... Decide to build (buy)a car faster than my stock Dodge Charger. I told him good for you, I am sticking with audio, for now. nick
  3. Right on, Right on man. I to would like to thank all who served, thanks to all. nick
  4. I went to the blue jean website, was looking at their speaker wire and connections. Has anybody around here used the spade connections on older Heritage speaker connections, always seem to have troubles finding something that fits in there. Any suggestions. thanks nick hope I didn't hijack this thread.
  5. Wait it just went to like a jaz/blues kind of sound. never mind what i just said.
  6. So are we only going with a certain type of funk, cause I just picked up a few new Rolling Stones albums. And some of it sounds funky to me, boy am I digging it. Keep in mind this is coming from a 27 year old metal/deathmetal head. nick
  7. What do you want us to do, GET THE FUNK OUT OF HERE.
  8. Dont look to bad even the way you got them. congrats on the score. nick
  9. I just got mine off of ebay for around 10-20.00 something like that theres a company that makes all different kinds.
  10. Is that walnut plywood, or just a veneer. Also how long have they been mounting the speakers from the outside. Man theres so much to catch up on.
  11. I could agree with this I keep going over the demensions, and looking at them in the living room. Everytime it still amazes me how big they are. Really listen to what hes saying about this these things are huge, compared to everyday usage speakers.
  12. Welcome to the forum, nice room, I like you just got my first Cornwalls this last weekend. They are the Cornwall 1s so I don't know comparison but I still like a lot, only thing is the tweeters are out of them until I come up with the cash to get new diaphragms from Bob Crites. Hope you enjoy. I know I will Nick
  13. Stands look nice and sturdy, and they also match your audio gear stands. Nice work. nick
  14. Thanks but i think I will just pick up a pair(diaphrams that is) from Bob that seems to be best for my budge.
  15. Its confirmed the diaphrams are bad even had my local audio guy check them for me. Now I have 3 options 1. Bob Crites I dont recall if the price is for a pair or each, if each alot better price but who are they made buy I guess I could contact him direct. 2. is Klipsch direct but man are they pricey. 3. Local from my EV dealer for about 60.00 a pair little less price than from Klipsch but no shipping and EV brand. Just wanted everyone input on this if the EV ones are worth it as if I have anything to gain or loss using them. I suspect since everybody uses Bobs there must be nothing rong with them for the price. thanks Nick
  16. thanks for the input guys I think with these concepts I can work around what ever we end up with, worse case situation I can just use my Cornwalls for fronts.
  17. sorry miss worded that. didnt mean 40" from the corner just at least 40" of wall, from the corner on each side of the horn
  18. The wife and I have been looking at two different house to buy lately, lucky for me she is being understanding for what I want to do with the new house. As far wanting the right place to build a home theater. My dilemma is that I dream of using K-horns for the fronts, and one of the house the room I would have to use is we bit smaller then the other house. So what kind of space will I need for these I know that I need at least 40" on each side of the K-horns for proper placement, does this mean I need at least 80" between the two fronts which shouldn't be a problem but how deep should the room be do they need a lot for the surrounds, and backs or can you cram it all in 15-18 deep. Just trying to see if anyone out there has something this small of if this is just right or whats idea for something like this, would be using Heresy for surrounds, and in walls for rears, or vise verse. thanks nick
  19. I used both methods, I stuffed a towel in the mid and turned the treble up an bass down, herd nothing coming(or the same thing at least may not be nothing but nothing noticeably herd) from tweeters in both speakers. Now is there a mechanical way to verifying that its the tweeters or crossovers. By the way these bad boys still sound awesome, so much music through out the hole hose and backyard. thanks nick
  20. Probably cause they are so freaking huge people just think they are part of the structure of the house. I know I would.
  21. I am heading to the storage shed here in a few moments. I must confess I haven't even hooked anything up to them since it was late last night. Like I said earlier in the first post the guy said he couldn't hear the tweeters on both maybe he just can't pick at the high frq. from the mids. But i will find out here shortly. I just didn't want to do anymore damage before hooking up. thanks nick
  22. If I have time tomorrow i will post pics. I tell you what these are a lot bigger than you think. Its been so long since I've seen a pair forgot how big they were. So the gentleman I bought them from said that he herd nothing from the small tweeters(not twiters), How should I test these, and is anything else I should check. thanks nick
  23. Cornwall dimensions dont sound to bad until you get them in a 10x10 room. Maybe I need to build a bigger listening room. Nick
  24. too much to quote here. I'm with Wuzzer, I think its a psychological thing. Also like Mechman, and Downunder said makes them look classy and leaves more for the imagination. But I am a big fan of nakedness.
