  1. Hey gang, I too just bought the A200x3 from Ubid and will be getting it in about a week. I'm currently plugging all my equipment into my HTS-3500. This includes the cable line out of the wall, which I then run from the 3500 to my receiver. Will I have the same problems when I install the amp? Also, what is a cheater plug? 2. Ray, On the "Odds and Mods" board. BTW, he has a great setup... Mike
  3. I just ordered an A200x3 and it should be here in a week or so. Can someone pleas explain what a cheater plug is? 4. Wes, Thanks alot...it is relaxing. But after seeing your getup, I would trade you in a heartbeat! Mike
  5. Wes, Very nice setup...I'm jealous with envy! I agree about the leather couches as well. I have the same setup as you regarding the seating...plus 4 recliners in the couch and loveseat. Mike
  6. Ed, Welcome to the Klipsch Forum. This place is a great resource for this wonderful hobby of ours. I think you will find there are some very knowledgable people here who share the same passion as you. I don't have the big horns but there are many here who do. Don't be afraid to ask some questions...you will always get an answer... 7. Thanks, James! The previous owner of the house built those wall units...they are solid oak. He said the wood alone cost over $1000 (there is some nice crown molding around the tops and bottoms) and it took him 11 weeks to build them (evenings and weekends). Their new house only had 8' ceilings (mine are 10') and they wouldn't fit. I paid him $500 for them and feel very fortunate. We love them... Mike
  8. wired1, This will be my last post on this subject. Do you think that by saying the KLF-30 "sounds TERRIBLE" does not offend every person that worked hard and spent a lot of money to buy it? Think about it for a second. Sounds like a double-edged sword to me. BTW, I don't appreciate you calling me an idiot and I will be reporting you to the moderators. You add nothing to this Forum by making derogatory comments towards other members and name calling. This is a civilized Forum. There are other Forums out there that allow this kind of crap! This is not one of them... Mike
  9. Keith - Would like to see some pictures of your setup. I would have to think that 4 KSP-300's must really kick A$$! I did do a minor A/B comparison when I first got them. I really like my Epics but the Chorus' just sounded a little better. The bass was fuller and had more depth (especially with music). I also like the fact that it had a mid-horn and a tweeter-horn. I think the crossover is around 600hz on the Chorus' and the mids just seemed to jump right out at me (the epics have one horn at 2200hz). If you heard them, I think you would really like them... t-man - Thanks for the kind words. I originally had the equipment above the center and it just didn't look right. If you notice, I have angled the center down towards the listening position. I think we are far enough back so that you can't tell the difference. As for the RS-3's, I plan on moving them down about 18 inches and a little closer together. I also plan on getting another pair and will set them on the CF-2's facing one another. I agree about checking out other member's systems. I'm going to be going over to Cornwalled's (Jon) house sometime in the near future to hear his setup... Mike
  10. Jon, Look forward to hearing from you... Mike
  11. Colin, I have the DBX plugged into "Tape-2 Mon" on the 4800. I generally only use it when listening to vinyl. Most turntables only have about 60-65 db capability and they can generally use some expansion. Not sure what you mean by DBX albums, but I have some half-speed masters (CBS, I think) and some MFSL (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab) discs as well. Do stop by next time you're in town... Mike
  12. wired1, OK...lets reverse the tables. Here's something you said just last week and I quote: quote: I personally think that the whole KLF line sounds "tinny". I tried them out at a local dealer with different amps, CD players and receivers and thought they sounded TERRIBLE! They are WAY to "tinny" and not enough deep end. The only Klipsch line I would ever consider buying is either the HEritage line or the Promedias - they rock! By saying this you have completely crapped on every person who bought a Legend speaker. Except I didn't see anybody criticize you for saying it. Why? Because it was YOUR opinion! Nothing more and nothing less. It wasn't personal and nor was his statement to you. BTW, there's really no need to swear on this Forum either... Mike quote: Originally posted by wired1: Mike, I could care less. 13. I gotta agree with Ray on this one. I have had my RP91 for about a month now and I love it. The other feature it has is DVD-Audio if you're into the 5.1 music scene at all. It's going for $481 delivered from www.ecost.com . 14. Hey wired1, lighen up! When Colin made that post, it wasn't to insult you or put you down. This was only his opinion and it was based upon his own experiences. Nothing more or nothing less. He never called you any names and didn't have a bad attitude when he made his post (unlike you). And as JJT mentioned earlier, he has made a number of contributions to this board and is well liked by it's members. Responses like this are going to make people think before taking you seriously... Mike
  15. I gotta agree with you Keith. There's some serious $hit going on out there and we're arguing about speaker wire. We should all just lighten up a bit and thank God that we have this board and it's many wonderful members to share ideas, opinions, laughs and sometimes, disagreements... God Bless America! Mike
  16. Foost, I don't think you can do that. The S700 manual says that "Bridged" mode is to be used ONLY when the S700 is connected to an 8 ohm speaker load. Use of Bridged mode with speaker loads of 4 ohms or less can result in severe damage to the unit due to excessive heat and current limiting and will void your warranty! I believe the SVS subs are 4 ohm speakers. I too am only using one 20-39CS but that's all I could afford at the time. When the time comes, I will order the second sub... Mike
  17. This thread is starting to get interesting. Let's see...who's gonna throw the next punch? We got Discorules going at it with Foresthump and P-B. DJK and JW exchanging a few barbs. TB taking on TTK and P-B. I can hardly wait for the next post! Just so I'm not padding my post count, I would like to say I'm somewhere in the middle of this debate. I've got some decent interconnects because I actually want to believe they make a difference, but don't have any proof to prove otherwise. Mike
  18. True on all accounts, Ray (except for the dog...we have a small white Bichon to go with the room). I just live with my sister and my girlfriend. I told Angie (sister) when I bought the place, you can do whatever you want with every room in the house except this one. This one's mine! Mike
  19. Thanks guys! I'm gonna go talk to 'em right now and tell them how much I love them! Keith, I may take you up on that... Mike
  20. Jon, I see we live right down the road from one another (I'm in Oviedo). I just picked up a set of Chorus' (Cornwall's little brother) last weekend and can't get enough of them. I would really like to hear your setup one day. Give me a call at 407-359-9965 if you wanna get together... 21. eq, It's big but sounds great! You can get them on Ubid now for $229 (last auction) plus s/h. Unbelievable price! If you have the room (27" wide x 9.25" deep), I wouldn't hesitate... Mike
  22. Good one, Doug! Actually, that is true. It says the Chorus' are 89 lbs, compared to the CF-2's that weigh in at 80 lbs each. But that 9 pounds feels like 50! I can pickup a CF-2 by myself but can't pick up the Chorus. I must be getting old...
  23. Dave - Thanks for the kudos! Tom - Of course I remember you! I thought you wouldn't mind if I put my Heineken on your Cornwall, remember? Actually, having a chance to listen to your Cornwalls was one of the main reasons for my persuing the Chorus' (along with Doug Drake's recommendation). I knew I couldn't fit the Cornwalls in the room, so I opted for the next best thing (their little brother). I agree with the RS-3 statement if you mean their placement. They are just too high on the wall. When I get the 2nd pair, I will see about lowering them and moving them a little closer together (they will then be the back surrounds). The new pair will reside on the CF-2's for side surrounds. It would be nice if I could make a makeshift stand to get them another foot up in the air without looking like crap. My sister is already ticked with me because of what I've done to the room. BTW, can't wait to hear the new amp... Mike
  24. Here is a couple of pics of my new setup with my new Chorus mains (which I love, btw). I moved my CF-2's to the rear for DTS and DVD-Audio (will probably replace with some Forte's) and will be purchasing another set of RS-3's for 6.1 movies. I think the only place I can put them is on the CF-2's, facing one another. In order to power the new speakers, I just bought an Acurus A200x3 amp from Ubid (auction ended about 4 hours ago). The amp will power the front soundstage. The pictures aren't the best and I probably should have had more light in the room, but it's all I have for now...
