The 311 is still a 10" sub, it just has some other stuff built in like room correction.

^^^HSU? If you can, get 2 of the same subs, not 2 different ones. It will be easier to make it sound good.

^^^All it means is that you can play import DVDs from anywhere in the world. Not a big deal for most, but I suppose it depends on what kinda movies you like to watch.

A used 93 wouldn't be $700. Maybe a used 95 would be that much...

There are pro level sound cards that are used for audio production, so you can always improve. Will you be able to hear a difference? Maybe, maybe not.

You mean 7"?no I meant what I said. He mentioned this sub being used with the rb-41ii's. that is there smallest speaker. So you are talking basically crossing a satellite over to a 15" sub. That is the only thing I worry about with the 115. Otherwise I would never recommend something that small.I follow. I don't think that would be a problem, plus, what if he decides to upgrade the fronts later?

That'd be a nice price. I still wouldn't use it in something dedicated for movies. Maybe if you used the system for music mostly but the 115 is no slouch there either.

308 = 8" sub 115 = 15" sub The 115 is going to dig deeper for movies, and it also sounds great musically, so I'd go with that one. I'm sure the 308 is going to have a good sound to it too, but it won't rumble as much in the low low end. Also, how much have you shopped around? I think you could get that package for a little less. Maybe not a lot less, but a little. Call all of the online authorized dealers and see who can give you the best price. If you've already done that, well, good on ya =^) Definitely go with the 115 tho.

Ah, I gotcha. I looked at that AVR, but I guess I missed that it had pre-outs. Even though the speakers are sensitive, they still like power. When I went from my onkyo to my denon, the speakers really opened up, and I'm sure if I put an amp on them it'd help out even more since I have 7.1.

I don't think his HK has pre-outs. I would say get a better AVR if you can with more power and pre-outs if you want to add an amp later.

I have a denon and I usually have it from -30 to -50 depending on time of day and content and source I'm playing from. I sit about 3 m from mine and they are split about 2.25 meters apart.

Hrmm, I wasn't aware of that. I'm fine n dandy with using HDMI cuz I doubt I'd be able to hear a difference anyways.

How about an ipod? You could use a headphone jack to RCA connection, should be the same idea.

Try unplugging everything and plugging it back in including all the RCAs and power chords. I don't suppose you have any friends that have an amp you can borrow to see if it's the amp or the pre-amp?

That AVR is pushing 75w per channel, which still should be plenty for those speakers. Have you ran Audyssey? I also believe there are other apps out there for the denons if you look. You might try a google search and see what else is out there.
