  1. Sounds like my house 4 sets of Klipsh Heritage makes you say.."If the House is rock'n dont bother knock'n come on in"...SRV...Rick
  2. The angle on the dog house point is very steep not sure what it is but Andy said most home saws wont do it,you will need to make a jig just to cut that.Rick ps.i made a small LaScala for work many years ago and didnt get the cut even close on a good old table saw
  3. Cool,Im glad we got that fixed....still check those wires and look up Andys post on cleaning and turnning it on and off. Turn it on with speakers and loudness off for like 30 seconds before turnning speakers on ,,same goes turnning it off just reverse it.Rick
  4. Get can of electronic cleaner from radio shack and clean all the controls. Check the fusses on bottom to also fuses can look good and be bad make sure you check them with a tester.Make sure the speaker leads not shorted out at the reciever or speakers, could be a stray strand of wire shorting out on those. Rick
  5. Ok,,,I was kinda slammed in my post on K-horn bass bin airtightness,,,some said leave well enough alone..some said oh the air will take the path of least resistance...some said the woofer cone is not airtight....some said motor board didnt have a seal on it so airtight didnt matter. So if the bass bin of a K-Horn need not be airtight why does a Cornwall....i didnt say the Cornwall should not be airtight i just said its not real important to it or they would have put a gasket on the back panel.I see they did put a gasket on the K-Horn door ,,huh.Rick
  6. HUH....did you read the above?,,,,Rick
  7. You can get iron on walnut trim from woodworkers supply, just heat up the old broken trim and pull off then clean maybe sand a little.Iron the new stuff on trim extra off oil with BLO and your done good as new.Rick
  8. Im not as good at some who will reply but,,,the Folded horn 400hz limit is the high limit and it is folded to lower distortion. Some of the older amps are actully better than new ones. When you can get 104 DB with one watt you dont need to much amp...Most speakers wont even get to 104DB with hundreds of watts of power and if they do distortion would be so great it would sound bad.Rick
  9. Hey Tom...Koss pro4aa in Team electronics 1973 cat. are 60.00 so in 1983 how could they be less? did you get them on sale?...rick
  10. Dont use steel wool around speakers might get metal inside drivers use the scotch brite pad. Rick
  11. Andy has talked about making the back board thicker,he said you should just make another back board and make it thicker then you would have the original to switch back to.You should try the gripper idea to if you have smooth floors.Since the Cornwall is not airtight i dont think it needs a seal but you could just use window weather stripping.Rick
  12. About 1974 or 75 i got a sony 7065 reciever and a pair of koss pro4aa headphones. I used them till i got a pair of ar2ax speakers and a pioneer turntabe. Then got pair of altec speakers forgot model,,,,i was always keeping an eye on LaScalas but to high for me. Then i decided to sell altecs and order LaScalas no matter what...i paid cash up front full price..lol salesman looked at me kinda funny counting 20 dollar bills out.Now i look back and i should have got a discount but hey i still got them.Rick
  13. Since mice have been in there and you plan to do complete restoratin,,,make sure the bass bin is airtight,,,mine were not,,,the test is easy to do and i posted how to do it before.Rick

  19. Try dropping or bumping mdf on the edge and see what happens, the plywood is much tougher. I dont think some of these 35 year old K-Horns would still be around if not made out of plywood. I know the ones i got had a tough life but still held up real well.Rick
  20. As good as those look i would just finish them off with front grills or leave them alone. The reason i changed mine to Bs is i had to take them all apart to veneer them so why not.But in your case they look pretty good from the pictures and to change those to Bs would be alot more work to. Rick
  21. They were style Cs and after testing and sealing the bass bin chamber..now airtight...and dealing with the UPS gorrila jumping on my veneer shipments yea two boxes of nice walnut veneer smashed. They are comming along good now should be done soon one top section left to do and tweeters to fix.
