  1. This stuff is good...Liefmans Goudenband.
  2. oldbuckster you would be amazed with how many people are the OPPOSITE of how you describe them. They are NOT plug n play Joe Consumer. They really and earnestly believe that they have made a well-researched and wise decision. They really do think Bose has the best sound quality available and will argue 'til the day they die.
  3. One of my favorite hobbies is to give people a hard time on youtube with their Bose videos they post. Check them out!
  4. There is a great 6cd Fleetwood Mac boxset of Green stuff that has a super-low list price. I think I got mine new for like $30 or so.
  5. Electronic: Ambient, Detroit techno, dubstep, techno, minimal techno, idm, modern electronic classical, turntablism Rock: Indie-rock, 80's metal, 70's metal, early Black Metal, singer/songwriter, classic rock, prog-rock, krautrock, instrumental/neo-classical shred guitar Jazz: Hard-bop, avant-garde/free-jazz, fusion/electric jazz Modern classical minimalists, old r&b, old blues
  6. This is my newest favorite. Brasserie des Rocs Grand Cru. It's a Belgian Brown Ale and damn if it ain't delicious.
  7. Have you messed around with Front Row yet? Are you downloading artwork into iTunes? Get an Apple remote and use Front Row...that's the ticket.
  8. No offense to Germany but no one can touch Belgian beer.
  9. Actually there's only one type of beer...Belgian.
  10. oldbuckster............how often do you wear out period keys on keyboards...............? :-)
  11. Daddy Dee I think you can have 2 fingers on the pad and press click for a right-click. You can customize all those things in the preferences. I love my macs and hate touching pc's. Once you get going on one you'll be like "Why was I ever even messing around with pc's?" I am a firm believer that a mac is the perfect machine for a newbie because of how intuitive its OS is. I don't even have to read the instructions most of the time. You can just look at a piece of software and figure out how to use it.
  12. Those are the ones recommended by the guy Cleby who rebuilds/mods/restores Dynaco gear. He says he's tried them all and these are the best current production models. He also likes the 6550 over the KT-88 in this amp. I've left my amps on for the last 3 years and play them every day and they still sing nice. I rebias every 3-4 months and they have never needed any adjustment over .01-.05.
  13. I'm running the Ruby Svetlana 6550SVT power tubes in my Dynacos & stock everything in the PrimaLuna. I can't really find any fault in those.
  14. I can vouch that a pair of Cornwalls WILL fit in the back of a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport :-)
  15. I'm with you oldtimer! My girlfriend is so ticked at me right now because I keep talking like Dr. Roxo..."I'm Dr. Roxo the rock 'n' roll clown...I do cocaine"
  16. Whatever...I don't want people showing up at my house either and seeing all of my gear. Especially for a cheap item like that. I agree that it should be stated in the description though. It's my auction and I make the rules so people must abide. What if screen name "babylover69" wins your auction and wants to swing by to pick up a $10 cord he won?
  17. I absolutely LOVE my ProLogue Three preamp. My monoblock power amps use KT-88's so my situation is similar. I have had zero issues in 1 1/2 yrs and it is as plug n play as it gets. I have heard the Five as well and I would choose it over the EL34-based Four. Nice slam on the low end. Is there a dealer near you?
  18. I just set up a station right HERE. Can I get a few people to see if it works? I can't do it myself because iTunes supplies the feed and when I try to listen it stops playing what's going over the air to tune in. Of course at this point nothing is playing over the air. I'm going to add tons of music in the next few hours if it works alright. Mostly ambient/space/experimental/modern electronic classical.
  19. Have you guys ever heard Dead Can Dance? THIS track is awesome and so is THIS one. Well-recorded with real live instruments...very dynamic stuff and you may dig it if you like Loreena, Enya, etc. and wanna dig a little deeper.
  20. People still use Internet Explorer? The only time I EVER use IE is if someone has an idiotic site that will only work with IE. Most clunky outdated browser ever. I'll try to download now using the browser from an AOL 2.0 disc circa '96. Wish me well. BTW I live almost literally right behind the Saxon. It is a South Austin live music staple.
  21. Thanks for all the great music selections this year pmsummer. I've picked up quite a few things that you've posted....most recently 3 Terje Rypdal albums. I still can't believe you don't care for Lindeman's Framboise though :-) I'll be working on this bottle of Westmalle Trappist Ale in your honor. Merry Christmas to everyone.
  22. What about Cat Power or The Gossip for some retro sounds.
