  1. High price, but nice system. Maybe somebody could offer $550-$600 and see what happens. https://cosprings.craigslist.org/ele/5889054046.html
  2. Nice ;-) You're definitely one of us. Be careful with that amp tho. Running both pairs together is going to put a lot more strain on it. Impedance is probably dropping below 2 ohms at some point and asking the amp to crank out a lot more than it's used to, so just be careful at higher volumes and check for overheating.
  3. I don't see anything wrong with keeping the RF-3s over the RF-82s. They are on the same level of performance, and while the RF-82 is newer and more refined, that doesn't necessarily mean it's better. I like that the RF-3 has a more pronounced midrange, a leaner balance, and a more dynamic and powerful personality. The RF-82 is taller and looks better, deeper reaching bass, and a more relaxed, refined sound with a more high+low balance(recessed midrange). They're practically even in my book.
  4. As long as you're not pumping way too much power into them or, more seriously, clipping at the amp, they should be fine. I think clipping would be the fastest way to destroy your speakers....but I have no first hand experience :-p
  5. RF-25 all day. Even if he won't take less than $300 for them, still a better purchase than $360 for a pair of R24f. If you have the money to spend and there are no better options available, then just buy them, regardless of typical market price. I paid $1200 for KLF-30s that usually sell for $700-1000. But they're in mint condition, absolutely no better options available, and they're worth the money to my ears. Also, the RF-25 is a spectacular model and an absolute steal at the "normal" price range. If you plan on keeping them for a long time, I see no problem in paying $300 for a minty pair.
  6. Yes, RF-3s can be found for $200-350 and are an absolute steal. They have a lean balance with less bass than newer models but very clean, dynamic, and powerful. RF-35s can be found for $250-400 and are one of my all time favorite models. Beefier balance than RF-3, clean, dynamic, supremely powerful, and sharper/brighter than the more relaxed/refined RF-82. I'm sure the majority would prefer the 82, so don't take my opinion as fact, but in general, all these models are roughly on par with each other.
  7. The R28f are on the same level as the old KF28 and F-30 Synergy/Icon models. Lower quality materials, aluminum tweeters (vs titanium in RF82), poly woofers(vs aluminum in RF82). They lack midrange, boost treble and bass, and bass sounds a bit flabby compared to RF82. The RP280f is not a huge upgrade over RF82, simply a newer version with some refinements. Even the two older models before the RF82(the RF35 and RF3) still hold up spectacularly against the newer models. I actually prefer the RF35 over the RF82.. :-)
  8. Trying to get a better recording. My S7 doesn't seem to capture the hi-freq range very well. Tried cupping my hands as ears on the mics.
  9. As an owner of both models, I think the 160 is a much better overall speaker. The 61 is mighty fine, but the 160 is much more transparent, slightly better balanced, and much more controlled with improved imaging. I personally score the: RP-160m - 9.0/10.0 RB-61 - 8.0/10.0 R15m - 6.5/10.0 Don't misunderstand, if the 160m didn't exist, it would be hard to recommend a bookshelf model better than the RB-61.

Nice. KLF-20 is one of the best Klipsch I've ever heard. More punch than Chorus? I've never heard Chorus, but that's impressive seeing as that's one of Chorus' top selling points.
  11. Yeah, they're huge. and that tv in the middle is a 65".
  12. Picked up these mint, black KLF-30's couple weeks ago. Noticed a slight buzzing sound from one of the mids. Pulled it apart and found a tiny piece of dirt in the ring on the magnet where the diaphragm fits. Pulled it out via the sticky note trick i read about on Crites' site. Still amazed at the condition of these things. Paid top dollar for them and they're worth every penny to me. Powered by my Adcom 545, couldn't be happier. Can't wait to order the titanium tweeter diaphragms and lock these towers in as my all time keepers! It's impossible to find good pictures of KLFs, so an image from Youthman's theater is now my avatar. Also, anybody know what's up with this(apparently old) image of the KLF? It looks like a combination of CF and KLF!
  13. I agree with the voicing mismatch. A third KLF is what you need.
  14. Just text the photo to a friend, then upload the text version. It will be compressed to about 1mb.
  15. You may be surprised at the powerful sound that the RP-160m will produce. The bass is strong and well balanced. They will provide you with the full sound experience for most music. You will only need the subwoofer to fill in the deepest bass of movies and electronic/Hip-Hop music.
  16. Also, I agree with Ibiza, seriously consider the RP-160m. It is truly a superior quality model. One of Klipsch's best. A pair of RP-160m + subwoofer will crush the R28f in every possible way
  17. If you're going to purchase a sub, save a little more money on the mains and go with the R-26f. There is hardly any difference between R26f and R28f, especially if you have a subwoofer.
  18. I'd save a little money and get the R-26f. Better yet, save even more money and look for used F-30(or F-3) or KG 5.5. They're all front ported. What's your location? We could check your local craigslist.
  19. Here's my rough order: RF-5 > RP-280f > RF-35 > RF-82 > RF-3
