  1. So how does that sub sound with your big stuff? Is there a big K-402 in your future? Dam you and the K-402's! those are definitely in my future ! Sub is in place but no amp yet. Should have one this weekend but it's killing me to wait. Your setup was amazing no matter how your listening skills are ! LOL
  2. As far as listening skills go, I have no idea where I land but I'm too old to change where I'm at, nor do I care to ! I enjoy what I hear and that's good enough for me. I must admit that I do get a sense of pride when people tell me that's the best system they've ever heard but I also have a friend who put's his hands over his mouth and honks like a goose every time he see's me because he likes to tease me about my horns and that's ok too. I have 3 fairly different systems and I like them all! My MCM's are my favorite by far but so is primerib. I could eat it a lot but not every day, sometimes a hamburger sounds good (KG 5.5's) .I know they aren't as good but sometimes they just hit the spot. But if I had to pick one I'd go big!
  3. Until yesterday I had only read about horn subs. I was lucky enough to stop by a forum members house . He had a Lab12, aTHT ,and 2 Danley DTS10's. All I can say is wow ! As a bonus he had some 402's I got to listen too as well. If you ever get a chance to listen to 402's Don't ! I'm pretty sure you will want some!
  4. Welcome to the forum ! I think very well done and you should enjoy those for some time. I don't have any more room for speakers but if I found KLF20's for $400 locally, I would buy them in a heartbeat !
  5. Just my opinion but I think you will want a separate amp or amps. I have the same setup except I opted for KL-650 rears instead of the KL-525's. I ran them off a Denon 3805 for a while and it sounded good but I did switch to separates and it became much better. I am running my speakers with 2 Emotiva XPA-5's and I love them, but several here have complained about noise with them , FWIW mine have been silent ! and extremely reliable! As far as the subs go , your room is bigger so I'm not sure? I have plenty with 2 in my room but I would love to have 4. That being said I would start with 2 and decide for yourself if you need 4. This is a great system for watching movies ! Good Luck and Enjoy !
  6. This is exactly my understanding as well. I have a 7' tall server rack housing my equipment , which required me to use some 12' RCA's and I have no problems at all. This is going from a Classe SSP to some supposedly noisy Emotiva XPA-5's ( Mine have been great! )

Michael For now these are going to be used in many ways. I will use the three full stacks for home theater duty in a very small room( this will change down the road). I will also use them for 2 channel music, and lastly I left the 2 extra MWM's on an enclosed porch so I can grab them and a couple of top sections from the house for occasional parties, outdoor events, or even let my friends band use them. l I have the 5-way binding posts

l would definitely call WC I believe he has the castings for all those pieces and spent alot of time working with a metallurgist to get the compound right.

Sorry Bryan. I saw your thread about trading and believe me I would be thrilled to trade for singles but mine don't have the trim. They came out of a theater and they have no handles or trim. I think WC at Panacea Engineering put a lot of work into reproducing the trim but from what I remember from our conversation it wasn't what I would call cheap. WC is a straight shooter and pretty much talked me out of it but then again I don't tour. He is a riot to talk with and he had some MWM bins if I remember correctly. I think he might be a good guy to talk with for finding some bins or figuring out what it would cost to trim them out. Best of luck with your search and thanks for your prior input , I am considering a couple things you suggested that I would have never thought of. Gary

Michael I did end up with Three Full Stacks including the passive networks, plus 2 additional MWM bins. 1 bin is complete and the last has no drivers.I also received 5 wooden bases that match the MWM bins exactly except in height , and they do have casters on them.

Have you ever heard them or is this a leap of faith? I don't mean test drive to see if drivers working, I mean setup so you can do some toe-tapping. It was a leap of faith but not a long one. I have lurked for years before finally joining and there are several members here whose opinions I highly value usually these members echo my sentiments on things I am familiar with and thus I tend to trust their judgement on things I'm not. I did half a** set them up with an old Sony ES Reciever that is on it's last legs and my Phone to play some music. The Sony would go into protection if I tried to push it at all. I will say that I expected them to sound awesome at loud levels which I did not get to try but I was not prepared for these "Delicate Beasts" to sound so full and so good at very low to very moderate levels. I can't wait to hear these with some decent gear in front of them.

. Bryan I was actually leaning towards K2's in March and then again when I saw your set up. Back in March there were K2's for sale everywhere but it seems like I have waited too long . There doesn't seem to be many around or they appear to be overpriced. That being said the efficiency would be a huge benefit to me.. Thank you for your input.. Your system is jaw dropping and at the top of my Klipsch bucket list of things to experience along with Michaels "House of Klipsch" and invite myself to "Coytee's"Richards outdoor theater and bring some MCM's with me.

    MCM 1900

Well I finally took possession of these a week ago today. I actually bought them in March but had to leave town for a long while. I wanted to thank everyone who offered advice and ask for a little more help. . I was wondering what (pro)amps some of you would recommend to run these to their full potential. . Oh and I am the one on the left smiling the guy on the right is one of three friends that weren't smiling
  14. I don't see a mic input on the amps but if you are talking about the pre/pros, it is for Calibration
  15. I completely agree. I have been running 2 XPA-5's for just over 4 years and not 1 problem or complaint other than they are a bear to move. They are heavy and built like a tank. I have no plans to sell mine but I have noticed they seem to hold their value as well.
  16. look up user panacea engineering on here. He is a member and a dealer. Or you can call mike at acoustic sound design, he gives great prices too. You will save money with either option over buying at amazon and both are authorized dealers. I will second looking up Panacea Engineering. Very helpful and extremely knowledgeable ,not knocking the others mentioned , just haven't dealt with them.
  17. I agree KG 5.5's are great speakers . Good Luck!

Finally after a painfully long delay between the weather and conflicting schedules I got a chance to check these out last week and they are in really good condition.I listed my Belle's for sale when I got home to make room and to fund the project. The Belle's left Saturday which was sad for me. We have agreed upon a price and all I have to do is work around the weather, line up some volunteers to throw their backs out and part with the cash.I am both excited and a little bit nervous about this as these are way too big and powerful for where they are going to be for the short term but that is going to change and these opportunities don't land in your lap very often. I am going to end up with 5 MWM (double) bins 4 functional and 1 cabinet with no drivers 3 MSSM's 3 MSM's 3 MMTM's 3 MCM 4-Way Networks And several pissed off neighbors I want to thank all of you for your help and suggestions! I would also like to mention that I spoke with WC from Panacea Engineering today. He is brutally honest, he may have cost himself some money today but rest assured if I or anyone I know needs a Klipsch product ,he will be the guy to go to.He is also a riot to talk with, he spent a lot of time answering questions and sharing knowledge even though there was nothing in it for him and he knew that early on. Gary
  19. Wow can't listen to them! I have never heard that comment about the Ultra 2's What speakers have you heard that you did like? I have heard many different speakers B&w's, Polks, Maggies, KEF, etc all different and all good( I know not all speakers sound good) but I prefer Klipsch. I have owned and/or heard many different Klipsch (THX, Heritage, Legend ,etc.) and liked them all but of course some more than others. I recently heard the RF7's and own the Ultra 2's and since you are asking strictly about movies and based on your comment I doubt you will like them. I really liked them a lot! but still prefer my Ultra 2's for movies in my room. If I had to choose between the two it would be based on several factors, enviroment , budget, movie/music ratio etc. As I am not familiar with those specific Polks I went over to the Polk forum and read their comments and several there chose the Klipsch for Movies as well.Talk about some classy and honest opinions. The only Klipsch line I could even think of to suggest you try would be the large Heritage(KHorns, Belle's,LaScala's) they are big with big sound. My favorite type of movies might be different than yours.Neither one of us is wrong just different ! So the reason I asked what speakers you liked is so you can get opinions from people with similar tastes. That would help you narrow down your choices before you go out for auditions. Good luck in your quest but I doubt you will find your answers here , as I know many people here prefer one line or specific model over another but I doubt very many that enjoy Klipsch speakers enough to spend time on the forum would be of the same opinion if they heard the Ultra 2 system. They might think there are better Klipsch options or they might have issue with the price but I doubt they would say they 'cant listen them"
  20. You will have to follow the link
  21. Glad to hear you are enjoying it ! I actually suggested this model in the other thread when you bought the Belle's and asked for suggestions. When you had an issue I felt somewhat guilty for suggesting the Denon, but I really feel the 3805 sounds great with the Belle's. Actually it sounded great with my KG5.5's as well. Good Luck and I hope you enjoy this combo as much as I have
  22. I 'm gonna have to agree unfortunately. I would try contacting the person you got it from and see if they are aware of this. Maybe they can help but if the reset doesn't work I am doubtful anything can be done on your end.
