  1. It looks like a little bit of damage but the grills will cover that as long as they still sound okay.
  2. No particular order. Forest Gump, LOTR (all 3), Transformers (all 3), Titanic, Training Day, Avatar, Murder in the First, The Wizard of Oz, Finding Nemo, Dumb and Dumber, Super Troopers, War of the Worlds, Matrix, King Kong, Star Wars (all 6). Man, that was a lot harder than I thought. I'm sure I'll have to edit a few of these later.
  3. I can't remember where I read it at but the reasoning was for perfect acoustics for a 7.1 set up. Something about those exact ratios made the sound waves travel in a way that it produced an extremely large sweet spot with little sound reflections.
  4. That's by far the best deal I've seen on a PB-13 Ultra.
  5. My wife says the size of mine is way too big...of course she's talking about my RF-7iis.
  6. I once read that the perfect ratio for a home theater room is 1 x 1.6 x 2.6 (HxWxL). Example... 16' x 26' room with 10' ceiling.
  7. Here are the cigars we use.
  8. It would be worth that just for the badge.
  9. I couldn't begin to tell you what it is worth but WOW that is cool. Do you know what the dimensions are? It's kinda hard to tell the size from the photo.
  10. The sound was okay, nothing great. The way it was filmed was really cool, especially for 3D. The acrobatics was absolutely insane. I have no idea how people can get so good at that stuff.
  11. This was a blast to watch on the new projector. Not quite as good as any of the Lord of the Rings movies though IMHO.
  12. Thanks for all the replies guys. I already have an HDMI splitter after the UMC-1 sending a signal to the TV and projector, not sure if I want to add another one. Hopefully I will be getting an Oppo 103 soon which will fix my problem and give me better pq too. I hate using the PS3 since my LG blu ray player looks so much better. I think I will get the Oppo first then get the Emo UMC-200 later.
  13. I just got my new 6010 today!!! I knew it was coming today so I pretty much stared at the front door all day waiting for FedEx to knock. It finally showed up at 5:30, I think this was the longest day of my life. The mount that comes with this thing is awesome but it doesn't come with anything to secure it to the ceiling so I had to run to Walmart for some toggle bolts. The way this mount works is you get it mounted and pointed toward the screen and then there are three screws that you turn left or right and it lines the projector up perfectly. My last mount you had to grab the projector and manually twist, tilt, and turn it to get it lined up. The picture on the 6010 is the best that I have seen on any projector. The black levels and contrast are light years better than the 8350, not to mention how bright it is. The first thing I put on was Monsters Inc. on blu ray. I have to say on blu ray this looks every bit as good as my 55" LG LED TV. My blu ray player is not 3D and I cannot pass 3D through my UMC-1 so I had to hook the HDMI cable directly to my fatboy PS3. Believe it or not, the 3D image was even crisper than the 2D. The depth is insanely crazy. I skipped through scenes from Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, and Puss N Boots. There were times that Nemo looked like he was swimming about two feet in front of my face. The best thing that I have seen so far was on a preview of Madagascar 3 when they were having a pillow fight and the pillow exploded sending feathers everywhere. It was like there were feathers floating all over my living room. My kids were swatting there hands trying to catch them. The only thing that sucked was that I couldn't find any of my optic cables to run the sound from the PS3 to the UMC-1, I will have to find one tomorrow (hopefully I didn't give them all away). Now I am dying to get an Oppo BDP-103 and a UMC-200 so I don't have to switch HDMI cables back and forth. Not to mention my blu ray player and PS3 are on there last leg. Ahh the never ending quest for the perfect set up. For anyone that hasn't tried 3D yet or has only seen it on a TV, you owe it to yourself to demo a 3D projector. I know it is not for everyone but I absolutely love it. The depth and effects that it produces are way better than 3D in the theaters.
  14. We'll let it slide this time. Looks like the UMC-1 is doing well on ebay by the way.
  15. If it is a passive radiator it wouldn't have a voice coil so something else has to be making the sound.
  16. Budman might be on to something, for $550 that's one heck of a receiver.
  17. I would consider going with separates instead of a receiver. You can buy an Emotiva UMC-200 right now on sale for $599 and a UPA-500 for $399. IMO you would have better sound quality than any receiver you can find for $1000. You would have to find a receiver "rated at 125 watts" or more to match the power of the UPA-500s true 80 watts per channel which is more than enough to push your reference speakers.
  18. Welcome to the forum Zappafan! A few years ago I used a pair of synergy F-3s for my front left and right speakers and used a quintet system for my center, side surrounds and back surrounds and the Quintets were horribly overpowered. So much so that I bought new speakers the next week and sold the quintets. Your heresies should be even more sensitive than my F-3s were so I would say yes they will overpower the Quintets. Also the two different speaker lines will have two totally different sounds and will not blend well together. If it were me I would use the heresies for 2 channel music, and just use the Quintets for surround.
  19. I don't think you have to worry about them being overpowered by the 81s.
  20. You are more than welcome and good luck raising more money.
  21. Happy to help out again this year John!
  22. I know I will be happy with it, I am just wondering how much of an improvement it will be over the 8350. According to the specs it should blow it out of the water, and I thought it had a great picture.
