    Let It Be

Does anyone know if Let It Be is available on DVD. I thought I saw it at some web site but something told me it wasn't official release. Thanks!
  2. It's funny. When I read Moon's comment that he didn't realize how big Cornwalls were I thought the same when I saw the K-Horns. I'm so used to my Cornwalls that they just don't seem that big and my Heresy's seem downright puny. I've often thought about owning a pair of K-Horns but now I realize they are just too big! Maybe I could do the opposite of Tamivo and got rid of my last child to make room. Of course he's off to college in a few months so maybe ... Don

    Train

I agree. I just bought this dvd and it sounds great. I especially like to crank the drum solo, I believe at the end of Eggplant. Later, Don

Does anyone know if Delicate Sound of Thunder is available on DVD? I think this is an excellent show. I have the VHS but would love it on DVD.
  6. I agree, goods. I bought the movie yesterday and have to say that the sound is awesome. The gunfire is almost non-stop once you get past the first 30 minutes. Very enjoyable. One of the better war movies - a definite keeper. Don
  7. HDBRbuilder, Have to say this is one of the more interesting posts here. I think you may have built my Cornwalls. I bought them in 1978 (17S353 and 17S354, C-WO). I never noticed the stamp on the side - A3KC. If this is your mark, I want you to know that they are still beautiful for their age and they still sound great. I've been very kind to them and they've forgiven me when I've pushed them - just wish the neighbors would (LOL) The internet has made the world a very small place. Like the others, I would love to see some old pictures from that era. Thanks again for the history! Don
  8. I'm a big fan of MJ Fox, look forward to the DVD collection and will definitely add it. Thanks for the heads up. Don
  9. There are so many as the previous posts attest. Here are a couple of names i don't think anyone has mentioned though Alvin Lee - a favorite of mine in the late 60's early 70's Robby Krieger - definitely under-rated John Lee Hooker - someone must have mentioned him, I especially like the collaborations with Canned Heat. Phil Manzanera - Solo and with Roxy Music Shannon Curfman - currently listening to her, lots of potential Leslie West - gotta say him just because Mountain concerts and their music bring back good memories There must be dozens other. 10. Just saw this post and have to jump in - late I know. I thought Moulin Rouge was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Talk about over the top. I wish I had seen it at the theater. How can you not like a movie about a turn of the century French bordello/night club. Plus, Nicole's in it!!
  11. Sab323 You Can Tune a Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish Definitely REO Speedwagon - Epic Records, various releases. Joe Walsh - The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get Ah, the 70's. Those were good times.
  12. dsommerl: Thanks for the offer - I'll keep it in mind. Looks like we are trying for somewhat the same arrangement. Boa: Thanks for the input. Heresys are definitely to large for the sides. That's why I was thinking of some type of wall mounted speakers for the sides. I will probably look for a pair of RS-7 or RCW-5. Thought: I could divorce the wife and have Cornwalls all around (LOL)...........naaaa
  13. I am having the same speaker dilemma. I am set with Cornwall fronts and C-7 front center. I bought a pair a Heresys for the surrounds. Now I've ordered the new Outlaw 7.1 processor and am looking for the other two speakers. Another set of Heresys is out - too big. Was thinking about RS-7 or RCW-5 in-walls. After reading HornEd's post that the rears are the least critical for the time being, any advice on how to arrange the remaining 4 speakers? Should I use the Heresys for the sides or the rears? I'm almost to the wiring stages in my room and any advice is appreciated.
  14. I have a question concerning in-wall speakers. I currently have a pair of Cornwalls, a pair of Heresys, and a C-7 center. If I decide to go to 6 or 7 channel sound i just won't have any room for conventional speakers. I am in the framing stages of an entertainment room (not really a home theatre) and was thinking that in-wall speakers would be one solution. I could wire now rather than later. Anyway, my question is which in-wall speakers would sound right with what I currently have or are there alternative solutions? Thanks for any ideas!
  15. After having read all these comments about age and music and equipment, I thought I'd add my two cents worth. My equipment has pretty much stayed the same for almost 25 years. A pair of Cornwalls I bought when I was 25, a Pioneer SX1050 receiver and a Harman Kardon turntable. Over the years I did add a cd player. Now I'm "upgrading" to a home theatre setup. But you know the old setup still sounds good to me. But I do love movies. As for music lets take a look at what cds are in the truck - a 15 year old female blues guitarist (Shannon Curfman), Schoolboys in Disgrace (Kinks), a Cheryl Crow cd, Dark Side of the Moon by - I shouldn't have to say, Train, and a few cd's I recorded off Napster after my son showed me how. I don't think age has anything to do with what you like. Something just moves you, touches you. The only drawback is that my son hates it that I like some of what he likes. I think that's why he started listening to rap. He knew I didn't care for it - but have you heard that group Nelly? LOL Don
