I think many have found that Yamaha, while comparable to the Denon, are too bright. You might also consider Harmon Kardon or Outlaw.

I like mine, but I can't give you a comparison between any other headphones since I've never heard another pair. I bought these on reviews alone and am happy with my purchase.

I had the same problem. My receiver wasn't receiving the digital signal from my optical cable, even though it had light coming throught he other end (Nice and technical eh? ) Turns out the optical cable was bad. If you bump them even slightly they can go bad, which is what I must've done moving the receiver around. Tried the Xbox optical cable and it was fine. Decided I'd go back to coax cables. No more optical for me.

If you can get the Marantz at a discount, I wouldn't see any reason to get any other receiver. Several people on here use Marantz and say they sound pretty good.

http://signalcable.com This guy has been getting rave reviews for his cables on Audiogon. High quality and not too expensive. Might be worth a look.

I'd move those KG-2's to the rear and get maybe some KG-4's for the front and a KV-3 for the center. Get a KSW-12 instead of the 10 and finding a receiver with just 5.1 and DTS is easy nowadays. I think you can get all of it for under $1k with some bargain hunting. Only problem is that Circuit City, Best Buy and Crutchfield don't sell Klipsch, and the Classic line (which you have) isn't made anymore (unless I'm mistaken), so you'll have to stick to eBay, audiogon, etc...
