  1. Congrats on the new speaker! I grabbed a RC-62, RF-62 and RB-61 combo new a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Congrats again!
  2. The resident bass lunatic makes his triumphant return! We need pics of the subwoofer wall and your new Palladiums ASAP...
  3. That is a complex box design but it looks great. I really wish I would have paid more attention in wood shop. Now I am at the mercy of craftsmen like yourself when I need something built. Looks great man!
  4. I think PSA just recently upgraded their drivers. The newest versions are a little more money but it should be money well invested. I was never impressed with the first gen PSA drivers and obviously they weren't either.
  5. I am just saying Tim might be able to make money trying out the Sunfires. I have even read a couple of reviews comparing the HRS-12's with the F113's.... Might be a fun PAID experiment:) I do still have the Rythmik but it's in storage until I move in roughly 6 months. You guys are slowly talking me into going down the DIY path.. I will probably have a cabinet builder build the cabinets so it's now really a DIY anyway but it sounds like a fun journey. Sorry for being so difficult guys.
  6. Room frequency response is generally greatly improved with more than one sub. I am not saying that the little sunfires will dig as deep as the SVS but they might sound better in the room. The dual Martin Logan Abyss subs that I had were one of my favorite combos out of all of the subwoofer systems I have tried over the last 7 years. My point was that he would have nothing to lose by trying the Sunfires, especially at 1/4 their MSRP, probably could even make money off them if he wasn't happy with their performance. Don't mind me, I like to play the devil's advocate more than I probably should:)
  7. Not much respect around here for poor Sunfire.. I have owned a 10" sunfire subwoofer (not exactly sure of the model) and a SVS PB Ultra. The sunfire sub was a little monster, it didn't have as deep extension as the Ultra but it sounded fantastic. I bet two 12" HRS subs would have great frequency response and dig very deep. I would say buy the sunfire subs (depending on the deal) and give them a shot. If you don't like them, sell them on Craigslist for what you paid and buy the SVS.
  8. I know space is an issue but the way you have everything set up, leaves a lot to be desired. First off, the DLP needs to be much lower than that (I have owned 6 different top of the line large Mitsubishi DLP's)' the center of the screen should be level with your sitting position. The RF-7's also need to be sitting on the floor, farther apart and toed in towards the listening position. It looks like the lamp and the sub can be moved, depending on WAF. The center is the reason for this thread but I really don't know why it sounds muffled. If you get a lower stand to optimize the DLP, you can place the RC-64 above the TV with it angled down to the main listening position. I moved my RC-62 II above the TV and it dramatically improved the sound. With all that said, I am not nearly as knowledgable as most of the members here so I hope they will chime in with their suggestions.
  9. I almost did 3 RC-64's across the front in a horizontal fashion. I then found the speakers that I was waiting for at a steal so I jumped. I bet three RC-62's would sound great across the front.
  10. I sold a 818 recently. I had to have it replaced by Onkyo because of the HDMI board. I really liked the receiver before it went out but I will never buy another Onkyo receiver again. Not when there's products like HK, Emotiva and Pioneer Elite out there. Like I said, I loved the receiver before it went out but I have now lost faith in the brand.

    SW-311 Sale

Probably right, I just have no skills besides my bowstaff skills. I could probably screw together a subwoofer cabinet but that's about it. I'll take a look at parts express. Thanks for talking me down off the ledge guys!

    SW-311 Sale

I have a Rythmik FV15HP (currently in storage) and have owned many other ID subs like SVS Ultra. I really wouldn't expect the little Klipsch to hold a candle to those beasts, I just have a hard time passing on such a crazy deal. Might be a fun little sub to mess with until I move in 6 months or so. I am also considering the reaction audio turbo subwoofer at $499. I don't know what it is, I just love opening and testing new subwoofers, more so than any other HT items. Here is the link Beeker: http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-SW-311-Black-10-inch-Subwoofer/dp/B0046L8QHS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398312271&sr=8-1&keywords=Klipsch+SW-311

    SW-311 Sale

That's strange. Tried searching before making this thread and searched again after your recommendation and still got nothing. I will try searching again when I am not on my iPad. Thanks man.

    SW-311 Sale

Hi guys, I will just be honest, I am addicted to purchasing home theater subwoofers. I just happened to see that the Klipsch SW-311 is currently on sale for $499 with free shipping on Amazon... MSRP is $1,599! I did try searching for "SW-311" but no results were found. Any experience with this little Klipsch sub? I don't expect it to compete with my FV15HP but it might be nice to pick a couple of these little guys while the Rythmik is in storage (moving in 6 months or so). What do you guys think?
  15. One day when I grow up.... Beautiful room my friend!
  16. Now that is a great first leap into HT. Congrats and welcome to the group! I am not sure if people recommend this or not but I used a light suction vacuum to remove a dimple in another brand's dust cap. It might work for your RF-7's but I would want a more knowledgable person here to confirm before you try it.
  17. Thank you very much for this review. I will be ordering a 8100 very soon, have been looking at it for a while.

    What A Day

"He is scared" haha! I hope this completes your subwoofer journey. Those things look like absolute monsters!
  19. Tron is one of my favorite movies to demo. The visual effects and especially the LFE are second to none. Can't wait for the second new version and what daft punk will put together this round. Also like Dave and Tim at radio city music hall. I find myself listening to that while I am doing the chores. Adele 21 is also pretty amazing.
  20. I finally got a chance to set the speakers up today. I think it turned out pretty good considering I am using 2 $15 Ikea end tables as a temporary stand.. I spent 4 miserable hours today in furniture stores trying to find a stand that would fit the RC-62 II and I struck out. Very annoying. I had to improvise but I like the center above the TV, now my stand options have opened up dramatically.
  21. Those are just little red and black caps. A sharp object and they pop right out.
  22. My vote goes to the SC-79 since reference volume was the first requirement you mentioned. I have not heard the Yamaha though and I have always wanted to try their Advantage line.
  23. My pioneer SC-25 drove my RF-63's to insane levels just like my Emotiva XPA-3 did. In fact, I sold the XPA-3 ( I really wanted separates) because I couldn't talk myself into keeping the XPA-3, didn't hear a upgrade in sound to justify the price. I believe I have talked myself into the Fusion 8100 I just need it to go on sale and it will be mine.
  24. I just went and checked. I bought mine yesterday and I don't see that sticker anywhere.
  25. Congratulations on the new gear! Let me know how you like the Denon X4000. I am debating between receiver and the Emotiva Fusion 8100. I am in for some pictures once you get it all set up...
