Actually Volti makes their own horns which are quite nice. I have three of his large mid tractrix horns in my basement system, and the sound is excellent. I don't know what drivers he uses and his speakers are expensive (for me anyway) but I don't doubt they are well engineered and put together. I don't think there is any good reason to crap on his efforts. If Volti makes their own horns then I stand corrected and retract my statement as that would make the speakers cohesive and unique enough to warrant being sold commercially under its own brand. I was not commenting on the quality of the speakers, just the price. I believe these do fill an interesting space though as Klipsch as a modern company (Other than the Pro Stuff) has moved almost entirely to 2 way smaller footprint boxes and I think I read somewhere here they have an agreement that the heritage line cannot be modified too much. That leaves a development gap for a larger box Cornwall type 3 way speaker with Tractrix horns rather than exponential. It probably puts Klipsch in a strange spot to develop a speaker like this as it could diminish sales of the Cornwall III but at the same time the Cornwall cannot be updated with the new Tractrix horns. The Cornwall III does have a Tractrix HF horn but an Exponential MF horn.

I believe that the Volti designs are further evidence that PWK was a man before his time and got most of it right. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

I like what Justin and Gregg are doing!!! The Cornwall is a good design. To me, they're just proving that Paul was on to something very Big!!!!! Paul had the dream, realized it, made it, and now a new generation of designers are running with that vision and dream!!!!

Of course that could happen but it's a possibility, not a probability. I have great faith in the system that the truth would come out. +++ I'm being sincere when I say the cops can search my car, search my house, it's really not a problem. Where I would draw the line is if they ask me to consent to a voluntary cavity search. I like the cops, but not that much. That's the fear that people of color live with. I've learned (in my three years in law enforcement) that even if there is nothing - if the LEO is corrupt, they will make something up. I was even called in by my police chief one time LOL!!!! My chief called me in to his office and asked me why I had a "bubble gum machine". I told him it wasn't a bubble gum machine - I didn't even know what a bubble gum machine was LOL!!!! He told me that he could put me in with the criminals that I watch each day. He said corrections personnel don't have the right to have a blue light in their car. Then I knew what he was talking about, - that wasn't a blue light - that was a blue Roadway shipping cup that sits on your dash ( I got it from my previous place of employment as a customer service manager). My wife was the driver and she put her morning coffee it the cup. I told him it was a cup and that I could show it to him when my wife picked me up from work in the evening. He told me never mind - that he believed me, but I left out of there saying ...I'm not trying to stay in law enforcement long.

I asked him how rare are people of color at audio shows. He told me extremely rare!!! Do you ever have a problem going into a high end store and people "qualifying" you as as a customer?

As a resident of Florida, I've basically complied if stopped. My only bad experiences have been in Alabama. However I can sympathize with Teaman...Windsor tunnel and ambassador bridge...LOL brings back memories. We'd always go to Canada for our beef because of the PBB/ PCB poisoning in the mid 70's! Same thing when they ask "where are you going"? You point down the road and say "that way". I realize this is a seemingly innocent tactic to see if you start giving weird conflicting statements and more or less to see how you react, but still, It's none of their business where you are going, nothing good can come from your explanation. Montgomery....yeah - i'm going to let them search. I've seen enough in Detroit back in the 70's with the Big 4 units, and other things as well. Is it right...no, but what can you do? I fear for my sons because they are financially independent and have decent vehicles. This however makes them open for profiling (My youngest got tazed in Huntsville in the performance of his military duties...he was authorized to wear civvies - that officer was fired after they found out that he was active duty military and hadn't done anything worthy of a stop except drive a brand new Buick Regal, with a Fl tag in Huntsville where people of his kind don't have those type of vehicles...it was a Buick).

I agree with you here. However, you have the small percentage of corrupt cops that are protected by the "blue shield" or "brotherhood". This brotherhood is not one of pigmentation but occupation and power. How do I know...because I worked in corrections for almost three years. It was very scary working in that environment - you not only had to watch the inmates...you had to watch the officers as well, especially if you were a tower operator because they thought you were planted snitches in the first place. I would never cross a police line, however I also expect not to be stopped on general purposes either. I'm also a holder of a Verbal Judo certificate, stating that I'm well trained in the art of de-escalation. I can see what's happening on both sides of the fence because I've lived there

I know this is a very old thread, however Klipsch friends, I've come to a WAF impasse. I took a trip to Jacksonville Fl. and picked up two pair of Infinity Overture 1's. The next day, I hooked them up, performed some measurements, and then used Mathaudio vst in JRiver as my only eq. I was very surprised at their performance. My wife came up to the listening room and stated "All of that is coming out of those little speakers?!" I told her "Yes, but I'm, not giving up my Cornwalls"! She then replied "They're giving your Corns a run for their money"! I purchased those Overture 1's for a song - and said the only way I might even consider replacing the Corns is if I could get Preludes for a similar type song - and even then it wouldn't be certain. I worked and searched long and hard to get the Cornwalls that I have. Fate would have it....I now have a pair of Preludes (the original ones with the 96db sensitivity rating). They haven't arrived yet, but like Q-bert said in Pixels "I don't know, but I'm scared"! The Compositions series (Overtures and Preludes) are horn loaded only in the treble (horn waveguide). I must admit they did sound great and coupled with my subwoofers...it sounds fantastic!!!! I've got my heels dug in on my Corns, but I would gain quite a bit of space with the Preludes seeing that they are less than a foot wide. I'm asking my Klipsch brethren that have had experiences with the Preludes how the Corns would compare. I'm going to do my own listening test when they get here and trust my own ears, but I'd like to know your opinions. I'm also thinking that the benefit of DSP Equalization has placed a lot of good speakers on an even playing level. Corey Greenburg once called the Overtures "unlistenable" - but that was during a time of no DSP equalization either. I've had people say my Cornwalls don't sound like what they've said traditional Klipsch sound like - they say the "harshness" is tamed, they're still very lively - but the very thing that people complain about is gone. I'm wondering what the Preludes will sound like in my room, let alone compared to my wonderful Cornwalls!
