    Alison Krauss

Just watched Alison Krauss & Union Station Live. Whew! This stuff trandsends Blue Grass. I really don't care for Blue Grass but as I said this is a level beyond Blue Grass. The show was filmed in HDTV. It's DTS and sounds supurb. Double DVD set. Disc 2 Has a ton of extras with back stage individual interveiws with band members. A must for any music lover!
  2. Hope You Had A Very Fruitful Day! I'd love to see Bubba. He's certainly one of my faves. The first show I ever saw was Jimi Hendrix In !969. The tickets wetre $3.00 in advance and $4.00 at the door.
  3. There is quite enough space left. Probably enough for another 200 CDS and DVDs. At 50 I don't think I'll fill it up. It took me 16 years to build this much of a collection.
  4. Didn't mean to offend or annoy anyone. Just stating what I have found through personal uses of EQs. Certainly EQ is used in the creation of music but when used in reproduction they are changing the product that the artist intended. I believe in reproducing the music as intended. I had rather here the band as close "live" as possible in what ever enviroment that be. If you want to "color" the sound of your magnificent speakers that's your business.
  5. I hope this works. The shelves are 1X6 which is right for CDs and DVDs. The spacing is perfect. This should be enough storage to last the rest of my life.
  6. DO NOT,I repeat,DO NOT miss Norah Jones "Live In New Orleans". This is an audio and video must.
  7. In MHO EQs are nothing but toys. Klipsch speakers produce music as it is intended. If K-Horns sound terrible in a room,an inferior speaker would sound worse. EQs can run a person bonkers. A setting that sounds great with one piece sounds terrible with another. If one doesn't like what comes out of Klipsch speakers then he/she doen't like what goes in. There are numerous things to do with the room without coloring the sound of the music electronically. By-pass your EQ and listen for a week or so and discover just how great your system REALLY sounds!
  8. Just finished shelves for CDs and DVDs. Built out of 1x6 pine. They're 7' tall and 5'wide. The shelves are 8" have 8' spacing. Stained in Oak. I think I finally have enough storage space for this life time.
  9. tresspasser_guy The Roger Waters songs on "In The Flesh" are the originals. I watched "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" last night and couldn't help but wonder how Dave Gillmore and co. can tour and play all these "Waters" songs and call themselves Pink Floyd.
  10. Just bought a Toshiba 57H82. Anyone have one? Is there any quirks I should look far?
  11. 1. George W. Bush 2. WAR 3. Republicans 4. Bose 5. Religious Zealots 6. Unemployment 7. Conservative Talk Radio I'm sorry folks, just had to blow out the pipes. I'm laid off,My Dad's been diagnosed with Colon Cancer, My Dog is dead, My wife is in Baton Rouge, and my friend was killed in a car crash.
  12. Nora Jones is a breath of fresh air. It's refreshing to see that a young artist is pusuing real music. I am so tired of the "cookie cutter" alternative and hip-hop acts that have cluttered the popular music field. She is Ravi Shankar's daughter. He was the sitarist who taught George Harrison. While watching this superb concert,I noticed it had an Austin City Limits feel to it. Lo and behold Randy Ward is the producer. This is a must for anyone who wants good Blues!
  13. Bought "Fragile" yesterday. Words can't describe! YES! YES! YES!
  14. We party early up here so we don't interfere with Ya'll. Kind of nice too, longer to party. Come on up to Northwest Louisiana and party with us sometime. There four different ways discussed on how to say "Let The Good Times Roll" in French. How Do you Spell it?
  15. This is The Krewe Of Ardemis Parade. It's in Springhill,La. The Krewe Of Centaur and The Krewe of Geminii Parades are in Shreveport on March 1. I'll be on the corner of St. Charles and Poydreous(Spelling?) for Tucks,Endymeon, and Isis. My cousin lives in Mandeville and We will rock his Klipsch!
  16. Here's a Pic of The King's Float. The La Scala is under the blue tarp. There was a Krewe that had a float with four Heresys operating in Stereo. Right And left on each side. I had CD Yed into Mono.
  17. One of my La Scalas roced float. It rained like crazy.
  18. I don't use tone controls or EQ of any kind. Using them distorts the sound that the artist wanted.
  19. Glad to hear that you're doing better.
  20. Thanx! Never thought of filters. I've used the swabs at Rat Shack but never have them when I need Them.
  21. Charlotte Church is amazing. I like classical music, but don't really care for Opera. I do like Sopranos in low cut tight gowns though!
