  1. We are waiting for the forecasted 1 to 2 inches of rain to arrive mid week here, then go. ⛈️ Of course, knowing how it ends won't matter. Wb
  2. The story of Henry Ford II spending $25 million 1965 dollars (over $200,000,000 in 2019 dollars) to develop the Ford GT40 and humiliate Enzo Ferrari. Ferrari was previously willing to sell Ford all of Ferrari to Ford for $10,000,000. Of course, Carroll Shelby was heavily involved in development but could no longer race himself at that point. I think HF II was not a man to have as an enemy. Wb
  3. He should have hacked into the navigation system (easy) and replaced it with the accent he really wanted. A German woman threatening to send him to the Russian Front perhaps. "Turn left in precisely 500 metres or you will be Shot!" Wb

    Jokes?

Whatever the motive: Between Stalin (including his purges) and him, they managed to depopulate Europe by about 100 million people in ~15 years. Two whackos in power involving themselves in an all out racial and war to gain additional lands was not good. Wb
  5. Is it a Honda Factory Tire Pressure Monitor or? Wb
  6. I listen in about the same range. Until the door closes behind someone who operates like a walking, talking volume control and then I crank it up; if RnR. Wb
  7. Yet like Twinkies and cockroaches they'll probably still be around on a shelf somewhere until the world ends. Wb
  8. I'd look for a good tube amp with those efficient speakers. There are both commercial models available at that price (usually with Non-Western Made Tubes) as well as vintage and newer used integrated amps that contain used NOS era tubes. I have a few amps in each category and would start with a low wattage amp of 18WPC or less. I can easily drive my Belles with 1.5 WPC. Also get the neighbors complaining with 18 WPC amp turned up high. Wb
  9. From yesterday's day trip: Self explanatory. Mid 80's here. London Bridge ( Queen Victoria's version from 1831) is both not falling down but sitting in the desert at Lake Havasu. Wb
  10. The 90 day Free Trial is now just 30 days and they try to sell you immediately. I passed as the bait and switch. First link showed 90 days, second web page when you click on the first; 30 days. Either slovenly or bait and switch. I don't like either approach. Wb Wb
  11. I believe that California passed the Coastal Act to enshrine this in law. Some fool with more brains than money could challenge it but until that occurs successfully the State's Law should prevail. I've never been denied access to the few beaches I visit up north. Wb
  12. The boys at my youngest daughter's on Halloween. At least one of them is thinking 'kill me' before sending me to the door to greet kids in this getup. So he decided to hide and leave the niece (in the background) with that job. Most kid's at the door apparently enjoyed being licked. Wb
  13. Pay? Unless you need to pay to park on private lands. Are not all beaches and navigable waters in the USA access free? Wb
  14. Don’t forget to stop at Oberlin and pick up some baked goods at Gibson’s on your way out of Ohio. Wb
  15. What’s wrong the beaches in Oregon? They seemed pretty nice when we stayed near the coast there a few years back. Some small town near the Tilamook Dairy (Rockaway?). Got a nice free tour of the dairy too and free ice cream. Wb
  16. Over 8 percent sales tax here in AZ. No Provincial sales tax in Alberta but the Fed’s whack us with a five percent VAT. At least the weather is better in the south and liquor cheaper. Except at the Airport Duty Free here since ownership changed hands. No Antifa or Proud Boys nutz here that I’ve seen either. Wb
  17. Like Canada, you're probably taxed to death there. With the government controlling all the alcohol being brought into the state. 😉 Wb
  18. There's always Whisky: Scotch, Irish and Canadian Rye are all Whisky's. Whiskey's include Bourbon which is made mostly with corn I believe. HFCS also comes from corn. Wb
  19. Nothing a 12 gauge loaded with birdshot at the ready couldn't resolve. Assuming that they co-operate and leave city limits during hunting season (which is now in a lot of places). Best to back off several yards and give them 'fair warning' first though. Next stop, some cleaning, plucking and a big roast pan. Per Anthony Hopkins: Best served 'with a side of Fava Beans and a nice Chianti'. Wb

    Jokes?

I suspect, based on listening to both, that SHitler could probably sing and play instruments just as well as that band of clowns. Too bad he turned out to be a megalomaniac murdering people just because they were different than him. Wb
  21. Got some ten plus old to four years old in the basement fridge. Even better as it ages beyond the two years they can it at. Wb
  22. Small world. The kabobs pictured below are from lunch here today. We had the first batch here on Sunday so these were the leftovers. Originals on my Lodge made Japanese Hibachi and Mesquite Lump Charcoal. Reheated on the wife's electric BBQ in aluminum foil: Wb
  23. Best to get their aged white cheddar if you ever try their Cheddar Cheese. I can’t abide orange dye in cheese but it seems quite common in North America. The aged white cheddar that WSU sells is even better. It comes vacuum packed in a can that requires an opener. The can being a holdover from WWII, also let’s you age it for decades as long as you keep the can unopened during that time. Wb
  24. Apparently, someone else was filling it in more fully. Wb
  25. I’d name them: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wb
