  1. I've seen it twice now and I have to say it's a great movie. There is a LOT going on under the surface WRT religion and the Prophecy. I won't talk about it here because I don't want to fill the thread with spoilers. BTW, did any of you know that at the very end of the credits there's a trailer for The Matrix Revolutions? I saw so many people walking out I felt sorry for them. It's a full trailer with lots of good info. For any of you that are interested, there is a 19 page discussion about TMR going on at hometheaterforum. It really dissects the movie (in a good way).
  2. jhawk, you picked up some K-horns? Congrats buddy! Beautiful room Ed, beautiful.

  4. Well, I paid $490 for my oiled oak Academy on Ebay. It was more than I wanted to pay but I went for it anyway. I had lost three Academy auctions and I was tired of it. In the end I'm glad I spent the extra money. The Academy is a great match for my Forte II's.
  5. >>Just ask Erdric after he listened to my system<< LOL jhawk demo'd his system and sent me on a klipsch upgrade binge. Thanks to him I now have a pair of Forte II's and an Academy. I had a pair of Kg-4's for mains in my HT setup and was very happy. However, compared to his Chorus II's and Forte II's the bass output of my Kg-4's sounded anemic, even with my SVS lending support. I had to upgrade and ended up with the Forte II's. The Kg-4's are now in my 2 channel system. I've said in the past that I don't feel the need to upgrade to the Chorus II's because I'm so happy with the Forte II's. Yeah, right. Those Forte II's will make great rear surrounds Wow, it feels good to be talking audio again. Despite my best efforts I got sucked into some of the war threads. No more.
  6. Well, I've been involved with some of the threads, despite my better judgement. I've always had a problem with people that twist the truth to serve their argument. It gets me really, really pissed. That said, I've decided that I'm not going to participate any more. I don't think I was anywhere near the level of some people but it still wasn't the best thing for me to do. Will I ever post to one of the war threads again...never say never but I'm going to do my very best to avoid it. Without naming names, some of the people involved do not deserve to have access to this forum.
  7. >>America can simply place chemical weapons in Iraq and claim that they found it there. Because of this, I will NEVER believe any such reports from America.<< An argument that will be used by the opponents of America to justify their viewpoint. What exactly was Iraq creating in that hidden chemical facility? If you think it was benign products then you have zero credibility. Support your viewpoint but don't undermine it with stupidity.
  8. >>Providing this IS a what they think it is(a chemical weapons factory),you have many countries around the world who have such "illegal" plants.<< This is probably true, Ear, but Iraq is the only one that has been ordered by the UN to disarm and destroy such facilities. The current proposed resolution was opposed by Russia, France, and Germany but those countries voted to disarm Iraq in prior resolutions. This hidden factory is the first reasonably credible physical evidence that Iraq has been lying.
  9. I don't have any knowledge of inner circles either so take my comments with a grain of salt.
  10. I'm with Ear on this one, at least in stating they've found WMD. However, I don't believe they are supposed to have chemical weapons either. Also, why oh why wasn't this factory disclosed in the reports Iraq presented to the UN? It certainly doesn't look good. I too am glad they found this factory. I've had this fear the US would invade and not find this type of facility. Man that would look bad. As for Russia, Germany, and France going against the UN...I can't wait to see how that turns out. No wonder they didn't want to approve a new resolution. Makes you wonder what else has been smuggled in.
  11. I'm not sure what you're reading but the Forte and Forte II are quite well thought of here. Yes, the Cornwall is highly thought of but it's a Heritage line speaker and those are considered the creme de la creme of klipsch. Many people argue that the Forte II is the best sounding speaker klipsch has ever made (I read that here, I'm not making it up!). It was comments like that which led me to buy my Forte II. Look at it this way...consider the Forte/Forte II to be a Lexus and the Cornwall to be a high-end BMW. Both are pretty damn good.
  12. >>..I find the above quote disturbing.... e-marketing is the art of telling you that the guy with the watches under the coat is great and that there is nothing wrong with his watches and that he stands behind them.... "bottom-feeders" feed on the need to make themselves and others believe that it's not about cost and that they KNOW they made a good decision And they don't have to let their own ears decide...they can trust the faceless multitudes on-line....<< There are a number of people here that are extremely knowledgeable and I trust them completely, despite not knowing them off-line. Doug, StevenP, HornEd, jhawk (who I do know off-line), Gil, fini, Boa and many others. These people have given me solid advice that I've used to turn my mediocre speaker setup into one that I am very proud of. I used their opinions in addition to using my ears. For the most part you can tell when a person actually knows what they're talking about, especially when you ask the right questions. It's perfectly acceptable to trust others opinions on Klipsch and absolutely acceptable to trust the reputation of Klipsch (when considering the older speakers). I do appreciate you coming onto the board and implying the people here "bottom-feeders". Trust me, the implication is there, whether you admit it or not. This board has definitely taken a turn for the worse recently...
  13. Iago, Is there a point to repeating the post over and over again? EDIT: Looks like the admins deleted the extra posts.
  14. BobG, I hope you'll be able to give me some kind of response to the following questions: Has there ever been any discussion about bringing back the 'extended Heritage' line in the form of the Chorus III and Forte III, perhaps throw in an Academy II? Is there any chance of a scenario like this actually happening? It would seem that these speakers would not present the space problems that dealers are concerned with and the lower prices of the two (compared to the Klipschorn, Belle, LaScala) would certainly help move more product. Now, I understand that these speakers would probably be considered competition for the Reference line and my gut tells me this is one of the big issues. However, and I mean this in the nicest way, the Reference line doesn't hold a candle to the 'extended Heritage' line. I think that's a common opinion around here, at least with long time owners. It's not that the Reference line is bad. It's kind of like comparing a Lexus to a Rolls Royce. Both are very, very nice but you know the RR is the one to have. I hope that Klipsch LLP considers bringing back this line, if only for a couple of years. You would sell a lot of speakers. I don't have a lot of disposable income these days but I can tell you this, if a Chorus III model were available tomorrow I would be there with my credit card out. I'm sorry to say that is not the case with the Reference line. I have no intention of ever owning Reference line. Unless something like the 'extended Heritage' line reappears then I'm afraid the only place I'll be buying Klipsch is Ebay. I think there are a lot of people here that feel the same way. Thanks for reading and if you have any thoughts or information you can share, please do.
  15. I have to admit I'm very tempted to bid on that. Klipsch and LOTR on the same shirt? Very cool. Man, I am such a loser.
  16. Trying very hard to maintain my composure... Boomer, Are you even reading the posts or are you just ignoring the content because it doesn't fit your agenda? SVS OWNERS AREN'T POSTING TO THE KLIPSCH FORUM, KLIPSCH OWNERS WHO ALSO OWN SVS ARE POSTING TO THE KLIPSCH FORUM! This forum has NOT been taken over by SVS! It has been taken over by KLIPSCH OWNERS (imagine that) that are posting about SVS. If you don't like the posts then don't read them. >>QUESTION.....WHO SHOULD SUPPORT SVS QUESTIONS.... KLIPSCH CAUSE YOU ALL STATE THEY SHOULD(I own product) OR SVS...myyyyy, thats so hard.... LAST BUT LEAST, WHO OWNS THIS WEBSITE, SO CONFUSED<< Klipsch is not supporting SVS owners that do not own Klipsch, Klipsch is supporting KLIPSCH OWNERS that own SVS. Would you have them censor the forum? >>To EasyListener, Klipsch has been around and survived long before you knew of it's existance, Klipsch will always be there SVS??????<< This logic makes no sense whatsoever. Just because SVS is new and Klipsch is not doesn't mean that SVS won't last. Is a new retail site like Amazon.com not going to last because it hasn't been around as long as Sears has been around? Please. Why is all of this so hard to understand?
  17. Let me try again. The people here are members of the Klipsch board and mostly Klipsch owners. The reason there are 15+ posts on the first page of the Powered Subwoofers section is because Klipsch owners WANT to talk about SVS. No one is posting just to flood the board with SVS posts. Sorry, even if SVS had their own forum people here would still post about their Klipsch/SVS combo. This SVS talk is not isolated. As I stated before, SVS gets a lot of talk at many forums and it has been this way for over 2 years. If you want to have more people talk about their Klipsch/Klipsch sub combo then either one of two things needs to happen: 1. the Klipsch sub owners will have to post more often and have people respond to those posts. 2. Klipsch LLP will have to improve their subs to the point that they perform better than SVS, especially in the price/performance ratio. Doing that would bring more people back to Klipsch for their subs. #1 could happen if more people bought and used Klipsch subs. However, more and more people find SVS to be a better product. Don't count on #2 happening any time soon. BTW, I'm a long time and very dedicated Klipsch owner. If there was any way a Klipsch sub could have topped an SVS sub in performance, let alone price, I would have bought one just due to brand loyalty.
  18. "They should start their own SVS forum" 99% of us here are KLIPSCH OWNERS talking about OUR SVS. We aren't random people that decided to 'crash' a competitors website in order to discuss SVS. SVS are talked about on this board, hometheaterforum, AVS, hometheaterspot, HTguide, and many others. Why? Because they are amazing performers at an even more amazing price. Products like that tend to get talked about in many places. As it has already been mentioned, Tom Vodhanel, co-founder and designer of SVS is a Klipsch owner. He designed his first SVS to go with his Klipsch because he couldn't find anything else that did the job. Are you telling me that we shouldn't discuss a subwoofer that was DESIGNED to mate with Klipsch? I've listened to a fair amount of subs and NONE of them, including Klipsch's own, sound as good as SVS with my Forte II, KG-4's or KG-3's. If I, or any other KLIPSCH owner here wants to spread the word about SVS then we have every right to do so. Should we ban all of the Rotel/Denon/tube amp talk on this board? After all, Klipsch owns Aragon. Joining a forum and starting negative threads based on little or no information on the subject is not the way to make a good impresssion, IMO
  19. >>Klipsch needs to open their own stores (even if it is 1 to 2 dozen stores nationwide in the big markets). This would allow them to get all of the current Heritage on display. I think this is the biggest difficulty regarding the Heritage - Klipsch could sell more of these if they could be seen. If Klipsch did this, I would be first in line to fill out an application. Such a move on Klipsch's part would be sufficient to get me back into selling again. Promoting Klipsch Heritage is something I can do in my sleep - it's genetic<< You know, this doesn't sound like such a bad idea when you think about it. They'd need to carry source epqm, amps, and processors to go along with the speakers but I think that it might work in a few select areas. Imagine a store with 4 or 5 sound rooms, each custom designed to show off a specific Heritage speaker. Throw another 1 or 2 in for Reference series and you'd have one nice setup. I know I'd be hanging out there all the time. Sounds like a great idea so you know it won't happen.
  20. Stupid question...How do you know how much wattage is being used? Is there a meter of some sort on the amp? I know that some power conditioners have voltage meters on them.
  21. Thanks, it helps a lot. I had a feeling you wouldn't be able to find this information easily in a spec. It sounded to me that this characteristic would be difficult to achieve in a mass market amp/receiver, especially multi-channel. I'm going to check out some of your recommendations. I'm familiar with Classe and McIntosh by name only. I've haven't had a chance to listen to them, though. Monarchy Audio is new to me. I've listened to Rotel with Paradigm speakers but not with Klipsch yet. However, Paradigm is known to be a bit bright so I considered it a reasonable demo. I loved the sound. I've read that Rotel is considered warm but I found it to be more neutral/slightly warm to my ears. A number of people here and at HTF use Rotel with Klipsch so I suspect it's a good match. I may eventually end up with a system for 2 channel music that is independent of the HT setup (in the same room). I currently have a 2 channel setup in my studio with KG-4's and NAD separates. Very nice to my ears. Thanks again.
  22. >>IMO, the most talented band ever, and I'm not even Canadian.<< Well, in terms of musicianship I can see the argument for this title. Most talented overall...I might put the Beatles in that spot.
  23. I was following a thread over in the updating older speakers section "Forte II's getting long in the tooth". http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=31357&sessionID={11F76D17-B2C3-4D30-BBC2-E8BCEC11BA6C}} Dndphisin brought up the point that Klipsch are so efficient and therefore don't demand a lot of power output. Because of this characteristic, it's important to have an amp that puts out a good first watt. I posted in that thread to get some more info but I think the thread has died. I thought I'd repost what I asked over there to see if I could get some more info. " I was wondering about the "quality first watt" theory. How does one tell if an amp has a "quality first watt"? Is it a spec issue? Is it something that's easily looked up or do you have to demo and listen for distortion? Are there manufacturers that are known to have this quality? I'm using my system for HT so I want SS amp. I've been planning on picking up a Rotel amp when I get some more cash. Does anyone know if Rotel has a "quality first watt"?" So, does anyone have info on this topic? Dndphisin, are you out there?
