  1. This question will expose my lack of knowledge in the audiophile world, but here goes: I can pick up a QSC ISA 300T for $100 and use if temporarily until I can find the right Acurus or Parasound amp. I will use it behind my RF-83s in a 2 channel setup for music. I know that pro amps aren't really the ideal amp for what I want., Fan noise isn't going to be an issue and I know that the connection to and from the amp isn't optimal. Can this amp safely be used for these speakers? Can the connections be modified for this application? Is it worth the hassle or a downright bad idea? Feel free to bash away. Ron
  2. Man, that really puts things into perspective. I know that the SEC has had an incredible run. May end soon. May not. I heard that FSU is still 8 point favorites. I won't be losing any money on this one. Ron
  3. Great idea. Put me down for one as well. Ron
  4. yeah, something like that...... Any good will that we had with other teams was burned up in the '90s by Spurrier. That's OK with me. Usually this would be an easy call but I don't have one peep of love for the Tigers. Or is it the War Eagles? Guess it's better to have more than one mascot just in case something happens to one. Ron
  5. UCF was a bright spot this year. In all honesty, I lost interest in ANY football about halfway through the year (go figure) and didn't really keep up with anyone. This NT game has me really torn this year. I WILL root for both teams to lose, which means that I will cheer whenever something bad happens to either team. Ron
  6. Wow. I've seen some takeaways before but that is nuts. Ron
  7. All I remember, except the hair, was that the guy could scramble and then make some really nice plays. Ron
  8. I remember that you guys had a QB that had really long dark hair. Rare for those days. Ron
  9. Yeah, Miami definitely had their time in the spotlight. They really had their way with FSU back in the day. Howard Schnellenberger was their coach when I was at Florida. Jim Kelly was their QB in 82 when we upset them 17-14 with a last minute one handed catch . The next week my fellow Lakeland Dreadnaught, Wayne Peace, was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Brings back some great memories. Thank goodness that was before Miami started to ramp up...... Ron
  10. As a former wide receiver for the Gators, I have to wonder........ can both teams lose????? The conspiracy theories about the SEC crack me up. You can't really think that there is some great organization that looks the other way when it comes to SEC teams, right? What about when Bobby Bowden let Janikowski play because he was subject to "International rules". He knew that he probably couldn't win without him. The undeniable fact is that for the last many years the SEC has had better recruiting thus better teams THUS more championships. When I was playing, Alabama was a dominant force and that was 30 years ago. Since then, quite a few SEC teams have had dynasties. Although FSU has 2 NTs, they were separated by 6 years. They were a great team then and look to be on the road to more awesome seasons. My Gators now are in a bad way. The coach should have been replaced. Unfortunately we have a while before we are competitive again. Anyone who knows anything about college football can't tell you with a straight face that the ACC is anywhere near as good as the SEC. Therefore FSU doesn't have the type of competition that SEC teams do. In any year. Neither do teams from other divisions. Take Ohio State, for example. They breeze through a season and then play an SEC team for the NT and it always ends ugly. I have no love for Auburn. I have less for FSU. And NOW to make things worse, my son is dating one of Bobby Bowden's granddaughters. Sucks to be me right now The way I see it, Auburn is a couple of plays from being an average team. FSU's schedule has left a lot to be desired. I would have to flip a coin. I think both teams can win. Depends on which one wants it bad enough. I should root for Auburn since they are a fellow SEC team but I hate them. I should root for FSU because they are another Florida school but to do so is impossible, The best I can do is watch the game and hope it is close. Ron
  11. Awesome news! Keep us posted on your progress. Ron
  12. Definitely let us know how this goes. Great price. Ron
  13. If you can find a pair of 83's close by they should be easier on the wallet and well worth the price. Try to listen to both if possible. Ron
  14. The water level in our pond has dropped DRAMATICALLY this year. Do you guys think that is why the feral hogs are coming around? Ron
  15. If you can, that is a great price on top of the line Klipsch speaks. Keep us posted when you get them. Ron
  16. I think you are confusing these with the pair in New Bedford. Not the same. These are new. Ron
  17. But shipping is free. So it really doesn't matter even if he is in Australia, right? Ron
  18. Perhaps the free shipping is the best part of this deal..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-RF-7-II-Speaker-System-Reference-Floorstanding-Tower-Speakers-B-Stock-/390724784140?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item5af903100c No affiliation. Ron
  19. Its a little to far for me to go, but a great deal I am sure!! Wish I could find some 83's reasonably close!! Know the feeling. 4 1/2 hours away I found mine. Very memorable trip. Good luck with your search. Ron
