  1. I know, but I don't want to give away the secret.
  2. KG-1, 1.2, or 1.5 would work for rears, but of course another pair of KG-4 would be best
  3. 22 watts is more than enough. The H/K in my sig is 30 or 35 W/channel and it is plenty loud enough. I can only hit 12 o'clock before I have to leave the room.
  4. It's funny, I came in this forum just to ask if there was going to be an EE and you already have the answer. Sweet. I'll be waiting patiently for November also. Thanks for the info!
  5. Multichannel setup using KV-4's? Interesting. I would've never guessed.
  6. Well, Klipsch doesn't make the passive radiators anymore, and the woofers are $80 each to replace (ask me how I know). Basically, replacing components on these speakers is not cheap.
  7. You should make a new post, since most people will just skip over this one. Also, do you mind if I ask what you're doing with all these centers?
  8. The KV-3 is a better match.
  9. My KG-4's are 6 ohms also. Haven't had any problems in 3+ years.
  10. Yeah, I have spade connectors, but they're too large and overlap when connected. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004Y2VP/qid=1050881807/br=1-2/ref=br_lf_e_2//103-6279193-5262210?v=glance&s=electronics&n=517492 ^I have those cables. The master pins are soldered to the wire, so only the "Monster Lock" connectors will attach to it (typical Monster BS). http://www.wildwestelectronics.net/monlocmedans.html These might work. The cables came with the speakers, so I'm not sure what size spades they are. http://www.wildwestelectronics.net/moncabmlfphm.html I've got these, but I can't bend the ends around the terminal. Hmm, I might just have to try the medium spades.

  12. My Denon was refurbished when I got it. Been running great for over 3 years now. I think refurbed units are the some of the best buys. Cheaper and they've already had what's wrong with them fixed.
  13. As much as I like the Outlaw (We have one), a 2802 for $399 new is a good price, plus it has Dolby Pro-Logic 2 and DTS-ES, which the Outlaw doesn't. Go with the Denon.
  14. Weird, I must've got a different model year or the previous owner must have changed the connectors on the stereo. I got these little knobs that screw in and out. No where to put banana connectors into. Edit: Doh, just saw you have a 430. They must be different on the back.
  15. I would just like to know what kind of wire you guys have hooked up to your H/K's? I had to take out my Monster Z series and replace it with cheapo 16 gauge lamp cord. Is there some special way of wiring these things that I'm not aware of? I got a crink in my back for a good 5 minutes trying to hook up my speakers, lol. Talk about a PITA.
  16. Whatever sounds best to you. There is no "right" setting. I set my mains to large and my center and surrounds to small.

(yay.not.) they stay up until 2 sometimes for hw and studying. ---------------- I hear that. Both of my brothers and most of my roommates through college were engineering majors. A lot of work involved. I stuck with biology and chemistry. Not much easier as it turned out, but I survived.

So, I am ready. ---------------- What University and what majors? I never had ANY high school curriculum come close to the difficulty of any of my college courses.
  19. I've noticed they have UE up in the Quad cities (Moline, Davenport) too, yet none in Kansas City! Pretty cool stores. We do have Brandsmart though. Just not nearly as big as UE.
  20. It's only high school. Wait until college. That'll be an eye opener!
  21. See the "PARADIGM VS KLIPSCH" thread in the 2-Channel section.

Did you perform any of the modifications that you frequently see suggested on the web? ---------------- I haven't read much on the web about it. Maybe I should, it's quite boomy. (Might also be the location I have it in, but it's the only spot left in the room, LOL) I did stuff some pollyfill in it and removed the polyfill from the ports.

I would be interested in hearing everyones ideas on what they would use for the rear surround paired up with the KG4s. Thanks ---------------- KG-1, 1.2, or 1.5 Ideally, another pair of KG-4's, but most people don't have that kind of room.
  24. We have both in my house. Phantoms, Atoms, a CC-170 center and a PS-1200 are in the living room ran by an Outlaw 1050. Very detailed, but they lack the slam of Klipsch which I've grown accustomed to. 2 very different sounds. If you like the way they sound over the Klipsch, I would recommend you get them.
  25. With a Porsche you can get all the hummers you want.
