  1. Fwiw, any God that would forgive an adult who maliciously beat a dog and consider that the status quo of his people is mind blowing to me... He has forgiven me... if MV is repentant (not for me to judge) how can I not also forgive him. I live next door to the former crematory in Noble, Georgia. The former operator left bodies outside to rot instead of cremating them. He killed no one, yet many wish to crucify him. He is in prison and serving his time. He is forever guilty in the eyes of many, yet our justice system says that after he does the time he is free to return to society. That's the way it works. Our actions have eternal consequences. I am just glad that God's love, mercy and forgiveness is greater than my own actions.. Peace, Bro'
  2. I like my Merlin better than the BBX I had. I think Mark could make a killing on that pre alone (or the successor to his company).Bruce
  3. Undeniably! When I was younger, I was good for nothing...
  4. Taken atop Victoria Peak, looking back across to Kowloon. I was amazed at how clean the city is and how well the transportation system runs. I could live there in a heartbeat. Here's the wider shot I took...I wish I had a filter on this, but it was my little pocket camera.
  5. Let's see... we met over 2 1/2 yaers ago, and chat online with video and audio between 2-4 hours a day. Send text messages back and forth, talk on the phone... We've traveled to be together three times so far, and this October will be the fourth. So... yes, we are very serious about each other. It's been a blast going to other countries, seeing how they live. The Euro was killing me on the last trip when we met in Ireland, but they are hurting right now.. Asia and China are CHEAP! You can live comfortably in the Philippines for about $12k a year. We would both rather live here, but we don't know what the future holds...
  6. When the Sgt Pepper's movie was released, a friend of mine took his daughter to see it. He was amazed when she told him that she thought all the songs were written by the Bee Gees and not the Beatles.
  7. That's ok, they did some great music, too. Like... hmmmm now I can't remember... I liked a lot of their really early music, but I never bought any of it.
  8. Donna Summer, Kool and the Gang, Bee Gees, you know... That's too funny. At our school, they don't let you know you might be fired. By the time you know, accounts have already been changed. Our CIO keeps a tight reign on accounts and such. It could still happen, of course, but the dangers are minimized somewhat. Most things are traceable, but too many places don't take precautions. Bruce
  9. The best part is that it is a cheap fix! [Y]
  10. lol, she is a bit older than my daughter. [:#] But I will be the gentleman and not give her age. We are hoping so, since she will be arriving on a fiancee visa. The process is 8-10 months or more.
  11. My girlfriend is currently teaching English in China, and we haven't been together since last August when we traveled to Ireland. I'm going to meet up with her in Hong Kong on her birthday this October. This was taken in HK in 2007, from Victoria Peak. Things are happening, and we are starting the visa process to get her over here. Did I mention we are both pretty excited? Bruce
  12. Cheapest repair I've made and it worked great!
  13. Who between the ages of 40 to 50 dose not love that song ? Must be a generational thing . I didn't recognize the title, but I remember often hearing that song in the background in a certain period. After I looked at that video, I clicked around and came across Itchycoo Park by The Small Faces. That really brought back some memories from the era when music went in a new direction, what with Sergeant Pepper's (released a couple of months earlier in 1967) and other early psychedelic music. Check out the phased drums. I think that must have been one of the earliest uses of that effect in pop music. The Small Faces - Itchycoo Park: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJzcF0v1eOE&feature=related Three of the members later formed a group with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, with the named shortened to The Faces. I think my age is showing... Bruce
  14. I thought you saidYOU were getting wider... [:#]It's soooo cool when we get new stuff. I am anxious to hear your take on the MWM and 402 combo. Bruce
  15. The Weldbond works great! Kudos to DJK for telling me about this a long time ago. The JBLs I fixed are still rockin'!
  16. That would be the chorus from Bob Dylan's Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35... A short clip of the Dead performing Saint Stephen at Woodstock: I know THAT. I was just thinking of THE St. Stephen, who was stoned for proclaiming Jesus.
  17. What a great name! I find it humorous that the Grateful Dead... needle tracks up and down Jerry Garcia's arms.. would have a song about St. Stephen. Maybe his song was "Everybody Must Get Stoned".
  18. Yup... post a pic. If the piece fell out maybe not. Otherwise, it CAN be patched, i fyou are will to spend a little time and $5. Bruce
  19. And that also keeps the sinuses cleared out.
  20. Me too! Greg That's just too funny, Greg... Haven't you paired them up yet or did you get rid of your Jubilees? I would think that would be a no brainer to try out.
  21. And don't hook the mid frequency connection to the tweeter again. If the tweeter was good, you could blow it by sending frquencies that are too low through it. The componets are woofer, mid and tweeter. It isn't a subwoofer, although compared to a Bose system, it might seem that way. [:|] From the home page, you can search for your model. get the specs on it and see the different crossover prequencies, where the signal from your amp/receiver is split into the frequency bands that go to each component.
  22. My HIIs are doing bedroom duty, up on small tables so they are the correct height while sitting in bed reading or whatever. Powered by an HK430, I really feel NO lack of bass. But then again, I like my LaScalas, too. Bruce
  23. Well put, Paul! I mostly play an acoustic, which derives its tone from the different woods that are used in the guitars construction. The higher quality the construction, the nicer the tone can be, but still varies a lot based on the technique and skill of the player. A good quality instrument inspires better playing. Good intonation (staying in tune as you play up the neck) and playability (lower string action, etc.) all contribute. The only newer instrument I have seen to be really innovative, is the Stick. It isn't just a fancy/different guitar. I have been tempted to get one, but am not disciplined enough to learn it, and the price of entry is a little high (although I have spent more on acoustics). I would be more inclined to get a cello and work at it... http://www.stick.com/
  24. Sheesh... he's probably bought a condo in Panama. We'll miss you fritzer, it's been good. Bruce
  25. Steve, Great words of encouragement! My wife and I divorced in late '76. Without making this a religious thread, we both became Christians in '77, apart from one another. We remarried that Fall. It only got better and better until she left me due to cancer, just after Christmas in '05. The possibilities are endless... You will contiually be in my prayers, Trey. Bruce
