Very nice Mookie How do they sound with all 1200 of those watts of yours?
  7. Perhaps there is someone out there, someone on the fence with my La Scala's for sale. $1800 is a lot of money. OPTION So I was thinking (I know, stop that). How can I make these more affordable to a fellow forum member? Here is what I came up with - I keep my cane grills. This puts me in a position to be a little ahead of the game for my next restoration. - Included with sale will be a full set of grill frames, ready for the material of your choice (yes, you will have to work a little bit). - Included with sale will be a set of Klipsch copper badges for the top hat grills. - Also included will be any technical assistance I can provide to help get your new grills just the way you want them, perfect. - This option price, $1450 *note* The black grill stops inside the folded horn are very simply adhered with double sided tape. There are NO tool marks or nail holes of any sorts. With my RF-7's arriving soon, just thinking of options. Matt ♪ ♫ ♪
  8. Agreed, too high. They do look nice. Badges are in the wrong place on the grill. Crossovers could likely use a refresh. IMO, $1200 would be a more reasonable price given the cabinets look as good in person as they do in the photo. Matt ♪ ♫ ♪

  10. In my research for a vintage SS amplifier, I came across one of these and thought it may be a good thing to have around. I wonder if these disrupt the true performance of the amp itself? Would it distort the amplifiers qualities (for lack of a better term)? I won't run an equalizer because, to me, it just introduces more "noise" (again, lack of better). It is my suspicion this unit would do the same. Anyone have some experience with this unit? Good/Bad? Thanks, Matt ♪ ♫ ♪
  11. Hi "Loneshark" To my eyes, the "white" you are describing is the natural wood veneer with the varnish/lacquer removed. The other darker areas, keep on sanding. Be VERY careful though, you do not want to sand all the way through the veneer. Take your time and don't use a super course grit. I think you would be safe with 150 and some patience. I always use an orbital, applying little to no pressure. Let the machine do the work. Matt ♪ ♫ ♪

  13. main-outs, pre-outs... 6 or 1/2 dozen I suppose? Looking for an SS pre - "cincymat" is sending me his Nakamichi to play with. A little excited about that Ultimately, after I get the RF-7's home, am going to want a big boy amplifier so I figured I'd start with the more affordable pre-amp. 15. whew - yes, Finally! Could not have come at a better time. Took a hit though, $2600, 1/2 of what I paid for them. All good, I am happy. Very nice fella who bought them too, that always makes the sting a bit less painful. Moving forward... Who wants to buy some kick arse La Scala's? Gotta make room for the incoming 7's Thank you all for not getting to fed up with me selling my gear (or at least keeping it quiet) I think the Scala's will move in no time at all.
