  3. Woodworkers supply has iron n edging in 3/4...1...2...inches you could use that for the small area but rember you can see the little lip on the side all the way back to where it angles for the corner so you have to do more than just alittle bit of it.Do not forget about the bottom part of the top board it shows to.Rick
  4. I just went to hardware store and looked in rubber washer or faucet area and found some almost the right size and then cut them down to fit.I also per HDBR honed out the throat on my horn with a long piece of dowel with emry cloth on the end.Just put dowel rod in a drill and hone down the rough edges inside the throat. Then i went to Lowes and got this industrial black oil base paint and painted it inside and out no more ringing now.Rick
  5. If you make a top grill frame use baseboard moulding not 1/4 round if the old style top grill are still at Klipsch they will fit perfect.Rick
  6. Before you lay on the veneer make darn sure there is no dirt on the bass bin or veneer or it will cause a bump and drive you crazy,,,,i took off a whole sheet of veneer because of this, you learn fast that way but it hurts the wallet...lol...wastnt funny at the time.Rick
  7. I think you should use Minwax wood filler to square up the edges and fill in the step down where the layers were removed.Square up all corners and edges you wont be sorry...it takes time to do this but you need to do it, in fact i used Minwax on the whole face of my Ks to make sure the face was flat and smooth.I would also buy iron- on edge banding,,,,if it becomes damaged its easy to just take off and replace.I used contact cement water based on mine worked fine,,,,i had a few air bubbles but used iron to get those out no problem.I would recomend BLO for the finish it you want oiled look....when you sand the face after putting filler on use biggest piece of sandpaper you can get and wrap around a big board to make sure you dont round the edges again.Since you got these all apart i would test for air tightness, i found leaks in mine in the upper and lower corners so i poured glue into those corners then turned it upside down to do the upper corners. To test air tightness just cut a board and put inplace of woofer with rubber gasket to seal the slot up.Then when you put the woofer door back on leave one screw out since it goes into the air chamber you can add air to it.At first on mine air went out faster than it went in,,lol,,,but now when i take away the air hose ,air comes back out of chamber so i know its air tight.I also siliconed all the joints i could get to inside the air chamber.Rick
  8. Amy i think you are doing a great job.I think you deserve a raise to put up with most of us nuts...lol..Rick
  9. The tailboard is vertical the horizontal seal is the the board that almost touches the wall horizontaly on the side of bass bin i put some 1/2 pipe foam on mine to seal it to the wall.I also like them with the spacer i changed mine to that style after i re-veneered them.Rick
  10. Im glad you got your sound back.I like your music selection mabe we should trade music ideas....any way you also might think about changing to BEC tweeter its easy to change out. The chart is just the different selections you can use on the auto transformer if you look at schematic and at your crossover i think you can figure it out.In short when you use the different selections your turnning the squawker up or down like a volume control. But you can only use the selections with the 10ohm resistor if i have read ALKs instructions right but it does give you a good selection .Let us know if you need any help.Rick
  11. I also think you might want to borrow another reciever to make sure your reciever not causing the problem.Rick
  12. I think you also need to check to see all wires are in phase,,,that means + on crossover goes to + on woofer,squawker,tweeter...check all drivers. If you go to ALK site there is a schematic of your crossover and if i can understand it anybody can,,,lol. Also i see you got the spring type connectors on mid driver or squawker as we call it....push the spring thing in and pull wire out put back in to make sure you got good connection there.Hope we helped you on this ,let us know if you still feel something is wrong.Rick
  13. I got a copy but i would have to copy it and mail it to you if you would like.Rick

  18. Contact Bob Crites...BEC...he will help you out ...shipping diaphrams would be better than whole tweeters.Rick

  21. I was just trying say in words how it sounds different than the CT125 to me. There is nothing wrong with them, they would still be in my Ks if i didnt buy the CT125.I thought most fellow members would know enough about the Alincos and i would offer them here first. If i got to go to e-bay fine by me.Rick
  22. Anyone interested in my pair of Alinco K-77s?e-mail me .Rick
  23. I listend to my CT125s sunday for 6 hours and Bob those are sweeeeeet.Going to leave mine in for sure. They are hooked to home made ALKS in my K-Horns i listend to Dobbie Brothers,Eagles, stuff with alot of highs and wow. Before i put them in i hooked them and the alinco tweet to a crossover so i could A-B them on the bench and the Alinco sounded scratchy even though it has new diaphrams from Bob in them. Now a new K-77 might not make the scratchy sound but the Alincos are out and thinking of selling them to off -set the cost of the CT125s.Rick..edit,,,does anybody want to buy my pair of Alinco K-77 with consecutive serial numbers from a pair of 1972 K-Horns with new diaphrams from Bob Crites in them?
