    4 SUBS

I must have lucked out with my sub placement. I got two of the RW-12d's at the same time. I tried to place at the side of my tv at first. Because I have an old crappy tv the magnets played havoc with the picture so I did what most people would have said you should not do and I put them directly behind me. I put them touching the back of my sofa with the speakers pointing out to the sides with all of the wires in the middle (the back rubs are nice). And I have to tell you the sound is incredible. So to keep a long story kind of medium long. I will be upgrading the tv soon and I wanted to put 2 more subs under the tv. Because the only bad thing with the subs behind is its not like i really hear them behind but I can feel them behind. And I just wanted to be surrounded with bass front and rear. Are the sub eq's a one time use thing to calibrate or a new permanent thing for the system?
  2. It really is no big deal just like you said. I had one last year myself. And yes that stuff you have to drink the night before is the worst part. Its not that is tastes bad its just hard to get down. Its a pretty easy thing to do to save a life.

    4 SUBS

I am thinking of going the 4 sub route. I have 2 RW-12d's. Any thoughts on doing 2 more RW-10d's instead of 12's. I guess what I am wondering is if the 10's have a different sound than the 12's and would that fill in any gap in sound? Or would I be better just getting 2 more 12's?
  4. You are going to love that. I recently got a Canon D7 (similar specs.) And I absolutely love it for wildlife. The only problem you will have is if you are shooting wildlife at 8FPS you can end up with lots of photos. I had a few times shooting birds and I would end up with 600-700 photos in no time.
  5. Is that one of them real dolls?
  6. My question is what do people think they are breaking in? Basically the only moving part on a woofer is the foam/rubber surround. And to put it simply yes you are breaking it. Every time the sub is on you are wearing it out. Any man made material can only take so much flexing before failure. This sounds like snake oil. Just like Bi-amping and monster cable.
  7. I am talking more about shipped UPS/Fedex to your home door. Its a bit different when a item stays on a semi to the retailer compared to going through 4-5 UPS sort centers.
  8. The are 1983 LaScala's with the professional AL Crossovers.
  9. I have seen a lot of people talk about this. But I do not really get it. Or better said maybe I have not experienced it yet. I have for the most part had years of a system with KLH and Advents on a 4.0 system. Now with mostly Ref. II and rear surrounds Advent. Then and now I have not really noticed any bad sound with different speakers. I guess I can see it with different mains and with the center but with the surrounds? The surrounds are mostly intermittent sound or a low volume. Has anyone done this type of setup and been so unhappy with it they could not take it?
  10. Anyone had any experience with large flat screens (65") shipped? Getting one of these shipped seems risky? Whats the goods and bads?
  11. I am thinking of getting a pair of La Scalas from another member on here. I did go and listen to them with some music and really did enjoy them. But my question is how well they go with TV and Movies? I have a 7.1 system and all the other speakers are of the Ref. II type. I guess what I really want to know is how well they go with TV? I would have them hooked up as the front/mains to the A/V receiver. Would they be obnoxious or overwhelming with regular TV? TV would be the most use they would get. If these would not be a good match with lots of TV then I will go with the RF-82 II. Thanks for any info.
  12. I like how at the end the guy is looking away. That must be for his wife. You know he is just dying to look. I would much rather see this on TV than people getting shot all the time. All of the murder mystery police shows are getting old.
  13. I know what you mean. Makes my stomach hurt from laughing. It is a great show.
  14. So here is my version. I had one from my mom and then I found 3 different ones on the internet. I just combined the 4 recipes and made my own. Its been awhile since I have made this. I am not sold on the vinegar but it was darn tasty. It makes a lot. Brunswick Stew Ingredients 2 1/2 lbs Chicken with bone 1 1/2 lbs Chuck Roast 1/2 lbs Pork 5 slices Bacon 1 teaspoon Pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 - 28 ounce cans Tomatoes diced 3 onions 1/4 cup Butter 2 tablespoons Parsley 3/4 cup Brown Sugar 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce 1/4 cup Frenches Mustard 1 tablespoon Tabasco 1/4 cup Cider Vinegar 1/4 cup Barley 16 ounces Frozen Corn 16 ounces Frozen Okra 16 ounces Frozen Black Eyed Peas 4 Clove Garlic Instructions Preheat oven to 350. Place chicken, chuck roast, pork and bacon in large baking dish. Cut roast into 4-5 pieces. Season with salt and peper. Cover with foil and roast 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. (next time I make it I might do 250 degrees for 3-4 hours until done). After cooking take out meat and save the broth. You will need at least 3 cups of broth. Remove fats from broth. If you do not have enough broth add chicken broth to make 3 cups. Remove chick from bones and skin. Chop bacon in to 2" pieces. Saute the bacon in a large stockpot over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove the bacon and drain off all but about 1-2 tablespoons of fat. Return bacon to pot and increase heat to high. Add onions, garlic and butter. Cook until soft. Add broth to loosen all the brown bits on the bottom of the stockpot. Add tomatoes, parsley, brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, Tabasco, barley, meats, salt and pepper. Bring to boil then simmer for 2 hours. Stir occasionally to make sure sugars and not scorching. After 2 hours break up meat with potato masher. Add corn black eyed peas and okra. Cook for 1 hour or until done. Enjoy
  15. Hey Cigarbum ever tried "Brunswick Stew"? Thats a great southern classic. I used to live on St. Simons Island off the coast of Brunswick on the southern coast of Georgia. The original recipe had things like Squirrel, Possum and raccoon. The newer version has Chicken, Beef and Pork. Also it has okra in it. Mum, Mum good. If you don't have this one and want it let me know.
  16. I second this one. I have never had any subs myself until I just got two of these my self. I got two at newegg for 350 each with free shipping. So far I have enjoyed these. When watching TV they will occasionally add a little extra bass but for the most part I do not really notice them. With music they definitely make up for what my RF-52 II don't have. But put in a blue ray movie and turn it up and holy cow. Since I am not used to subs I have had a few moments during movies that made me jump be because I had them turned up a little to much. I am not even sure of what there full potential is since I have not even come close to 3/4 volume.
  17. I was not attacking you personally. Sorry if you felt that way. It's just my opinion of that company.
  18. And so is Microsoft! Look, despite what all you anti-Apple or anti-Microsoft crowd would like to think, neither is going anywhere anytime soon. You might as well be waiting for a very long time. The fact of the matter is that Apple does indeed make nice, reliable products. I've used everything from Sun Solaris up through Mac OS/X and from my own personal experience, I found the Apple gear to be the most reliable and easiest to use. Granted, I am not going to go and run out to get the new iPhone as I am quite happy with the one that I currently have (an iPhone 4). Now, when it comes time to upgrade in a few years, than I'll re-evaluate the smartphone market and see if it will be worth getting another iPhone or something else entirely. For me its not a apple/microsoft thing. I just think steve is a tool. That about sums it up. Sure I bet they make a great product. And they have very, very good advertising. But I for one will not fall into the hype of an overrated product. Look at their profits. Then you will realize how over priced they are and how they made all of the products of other brands go way to high.
  19. I can't wait until apple dies of worm rot. Way over rated.
  20. Its kind of hard to say without seeing whats happening and what type of saw and how you are doing it? I do not know your skill level so here is a few ideas for any skill level. If in fact the blade is new and sharp. Try going a little slower on each pass. If its ripping out the corners then maybe try sanding and sharp edges before putting on the saw. Are you using table or radial arm? Radial arm, make sure the back stop is clean so the wood does not move at all and do not run back through on the back stroke. Table saw, are you using the blade guard? I am not going to say remove it but sometimes they get in the way. You got to do what you got to do. Are you using a table saw sled fence? That seems the best way to control the wood while cutting. Is the dado set up properly?
  21. Are you going with or against the grain?
  22. What would be a fair price for a pair of used RS-25? MSRP was maybe $499? http://www.klipsch.com/rs-25-surround-speaker
  23. Sounds like you had a visit from the fun police fairy's?
