  3. Hi The Aragon retails for $4000
  4. Flip the center Cornwall vertical and place Heresy's in the in the correct location as per the EX/ES spec and you may have something Smiling back at Ya
  5. Hi I would not use a pair of RS series speakers for the EX channels in the rear Mono pole is the specification because you are trying to recreate a large rear center with localization Mounting a pair of RS-7 on the side wall in the null of the listening position and a pair or RS series speakers on the back wall will make the rear too diffuse If you are going to use a RS series speaker for the EX channel use one located in the middle of the rear wall remember that the RS series are wide dispersion speakers Mono Pole for the rear surrounds and then mono pole for the EX channel would be ok but the EX channels should be mounted or placed closer together than the fronts RF-7 front RC-7 center RF-7 surrounds RF-35 or RB-75 EX channel would be ok RF-7 front RC-7 center RS-7 Side wall RF-35 EX Channel would be ok RF-7 front RC-7 center RS-7 surrounds on side wall and RS-7 EX would not be ok unless you used a single RS-7 for the EX or a single RC-7 for the EX make sense ?
  6. The RS series speakers need to be mounted in the null or as close to the null area as possible This mount was made from 24" of 1" galv pipe 2- 1" floor flanges 1-90 degree elbow and a close nipple the pipe was covered with split loom speaker wire was run inside the pipe the floor flange on top has now been painted to match ceiling the weight of the surround pictured was about 38lbs all the parts were found at Home Depot cost was about $10 This was installed for a client that wanted to maintain performance of his existing system in his new home The new home had no back wall to mount speakers as you can see there is a window for one side wall If you cant mount your RS-35's in the null of the listening position I would suggest selling them and then purchacing some RCR-5's for inceiling installation Hope this helps

  8. Hi For good multi channel performance it is best to use speakers that have the same sonic signature (same manufacture and models) on all channels Placement for a 5.1 or 7.1 system is also important for good performance try to keep the tweeters of the front speakers as close to ear level as possible and try to keep them on an even plane with each other Placing a center channel in a very high location when the front left and front right are in a low position will not sound balanced and will sound unnatural Pans from Left,Center,Right and Right Center Left will not be seamless for basic setup of the front mains use the triangle rule (IE If the fronts are 10ft apart your listening position should be 10ft back) this will give you a basic place to start setting up your system Room size, shape, and room content will all be a factor in how your system will sound You also need to keep in mind that the speakers you mention for use in a home theater system are of low sensitivity 87 or 88 db 1 watt 1 meter That means you will need a very powerful amp to obtain moderate to high listening levels in a larger size room and even then these will not give you the WOW effect of a high sensitivity high impact/dynamic speaker like Klipsch or others Hope this helps
  9. Hi I was told the new THX system will start shipping Mid-Feb

The system sounded amazing smooth detailed and dynamic the new Klipsch THX center is the best center I have ever heard
  11. Hi Is there a reason you are not looking at Plasma's ? I didn't quite understand your post did you want a 4:3 or a 16:9 widescreen? If its 4:3 then the reason you are not looking at Plasma's is understood With that said you could just about squeeze(pun intended) into a 46" High Quality Plasma for around $4k As for the speakers why not look at the new RSX-5 system from Klipsch Go to min page then >Products>Reference Series>Page #3> RSX-5 or RSX-4 System Cheers
  12. Hi Just about anything that is not a heavy drape, fabric or acoustical plug for the glass area will have little impact to treat slap echo The weight of the fabric and the actual pleating of the drape is what will be effective The pleate of the drape acts like a diffusor here is an artical that may help you http://www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html
  13. HI I think what you are looking for is room acoustical treatment and not sound proofing Placing absorptive material in high places or in highly reflective cavities will do absolutely nothing for your slap echo problem but here are some choices that may help you #1 Try to eliminate (as much as possible) any hard reflective surfaces between you and your front main speakers (example) a big glass coffee table in front of your listening position is not good If you cant move or don't have any movable reflective surfaces read on #2 Ok so you have allot of reflective surfaces that cant be moved here are some solutions to treat them Tile floor : A large thick area rug between you and your speakers will work wonders Widows : Heavy pleated curtains will help here It would be of great benefit if you could fit acoustical panels into your decor at the first reflection on the side walls these are now available in various materials and colors to fit in most decors Having over stuffed furniture in a room preferably cloth will help tame slap echos for acoustical ceilings that are the exposed beam type a few hanging clouds will help but this may not fit in with your decor A large book case filled with books of various depths in the rear can simulate a diffuser A coat rack filled with large coats on the side wall can be of benefit and lastly active room equalization as a last resort I realize that some of the above can not be implemented in most room decors for one reason or another but some of them may help you
  14. Hi Keep in mind if you go with the RB-75 for the rear effects/EX channel that the RS-7 has a different tweeter than the RF-7,RC-7 and RB-75 It may be wiser to use the RB-15,RB-25 0r RB-35 as the EX channel speaker when using the RS-7 as the surrounds as they employ the same tweeter as the RS-7 Mamacmil you have PM
  15. Hi The new RSX series are awesome for there size You can use just about any of the lower end receivers to drive them If they really want compact and economy even the new all in one DVD/Receivers with the digital amps would be a good choice Sherwood Newcastle plans on releasing one soon that will be higher quality than the mass produced ones Cheers
  16. Hi The 852 was a decent projector back in the early 90's. Today its a little dated but can give you an extremely nice picture if set up properly. If you have never installed and calibrated a front crt projector you had better hire a pro to set it up for you. The learning curve is way to steep for a newbie to do it and if you try you could damage the projector or yourself in the process. There is very high voltage present at the power supply and the crt's and you need to work very close to them when calibrating. Figure about $1500 to $1800 for install and ISF calibration. It has 7 Liquid cooled crts These are spec'd out to about 10,000 hours if you keep the contrast low. You need to check for crt burn in before you buy it. This can be done by shining a flash light in each crt and checking for a burn in logo or what ever. Also if the hours are high forget it crt replacement would be too expensive. Also, if you plan on hanging it from the ceiling you should box in your ceiling joyces for extra support and add a capture cable on the mount just in case it dislodges from the ceiling. You would not want this to hit you in the head. If you have good light control use a good external video processor and smaller screen. You can obtain a nice image with this projector. BUT IT MUST BE SET UP AND CALIBRATED CORRECTLY. There are two more things you need to keep in mind. First, figure the TD (Throw distance) and DD (Drop distance) for the size screen you plan on using to see if you room can accommodate this projectors TD and DD for the size screen you plan on using. Then, after the projector is installed in its level neutral position, the screen can be installed accordingly. Hope this helps
  17. Scott I E-Mail'd you but it bounced back check your PM Cheers Ray
  18. The absolute biggest bang for the buck by a wide margin is the Pioneer 643HD-5 available at various Costcos under $2000 Is 64 is wide screen has wonderful stretch modes and a beautiful picture there is absolutely nothing in its price range that is even remotely close in performance Cheers
  19. Hi Wildbean ? It was a pleasure having you out to our showroom Sorry that the Berkline Cinema Chairs have not yet arrived for demo The Show room is still not fully equipped hopefully we will have everything including the new Klipsch THX system we talked about in January I am glad to see you made it to the forum I strongly believe that the RB-75,RC-7,RS-7 and either 2- RW-12 subs or 1- RSW15 would be best in your room The open entertainment system you described would be perfect to sit 2 of the RB-75s in flanking your Big Screen at ear level If you go for the RF-7 you would have no room to put a subwoofer up front and would be forced to put it in a secondary location this is not optimal for multichannel or 2 channel listening also a quick room mode calculation showed that 2 -RW-12s would smooth out modes in your room and provide a smoother response than a single RSW-12 The RSW 15 has enough low end grunt to overcome the modes but is more costly than the 2-RW-12s. The RW-12s will give up some low end extension but are very good performers for the $$ I cant do much about the Tax issue you will have to write Arnold about that one but I can say we are an authorized Klipsch dealer and the internet site you showed me is not If you want to come back out when we get more RB-75s in stock just give me a call hope this helps
