the k76 is not as powerful as the k75 or k79 as the k76 has a much smaller magnet - I would not use a k76 in a forte 1 or 2 -you will either blow it or it will not sound as good when pushed - -
they are real cheap in my area - unless they in mint condition -

I would bet that if you could repair these cabinets and put them in a decent shape - the 1100$ or more is possible - the extra effort might be worth the elbow grease of 20 or so hours of work -otherwise they are just an old beat up scala - and there a lot of these around -

a Patrician IV means that the speaker has an 18 inch woofer - the 18wk - has the OP decided on a more reasonable asking price - it was 5k to 30k -this is a garage sale and one of us will buy it if the price is right -

hook up the sub in a passive mode - using an external amp - you want to put a 12 inch woofer in a car - so much for the well being of your hearing - that can cause permanent damage -

with a screwdriver - remove the screws of the tweeter -carefully remove the connectors - mark the negative and positive to differentiate - as these have to go back in - take an ohmmeter and take a reading - 0 on the reading indicates a bad tweeter diaphragm - swapping tweeters from one to the other would confirm this as well if the second tweeter sounds fine -

The Altec The Altec mid horn/driver you mention is a two way design ie 500-20,000 cps. The A network is all 1st order. A bandpass midrange crossover section would be needed to stop the 511B output from running on into your tweeter. Now you get 1st, 2nd,1st order. The K55V specs 100-4500 cps. So your new horn/driver will be lacking in the 200-500 cps area. another solution is to swap the A crossover and ALK and use an Altec crossover designed for the 808-8B The Altec mid horn/driver you mention is a two way design ie 500-20,000 cps.
