  1. If you've got the real deal (Khorn, Belle, Scala) everything else is very tuff to listen to. Fully Horn Loaded makes a huge difference. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 02-18-2002 at 12:52 AM
  2. Mark Knopfler!! Dire Straits was made for Klipsch killer with Scala's ------------------ http://cgi.audioasylum.com/systems/2244.html
  3. My Kenmore is much better than a Whirlpool. Not as harsh. Early Whirlpools respond well to dampening (the cabinets resonate badly in the spin cycle), but still are no match for Kenmore's of any vintage. Whirlpool Dryers are OK when tweaked eith an ALK selector switch. ------------------ http://cgi.audioasylum.com/systems/2244.html
  4. Don't forget the Ford Pinto. Probably the best car ever made. Ford sold millions. ------------------ http://cgi.audioasylum.com/systems/2244.html

  6. They probably have never really listened to them. I don't like Polk, but I've never heard them. Everyone who listens to my Klipsch wants some. ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/electronic2/mpgwagon/MYSTUFF.JPG This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 02-02-2002 at 06:59 PM
  7. moit I still cannot see purchasing a 20-year-old speaker verse new ones. Believe me, I am not questioning the sound and/or quality of a Cornwall. If I had the money in college I would have purchased them instead of the KG4's. I still cannot see spending $800 to $1,000 on a pair of 20-year-old speakers. What about natures natural wear and tear? What does it cost to replace the Cornwall's woofer?? The question to ask is: Why are people spending this much? There must be a reason. The 20 year old woofer in most cases won't need replacement. I have not heard of any needing replacement other than for damage from abuse. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/mpgwagon/bigolhorn.html
  8. Isn't this fun!! I would think the only problems with MDF would be moisture and it's tendncy to break much easier than plywood. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/mpgwagon/bigolhorn.html
  9. deang: You are only fooling yourself. When/If Heritage return to the Klipsch lineup, they will be, as they always have been "Top Dog". RF's are awesome, Heritage take it to the next level. I have Synergy's, KG's, RF's and Heritage all right here. My Scala's win every time. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/mpgwagon/bigolhorn.html

  12. I just can't get into the rice burners. The Charger showed possibilities but the giant wheelie ruined it for me ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. Klipsch SC1 Center Klipsch KG 3.5 rears Panasonic RV31 DVD Sharp 32" TV
  13. Scala's can play louder than you can stand. They'll make your ears bleed and you'll like it. I don't know about your B&K. I don't feel any need to mess crossover tweaking I trust Paul Klipsch to do it right. Here's a link with S/N dates. http://www.klipsch.com/ubb/uploads/Matt+Whatley/HOME_SN_FORMAT.doc ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 14. I've had my Scala's for a short time, I also have newer Klipsch stuff, so I'm not an "Old Horny". I had to find out what the Big Ol Horn stuff was all about so I bought the Scala's. Nothing being built today is even close to the Heritage line, in any respect. (IMHO) I used to think like deang, until I brought home my Scala's. Don't get me wrong new Klipsch speakers are great,but.... they don't compare to the big-ol-horns. I wouldn't trade my Scala's for a room full of RF's. http://www.geocities.com/mpgwagon/bigolhorn.html ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 16. What do you guy's think of these. I'm thinking about using them as rears with my Scala's in front, good idea??. What finish are they? The Serial number shows they are 76's not 72's. I live 20 miles from Portland so I can pick em' up. Something just doesn't look right about them, maybe it's the pics. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1321243684 ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 17. Since nothing is available from Klipsch new that compares with the Heritage line I expect to see prices keep rising. I feel really good bout' my $650.00 pair of Scala's!! Did you see the midrange horns from Scala's sell for over $400.00 on ebay?? Are we in danger of people parting out old Heritage speakers since the parts may be worth more than the whole? ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 18. Hmmm. I wouldn't say Khorns look better than Scala's. Finished Scala's show some very nice wood grain and more of it then the Khorn. I also like being able to see the bass horn, nothing else looks like em'IMO. ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 19. Hmmm. I tried most brands of receivers at home with my Scala's. I kept the Yamaha RXV-620 because it is the most natural sounding receiver. Others were too harsh sounding with my Klipsch. Even my wife noticed how good the Yamaha sounds. ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 20. I brought home most brands of receivers in the $500.00 range (you name it, I tried it)and kept a Yamaha RX-V620. Yamaha's were very low on my list and the last receiver I tried. I Feel it has the smoothest sound with my Scala's. It's got tons of features for the price. The remote is a little strange at first but once I figured it out I actually like it. Give it a try. ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. Klipsch SC1 Center Klipsch KG 3.5 rears Panasonic RV31 DVD Sharp 32" TV
  21. Just wondering how many of your family/friends also own Klipsch? We are a Klipsch family! Here's my list: Oldest son: SF2's, SF1's, KSW12, SC1 Middle son: SF1's Youngest son: KG 3.5's ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 22. I forgot one thing: My Scala's don't get knocked over when my dog bumps into them I hate the fact that my SF1's and KG's get knocked over so easily. ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub. 23. IMO most Klipsch speakers sound great. Even my SF1's blow my socks off. But,spend some time listening to a pair of speakers from the Heritage line then you'll understand. I also think the prices of the used Heritage speakers are low for what you get. ------------------ Yamaha RX-V620 receiver 1976 Klipsch La Scala's Klipsch KSW12 Sub.
