  1. Listen to a pair of Klipsch, and then listen to the Infinity's, and let your ears decide. Klipsch are much better for music, and excellent for HT Buy Klipsch, you won't be sorry. Greg
  2. Greetings Gentlmen, My daughter is in the US Army Reserves, they have been called up to active duty, and left this morning to go to a mobilization station where they are to be sent overseas to a still undisclosed location in about a week. She leaves behind a husband, and a 2 year old son. Regardless of anyones politics, or feelings on this volatile situation in Iraq, we need to keep all of our troops in our thoughts and prayers as they do their duty. Regards, Greg
  3. Looks fantastic! I wish I had a large room like that and a Belle to go with my Khorns. Oh well maybe someday. Regards, Greg
  4. Greetings Gentlemen, I have a Fisher 800C that gets used nearly every day. I think they were made in 1962 or 1963. Greg
  5. I have an Odyssey Stratos Amp in my HT that has been up 24/7 since I bought it over a year ago, except for 3 times when we had bad thunderstorms. Odyssey has a 20 year warranty and they recommend it to remain on. They even put the switch on the back (hard to reach). Regards, Greg
  6. Same here I have been using Opera for about 3 years in Windows and Linux, I hate to use anything else. Regards, Greg
  7. Greetings Gentlemen, I received two Klipsch bumper stickers yesterday in the mail along with a nice letter from Josh Hall. I guess they are sending them out to everyone who entered the storyteller contest. While it wasn't a pair of Khorns or Heresy's it was a nice gesture nonetheless. Regards, Greg
  8. Good Lord! That sounds more like nails on a chalkboard.
  9. That list is a pretty good start. I did the same thing, I went backwards from rock to Chicago blues to Delta blues. Also don't forget Memphis Minnie and Bessie Smith, they might be women but you can tell where there roots are. Regards, Greg
  10. 2 Hours+ to go, they are at $3,151, and they buyer has shades! I bet the seller is not happy about that. Greg

I have a 1992 Martin HJ28 Acoustic Guitar that retailed for $3,050 in 1992. I got a heck of a deal on it new for $1,800. Regards, Greg
  12. Watch out guys, Craig just got his P.E. I think that means he can charge more for his services. Greg
  13. wkimbrel, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Your Cornwalls were made in 1964, that was a good year. A lot of members here use SET tube amps with their Cornwalls, but I use a vintage Fisher 800C tube receiver which is a push pull amp with about 30 watts per channel. It will get extremely loud with that power. I would also like to try SET but they will have to wait for a while $$. As for your grill questions, HDBRbuilder here on the forum used to work at Klipsch, he has built a few pair of these and he can help you with that question. Regards, Greg
  14. Dean, We will pray for your son and your family in this time of tragedy. Keep the Faith Brother and may God be with you and yours. Regards, Greg
  15. Geez, Who pi**ed in his Cheerios? Greg
  16. Thanks Gentlemen, This thrift is only about a block from where I work, and I haunt the place weekly at lunch. It has the usual compliment of Xmas, Mancini, and Living Strings LP's but on this weeks visit I cleaned up. I picked up the aforementioned Stan Kenton, Sinatra Nice and Easy, Sinatra and Basie, An Evening with Belafonte,6 Nat King Cole and about 30 Classical LP's, mostly Mercury or Columbia mono or early stereo pressings in excellent condition. Whoever dropped these off took very good care of them. I ended up with 60 LP's for $6. I have probably bought 300 LP's from them since last spring when I got back into the vinyl buying mode, all at 10 cents each. I refuse to give out my location to discourage others from getting there first. Regards, Greg
  17. Greetings Gentlemen, This question is for you Jazz enthusiasts. At my local thrift I picked up a NM copy of the Stan Kenton Road Show LP, I think they played at Purdue University in 1959, and the show included Stan Kenton, June Christy, and the Four Freshmen. This LP sounds great, and is autographed by Stan Kenton, Ray Brown, and Ross Barbour of the Four Freshmen. I have figured out who Stan Kenton and Ross Barbour is, but who is Ray Brown and what is his connection with them. Oh by the way the cost of this LP was 10 cents. Regards, Greg
  18. Greetings Gentlemen, I have built two of the DIY Flexy Racks. I built one double flexy for my HT, and a single for my 2 channel. I built them out of 3/4" Oak plywood with iron-on veneer for the edges so that it looks like solid oak. I stained them to match my Khorns and finished them with satin poly so that they are easy to care for. I used 5/8" allthread for the legs and they are very sturdy. They cost about $50 for the double and $25 for the single. Regards, Greg
  19. Thanks HDBR, I have not waxed mine. I have been oiling my Khorns occaisionally as the previous owner had let them set and neglected them due to buying Edgarhorns. They are a lot smoother and nicer looking now. I apply boiled linseed oil about once a month, is this too often? Regards, Greg
  20. Greetings Gentlemen, Should wax be applied over a oiled finish to increase it's gloss? I thought it was mentioned on this forum, but I get time out messages any time I try to search. Regards, Greg
  21. Ed, Welcome to the forum! Try the dealer locator, there might be one located nearby that has them. Or more likely there might be friendly forum nearby that would let you listen to them. You can come by and listen to mine if you wish, but I live in Indiana. My local authorized Klipsch dealer said the the list price is $7,500 per pair. I bought a pair of 1986 Oak Klipschorns within driving distance for $1,700. They were located 2 hours away, and were in excellent condition. I would love to have the cash to buy them new, but until then I will buy used. Save your money and keep your eyes open, you should be able to buy a pair for $2,000 or so if are patient. If and when the opportunity comes be prepared to jump on them ASAP! If you don't have a truck, make sure that you can borrow one, they are about 53" high by 32" wide and weigh approx. 167 lbs each. Regards, Greg
