  1. Good suggestion. Thank you. And .. thanks to tnr and the other guys. It really is tough losing our little family members.
  2. Not much on the agenda today. AND ,, it's hard staying in today. We have a Halloween bash tomorrow night with friends, a DJ, etc., Also a home visit from a Springer Spaniel rescue operation on Sunday. We lost our little dog to illness about a month ago and are looking for a new 4 legged companion/kid. We've had a Springer before and they're great dogs. Keeping our fingers crossed. Somehow gotta remember this is just Thursday!!

    GO GIANTS!

Great ball game and great pitching performance. I grew up watching a select few pitchers like Bob Gibson and know that performances like that don't come along very often. Congrats Giants fans.
  4. That's the biggest problem with this hobby, you don't know what your missing until you try something. You don't always notice a problem until you hear an improvement. You've got that right. As soon as I heard the improvement, I started thinking 'what if I'd spent just a little more' ....
  5. Hey guys, good morning. Looks like another great fall day here. Yesterday turned out well. Got some outdoor fall clean-up work done and also put a new cd player in the 2 channel system. Bought a demo Marantz CD6005 for 100 off from Music Direct. Really adds some depth and detail I didn't know we were missing. Will check back in later. Happy Wednesday and cheers. Chuck
  6. Welcome, Mystery. Looks like you're no stranger to Klipsch. There are a few of us Denver area guys on the forum. Enjoy the experience here ... great group. Chuck
  7. Great pictures dtel. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Beautiful morning in Colorado. BUT .. we're finally getting some chilly days. Had to happen. Tarheel, if you win, bring your LF and the gang to Denver. Then we'll hit the ski resorts in Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, etc. I guess I can do my part by buying tickets out here, too. Happy Tuesday to all.
  9. Jim, we've discussed this general subject before and others are better qualified to address the DIY issues. Since I've got a KLF-30 based 5.1 HT, I just wanted to note that my RW-12d sub is crossed at 40hz and we like the results. Others on the forum have differing views. Best of luck.

    GO GIANTS!

Great performance. If they could only start him every game.... Hey, I didn't check either, but it might be interesting to compare Bumgarner to Bob Gibson's WS stats. Have a great day.
  11. Slow on the draw this morning. Something about yard work and too much fresh air on Sunday. This semi-retirement thing is strange. Worked my butt off last week (that's the semi part) but not much on the horizon this week except personal stuff (that's the retired part). Life is good. Happy Monday guys.
  12. Two is my limit these days, as well. Of course, I reach for a Diet Coke around mid-morning.... Going to do some yard work this a.m. and grill a batch of orange/ginger pork chops late afternoon. Gotta smoke some ribs before winter weather really sets in, too. Have a great Sunday folks!!
  13. There's even an old song to sing while taking care of these unpleasant chores .... 'member 'Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road'?? If not there's likely a YouTube on it. Happy Saturday guys. Chuck
  14. A debate on gun control? Really?? Injecting that in a discussion on Ebola containment??!! Hijacking.
  15. Lots of good suggestions for you in these posts. Another possibility for your Belles is to upgrade the amp you are using. Personally, I won't use an AVR anymore for 2 channel. I've gone from an avr to a nice little Marantz integrated to Parasound separates on my 2 channel system (Cornwall III's) and each bump up the ladder has been a significant improvement in sound quality and 'slam'. Not everyone will agree, I know, but that's my experience.
  16. Let's see some pics! My Cornwalls sound 'good' but would probably sound great in a different space. We have a room that does not afford too many options. I've found that in the space we have, they sound best toed in a bit and about a foot or foot and a half from the wall. Welcome! Glad you're here. Chuck.
  17. Yes. And yes. Be afraid, VERY afraid!!
  18. Also don't want to run your thread off course, but if we were voting, mine would go to Marantz over Denon, despite the fact that they have the same parent company. I made that switch and haven't looked back. Agree with USNR. Best of luck.
  19. Happy Friday, folks. I've been to Southport and Wilmington both. It was many moons ago and they were stops on the way to Bald Head island for a vacation. Beautiful country.
  20. Happy Thursday, guys. Just finished my second cup. Another sunny day in Denver metro and fairly warm. They keep threatening rain, and actually we could use it. Have a little client work to do today, but nothing overwhelming. Will try to get outside and enjoy while I can. In this area at this time of year we can get the sunny 70's one day and snow the next.
  21. Welcome to the forums. I've been enjoying CW's for quite some time. While the soundstage is big enough for a small auditorium, they do well in smaller environments as well.
  22. Thanks, Stew. Damn, I always wanted to fit in!! Take care.
  23. That's why God invented window cleaning services!! Mornin' to all. Have a great day. Chuck
  24. I'd probably buy them, but not until I opened them up and made sure everything was in working order. Might also try to get them for a little less, while explaining that the lack of tags can affect resale. Good luck on these.
  25. The Chuck Berry song I couldn't recall in the previous post was 'Sweet Little Sixteen.' There's a Wiki on the song which includes Brian Wilson's reason/excuse. Cheers to all.
