  1. You Don't Mess With The Zohan. Confusingly, it looks like there's SF-1s perched on something that looks like LaScala bass bins?
  2. I hope You like the sound of MA6400, i am eyeing MA6600 myself. Please let us know Your findings o/
  3. Q: $500-$700 range. What do I get for the money? A: Looks. It would be interesting to see statistics of how many power conditioners 'sacrificed' themselves and saved plugged in equipment from lightning jolt. For the rest of 'power issues' Your amplifiers/sources etc are well portected internally.
  4. Generally, most people will first want to get best front main speakers they can. With Your center speaker it's a no brainer imo.
  5. Congrats on Your purchase. Manual only mentions one crossover point so You might want to geti it looked at.
  6. That veneer looks nice. You're working much quicker than i would have. Should sound awesome with new crossovers and tweeeters.
  7. Tthey do not like listening to sound reflections from behind caused by horn directivity. Oh wait...
  8. I have a pair of Quad II, they old 14wpc and sound lovely on Forte IIs. I do believe i miss some bass due to low power, but otherwise they are pleasing.
  9. I can confirm Emotiva's room correction is inferior to Audissey, but i like or use neither, never happy with results. Manual setup for me. If 100% movies, You could go with best Onkyo or similar pre/pro You can afford for relatively trouble free playback. I am sure that UMC-1 features i like (like any channel trim on the fly, cute OSD etc) can be found elsewhere too.
  10. Majority of quirks of UMC-1 have been fixed via firmware updates. To me, UMC-1 sounds better as preamp and is more versatile as processor compared to older Onkyo i had. Had to tape up the massive blue lighton the power button though...

    Good Deal?

I listened to a pair of KG-4.5 as mains in combination with KV-3. Although they have different tweeters and horns, they sounded pretty well together, sensitivity is very similar at about 95. Cannot comment on sub, but I think You've got a lot of speaker for Your monies.
  12. CanYou get sand cheaper though
  13. ...x 5 good build, short RCA cables into amp [Y] sorry if i am mr Obvious here
  14. Have You checked for serial numbers? As another member mentioned, they should be punched into wood at the top-back.
  15. Heh, i was oggling those Belles myself. Enjoy restoring them and i am sure You will also enjoy them singing.
  16. This passes as 'Metal' these days? Oh wow

    Miyavi

    Is this man or woman
  18. Hm, i was not aware of those measurements, thanks. Makes one wonder if they were taken with proper sub placement, they vary considerably from the charts on THT website.
