  1. Had both side by side and I agree with all the others here. The Chorus II just walks away from a Cornwall. I don't like a speaker that loses control with a little horsepower and ole Duke Spinner said it best "the Cornwall becomes a rumble box". That is exactly what it did in my room. Crown K2 on the 15 inch woofer of a Chorus II is nothing less than a sledge hammer. Hi Stormin. I was surprised to see you were selling your Chorus IIs in light of how much you have expressed loving them. What are you going to next? I'll admit I don't need another set of speakers but you and other Chorus II owners feeling so strongly about them has me curious enough that if a pair comes up near by at a good price I'll probably buy them just to see what the fuss is about! Hey I never said I was selling my only pair of Chorus II's. I still stand by my words "they will have to pry them from my cold dead hands". Give them a try I think they are well worth it.

  3. Hes obvioulsy a gear head not an interior decorator.
  4. I would rotate the Chorus II's to the left wall which also helps with imaging because obviously there will be nothing in between the speakers to alter the image with the opening there. Also by moving your chair, loveseat or couch to the right wall it will help reinforce the bass which will even out the Chorus II dramatically due to its extremely flat response. The closer you move your seat to the right wall the punchier the bass will become. Just my 2 cents but give it a try. Congrats on a nice speaker!

  6. You can pretty much assume if your not paying its not legal. I imagine the program is perfectly legal to have and use but downloading copyrighted material from a peer to peer file sharing program is not going to be legal. I guess its all good until your service provider sends you a notice of warning but I wouldn't recommend it.
  7. Thats what I'm talking about. Congrats!
  8. IMHO you have a toasted crossovers in your Forte II's. Once upon a time back in 1996 when you could hear the 30's next to the Forte II's in the dealers showroom it didn't come accross that way. I and many many others felt we just took a step in the wrong direction but different strokes for different folks. But I am Chorus II fan so what do I know!
  9. My Chorii or able to stay smooth and clean at much more than moderate volumes. Actually I believe them to be one of the very best at high volumes. The tractix horn of the Chorus II, Forte II and Quartet family is what enables such a smooth response. I have enjoyed mine for over 20 years and if able will enjoy them another 20. The room has a huge impact on the sound with the tractrix horn and the rear passive in my opinion. Also like most Klipsch offerings you need to find the right equipment that works for you. Alot of electtronics out there and they all have a sound of their own. I prefer to stay away from forward and bright sounding gear with horns. I like the corner reinforcement for the bass for a more even audio presentation from top to bottom. I find putting alot of juice to the pro woofers used in this family wakes them up nicely. As Vital said its all very subjective and I was not disagreeing with the way he hears the speakers just that I hear them quite differently.
  10. LMAO. Yep we sure hear differently.
  11. Ouch, that doesn't sound very promising can you elaborate on that comment? Stormin, It was the opposite in Mike has a pair that he did a mod to so they are defiantly not original any more. Since I never heard the original Chorus II speaker before, this mod might have ruined it for me. They sounded great but the speaker that is in the works looks to be even better, now to just get those subs made to finially hear or feel the house move. James Oh I understand now. I took that the wrong way. It's good to hear that the mods are sounding good.
  12. Big gathering with 10-20 members and thats it? This is all we get? No more photos? No experiences with the different set ups? Please tell us theres more.

  14. Gotta love the Chorus II[Y] It's great to see so many share the same sentiments that I have had for over 20 years. Rock on!
  15. LOL! I'm still here guys. What an aweful start to the season. Peyton looked good and the offense wasn't to shabby but wow our defense got ran over. But those Texans have been getting better every year so no disgrace losing to them they are a legitimate team. Saints looked good out of the gates. Should be a good season of football.[Y]
  16. It appears that most who ever posted in this thread are long gone. Maybe we are all next.
  17. A great shoot out to see............or hear. Last night my buddy was over and the RF-7s blew us away! I just got Slash's new CD which is awesome btw! Everyone shoud pick this thing up, lot's of talent on this CD. He brought in different singers for every song and it's a nice mix of music. So we're switching back and forth and on song 3 with Fergie singing, the RF-7s just kicked us in the teeth. So I cranked it way up, like 5 on the HK "with the XPA-2 which is 300+ watts a channel" and the RF-7s were just BREATHING, I don't know if I've ever heard them sound this good. So we started the song over and switched to the Chorus lls and they werent even close. They started sounding shrill, the bass was sloppy, it just sounded like too much was going on. So that's another one for the RF-7s! The Chorus ll wins 85% of these shoot outs so it's pretty exciting when the RF-7 wins one. Have you ever switched the speakers as far as positioning and let the Chorus II use the corner as reinforcement? I much prefer my Chorus II's in a corner.
  18. Well if it was good enough for PWK it sure as a heck is good enough for me.[Y]
  19. Oh come on now. A CJ 5 or CJ 7 can't hold a candle to an FJ40 no matter what part of the world your standing on.
  20. O.K. Corral comes to mind.
  21. Good question. The draw and fire is unbelievable but whether he was the one actually popping the balloons is another story.
  22. I don't even think an uzi could save you from that guy. Step aside Doc Holiday.
