  1. Why is it that on some LaScalas the network is on the left side of the mid horn, and on some the right side? I guess it really doesn't matter, was just curious. Thanks, Mark
  2. Does anyone in the local DFW area know an individual or dealer willing to mount a cartridge? I tried a couple of years ago and couldn't seem to get it right and just gave up. I'd be willing to pay a small fee for the service. For what it's worth, the turntable is a Project 2.0 and the cartridge is a Grado Red. Thanks Mark
  3. Has anyone used these stands for the RSX-4? The Klipsch page indicates the stands are a perfect match for the speakers, but after looking at the product info, I can't quite figure out how they would mount. Do they just sit on the baseplate that comes with the stands? Was just thinking of some different options rather than mounting them on the wall. Thanks
  4. Guess maybe I had things backwards in my reply........LOL. The main thing I care about is that when I'm at 35,000 feet however it works, it works.
  5. My avatar doesn't mean I know squat about the aerodynamics of plane flight, but I generally agree with what Ray described. The higher pressure on the bottom of the wing provides lift. Thats why at lower speeds (takeoff and landing) the flaps and whatever the thing is called on the leading edge of the wing are *generally* adjusted down to create a more exagerated wing shape. This helps generate more lift at lower speeds. Watch the next time you take off and land. That's also why planes are de-iced before take off, if the airflow over the wing is disrupted, enough lift can't be generated. That's also why if wings ice up while in flight it usually results in bad news. Ok, that's about all I know on this subject.
  6. I just listened to Joe Satriani "Surfing With The Alien"..............does that count?
  7. Good call Dr. Who, I probably jumped to conclusions too soon. Things seem to be settled down now and previous speeds are realized again...
  8. Hi Moon, I put up some wallpaper a few months ago. Have fun...........
  9. Anyone get switched from Comcast to TimeWarner last weekend? I tried to post this last night and couldn't because the forums link kept timing out. In fact, any site I went to was painfully slow loading if it loaded at all. I'd had Comcast service for over 5 years and never experienced any slowdown no matter what time of day. I don't fully understand how cable service is somehow "shared" between users, but maybe that's what was happening during prime time last night. Regardless, trying to surf my favorite sites was not enjoyable and not even possible in some cases. It's certainly not worth the price if slow downs are going to be that bad during peak usage. This morning at 6:00 am the service is what I am accustomed to. Anyway, just wondering if anyone is experiencing similar symptoms after being switched to TW cable.
  10. LMAO, a thread about about a dust cover got more mileage than mounting a cartridge, guess I'll ask elsewhere........
  11. what I'm looking for is a dealer or an individual who can mount the cart properly...
  12. Need some help mounting a cartridge. Have had this Pro-Ject 2.0 for a while and tried to mount a Grado Red. One channel plays but I cannot adjust it for the other channel. Willing to pay a nominal fee if someone can get it dialed in. Thanks
  13. What I'm listening to right now is: Happy Mondays, "Pills 'N' Thrills and BellyAches", CD, rock Crossover rock or something, I don't know, good party deck. Connected a small sub for reinforcement. All tracks are good, one of my fave CD's. Hat's off to thebes for Little Feat, Time Loves a Hero is a classic. Lowell George is one of the best male vocalists in history.... Cheers, Mark
  14. Really can't say much more than what has been said. Things WILL get better lynnm... Hang in there pal......... Best Regards, Mark
  15. Hi group, haven't posted in a while... Earlier today I replaced a Sumiko Oyster with a Grado Red. To the best of my ability, and never having done this before, I thought it went ok. But now only the right channel plays. I used just a paper protractor fron Hi Fi News and checked tracking with the Shure Stylus Force Gauge SFG-2. I don't know, all interconnects and ground are solid, and all the TT arm leads seem to be ok. Any suggestions are certainly welcome. Thanks, Mark
  16. Michael, I posted something similar a few months ago as you and this forum know. Seems like you may be back on track. I'm not totally there yet, but working towards it. Keep it up Colter.... Space aka Mark
  17. I'd get two more RSX-4s, then you would be Klipsch all around. Spring for the extra smack and go with Klipsch, you'll be happy in the long run I would imagine. I really believe the timbre matching thing has some credability. Just my nickels worth... Mark
  18. I'm doing some remodeling and want to tone down the open rack look. If you have this rack, I have a question if you have the perforated side panels and door. How visible are the components through the door and panels? They seem somewhat muted in pictures and on a monitor but want an opinion. I have not been to a dealer yet. I run my tubes most all weekend and just need some ventilation. Thanks, Mark
  19. Hey dodger, I only have a Parasound phono pre-amp, probably not what you were interested in, but I'm happy with it. Most of their stuff seems well rated and has a rock solid 5/10 year warranty. Mark
  20. What do these people have in common: Meade Lux Lewis James P. Johnson Jack Dupree Albert Ammons Jimmy Yancey Mary Lou Williams Come on now.......Google doesn't count...
